weapon2010
Currently in a game where I have a PZiv that is immobilized with 3 crew members, but what is the logic with not letting me use my main gun or the mg?Neither are damaged. Why wouldn't they be able to fire?
IanL
None that I can see. I am pretty sure I have done that before. Is there any other damage? If your tank's weapons controls are destroyed then none of its armaments will work even if they each show green.
weapon2010
my bad , weapons control is knocked out, but why would that prevent the mg from firing?

IanL
my bad , weapons control is knocked out, but why would that prevent the mg from firing? Yeah, I'm not sure what it really represents - other than you are out of luck as the game stands. I have been confused by that before too.
YankeeDog
my bad , weapons control is knocked out, but why would that prevent the mg from firing? Depends on what you consider "Weapons Control" damage to be... The Main Gun and the Coax MG in a tank generally share the same controls, including mounting, sights, etc. So if we assume that a loss of "Weapons Control" is damage to the mechanics that traverse the main gun (i.e., rotate the turret) and/or elevate the gun, then this would also prevent same for the coax MG. Theoretically, the bow MG would be independent and able to fire unless also damaged. No idea if this is the case in the game.
womble
I have seen "Weapon Controls"-damaged tanks (including, explicitly, PzIVs) where no weapons can be fired, as well as those where only the hull MG can. I think "Weapon Controls" covers a number of systems.
Michael Emrys
Theoretically, the bow MG would be independent and able to fire unless also damaged. Or the bow gunner was one of the casualties. I suppose another member of the crew could take his place, but that might involve a lot of squirming around inside a buttoned tank and it is not certain that they would go to the trouble for a limited increase of firepower. Most likely they would just sit tight until they had recovered some from the shock and then bail out as soon as that was thought safe. poesel
IIRC 'weapons control' was the catch all for whatever non-modeled fatal failure could happen to the weapons systems. It means ALL weapons are out. The only thing you can do now is drive the tank and scare the natives. If its immobile you have won a pillbox.
