C2: Radio eqppd. platoon temporarily loses company - why?

I'm wondering what are the rules that radio equipped platoons can lose C2 with their radio equipped company? (Temple to Mars)

Could it be that the use of the radio is not possible if HQs are moving?

Exactly right: the radio must be stationary. After they stop, there will be a slight delay as the radioman re-establishes comms.

I've also had situations when static units have lost touch with upper echelons, even to the extent of one Platoon leader being in radio touch with Coy, but not another from the same company who'd been stationary for longer. I think there's some inherent chance of comms failure.

One thing to note is that a battalion HQ never loses its radio C2 link icon, even when moving. However, it does lose contact with subordinates while moving, and you can see that reflected in the C2 status of the subordinate HQs. I'm submitting a report to determine if this is intended or a bug. (I suspect the latter.)

Yea, the radios were quite finicky with terrain features so there's some random chance that they may go out of contact.

Also, tanks will lose radio contact when the radio operator is firing the hull machine gun.
