kohlenklau
I tried to offer up some free stuff in another thread but nobody even commented. Maybe someone could use a custom sign for a scenario they are writing. Perhaps even for a CMFI GL BULGE 44 scenario or map they are making? nudge nudge wink wink! So, I am slowly improving my technique for these roadsigns. If you like them and need them and want them and just gotta have them. Free to the next 6 posters, just tell me the name of the town(s). You can pick from the following options: a) single arrow to the left, single arrow to the right, c) double left or d) double right. Default is black font on white sign with black edges. Pick from weathered low, medium or heavy. Like this Walsdorf sign...

Rastamon
Hey, I'm interested. Still working through my Bulge maps and getting distracted by MG. I could use: Malmedy, Stavelot, Stoumont, La Glieze, Spa, Petit-Coo. Thanks for the offer.
kohlenklau
Well, it was gonna be 1 sign per each of the next six posters. But since you are the only person who even has responded by now, you get all 6. Anyway, I already have Stoumont done. What kind of weathering would you like with your order? Will you be dining in or is this "to go"?
Erwin
It's not that we're not interested. But, I thought you'd already done the most common ones we'd want.
sburke
It isn't from lack of interest, but rather I have no plans immediately for any Bulge oriented fighting. Too tied up in CMFI and a MG campaign battle. Nice work though. I might however be interested in some signage for Lorraine... Arracourt, Lunéville, Metz, Nancy, Thionville
kohlenklau
I never said it had to be a Bulge town. So SBurke, which would you like? a) single arrow to the left, single arrow to the right, c) double left or d) double right. Default is black font on white sign with black edges. Pick from weathered low, medium or heavy.

Let me give it some thought and I'll try to give some detailed requests.
kohlenklau
Rastamon, I will try my best to duplicate this type font on the signs. But I propose to not use the distance numerals in km since it would be limited in your placement on the scenario maps. Do you concur? Hey Erwin, This is your kind of weathering buddy! If you look real close, the "t''s in ST. and Vith both have an angled top. That will be nigh impossible to get but I will try hard...
kohlenklau
sheeyit, of course I can make those t's...! I will use a close likeness font and then manually chop the t's. this is photoshop....

Rastamon
I agree on the distance numerals. No need. Looking forward to seeing them. I'm almost ready to recruit a few testers for my Bulge scenarios. We can add my scenarios to your Bulge pack. We probably need to wait for most to get through the MG campaigns/scenarios.
kohlenklau
here is a decal sheet that may have been shown here before... I would love to know the actual museum-guide rattled off reason but some signs are one color and some are another. National routes signs look pretty nice and were blue with white font maybe? Provincial routes look a little cheaper were white signs with black font maybe? Here in USA, Federal highways have certain type signs, state roads have another. Makes sense.
kohlenklau
Rastamon, Which way for the arrows. L or R? I PM'd you but no reply yet. Malmedy, Stavelot, Stoumont, La Glieze, Spa, Petit-Coo.

kohlenklau
Thanks. But maybe I've only hacked my way through all the easy stuff? I fear the tough brush lays just ahead...I'll try to keep my machete sharp! How did I get on that jungle analogy?

kohlenklau
I think Tempestzzz first got the files for this sign format from CMSF. Then he made some German signs. I wish I had the original CMSF file. I need to, what is the right word?, target my sign on the right place so the red edges all are correct. I think my splashes are a little out of scale. But it is a place holder for now... In the map editor it shows up as a new green square with white number 5 in "Strt Sign" under Flavor Objects #2. If you load the roadsign mod pack and then edit your map, you can place the signs. If you then take the mod out, and start the game and look at the map, it seems to know it needs a streetsign there, but no longer has number 5 so it shoves in one of the other 4. So, whoever plays your map needs to load the roadsign mod pack when playing, for best immersive effect.
kohlenklau
notes to myself: Rastamon Roadsign Mod Pack milestone1.mdr as stock file produces a single sign pointing to the left. new modded it-mile-sign1 [mainland] will be Spa. rename a copy of milestone1.mdr as milestone2.mdr so it also produces a single sign pointing to the left. open in Notepad++ and edit it to reference it-mile-sign2 new modded it-mile-sign2 [mainland] will be Stavelot. left arrow version rename a copy of milestone4.mdr as milestone3.mdr so it also produces a single sign pointing to the right. open in Notepad++ and edit it to reference it-mile-sign3 new modded it-mile-sign3 [mainland] will be Stavelot. right arrow version milestone4.mdr ok as is. Already references it-mile-sign4 and produces a single sign pointing to the right. new modded it-mile-sign4 [mainland] will be Malmedy. rename a copy of milestone4.mdr as milestone5.mdr so it also produces a single sign pointing to the right. open in Notepad++ and edit it to reference it-mile-sign5 new modded it-mile-sign5 [mainland] will be Petit-Coo rename a copy of milestone4.mdr as milestone6.mdr so it also produces a single sign pointing to the right. open in Notepad++ and edit it to reference it-mile-sign6 new modded it-mile-sign6 [mainland] will be La Gleize streetsign5.mdr from CMSF edited to reference roadsign5.bmp. Produces a double legged rectangular single sign. new modded roadsign5.bmp will be red and yellow Stoumont. EDIT: OK, all mdr file renaming and Notepad++ editing is completed. And most importantly it is safely in a folder on my desktop. Sometimes I go nuts when I lose track of where I put something or get too many of the same named file. Now to continue with the actual modding...
