Destraex1
Amazing. Just grabbed it for $10 off ebay with english subs They have authentic panthers, MKIVs and t34s etc in this movie! Its a 1955 czech propaganda film, but I can live with that for the authentic gear depicted. So far I have seen in the video clip: - 20 mm flak - pak 75 - Stug III - Panzer IV - Panther V Panther in this shot Just thought with the release of the newest CM module that some may find it inspiring as I have. Now to settle for a long wait for the post to arrive... will likely take weeks to reach me
dieseltaylor
Nice film. Interesting in showing JagdTiger moving despite missing chunks of running gear and also its agility in rotating.
Childress
A while back I downloaded a 1946 British film 'Theirs is the Glory' about Arnhem. It featured many of the actual participants as well as some still running vehicles, Allied and German, from the period. It was stunning to watch the Panthers jolting and rocking as they maneuvered and fired. Closer to the CM rendition than I anticipated. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theirs_Is_the_Glory

dieseltaylor
This actually shows moving tanks but were the Panthers appear to be bouncing around appears due solely to terrain apart from a stop where it lurches forward - and there it is possible that is accentuated by the ground dipping away. No doubt someone at some stage will do a comparative on YouTube.
gunnergoz
I'd never seen this clip before of a King Tiger running at the Sameur tank museum: I don't know about you, but the engine sounds just don't match the massiveness of the tank - I knew it was underpowered, but didn't realize it actually sounded so as well.

Battlefront.com
Personally, I found this one the most realistic: Steve
dieseltaylor
I saw the bovington Tiger 1 a few years ago and I think the problem? is that the really low notes just don;t get recorded. And possibly feeling it through the ground makes me misremember : )
Battlefront.com
The engine in the Bovington came out of a Challenger because the original Maibach was missing. IIRC they got a similar Maibach from Germany but burned it up. Steve

I know they donated one from one of their Tiger !!'s at one time and the engines have been a problem. I would be incredibly interested to know how one would adapt tank to a Challenger engine or vice versa. According to the Daily Mail it has the right engine - and then there is film and the apparent sound of a Maybach engined Tiger. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2123736/Back-70-years-mighty-Tiger-tank-Only-surviving-example-works-restored-wartime-specification.html p.s Here is a Challenger 2 engine sound and I am sure someone can find a Challenger 1. Anyway here is the turbo-diesel Challenger engine sound
