Need testers for H2H guerilla scenario

Recommended Posts

Hi

I´m looking for playtesters for my new scenario, called "Waylaid". This is a purely fictional and very assymetrical H2H scenario about a german guerilla-style ambush on a US column. Medium size.

I´m for looking something like two to four H2H-"teams" that would play the scenario and give me feedback on the playability - perhaps even send me a saved file now and then. If you don´t have a H2H opponent I will play the german side (knowing the opponent´s force would be too great an advantage when playing the US side). Unfornunately, I can´t promise to return more than one turn a day.

If you´re interested in testing, please send me a PM here on the BFC site with your email adress - and I´ll mail you the scenario.

BTW, important: Please, decide beforehand which side you´re going to play and do not peek at the other side´s forces. That would spoil the fun.

The story:

An american column has been given the task of escorting an artillery battery (here represented by 76mm AT guns) to their destination on the front. Near the village of Basse-Gris on the river Vire they have to move diagonally across the map to their exit zone - and cross the river Vire in while doing so. Just before the column arrives on the map, the american unit guarding the bridges reports that they are being attacked by germans. Then their radio falls silent. Seems like the column will have to find it´s own way across the river.

Same map as "Two Bridges"

Please note that the map is - except for a few minor improvements - identical to the map in my scenario "Two Bridges" that has been uploaded to the repository in august 2011. Back then, some of the playtesters of that scenario commented that the map was nice but that large parts of it wasn´t used in the scenario. Consequently, I´ve tried to make a scenario that to a greater extend utilizes the whole of the map. I think I´ve succeded. But let there be no doubt: "Waylaid" is an entirely new and different scenario, taking place on - largely - the same map.

Thought I might elaborate a bit on the "very assymetrical"-thing: Waylaid is a scenario that I believe holds very strong - but also very different - challenges for each side. This is due to the very different composition of the forces, their tasks and other factors that are FOW. This is not going to be an easy fight for either side.

If you´re the kind of player that focuses on balanced H2H games and on having your results registrered in a ladder, this is probably not at scenario you should play.

Hi Bertram

Thanks for replying (and volunteering). I´m no fan of RT either, so PBEM, please.

As I wrote earlier, I should play the german side, as the US side would be too easy when knowing the opponents forces.

If you PM me you email adress (or write it here) I´ll send you the file.

Thanks

If you want to have two games going at once to try different tactics etc .... please let me know.

Do you mean like a mirror game? If so, that would kinda spoil some of the fun in this case - as this scenario is designed with US ignorance about axis forces as a key element.

But if you would want to playtest the US side - I´d be happy to send you a file. If you could give me you email adress in a PM - or here.

Cheers
