  1. Over the weekend, I had an opportunity to do a little profiling and in my case the load issue pointed to the intro.wmv file in the HQS mod. Once removed, and with the CM folders on the exclusion list, each of the titles now load up fairly quickly from the first time on. HTH
  2. Okay, you made me curious enough to go look it up! I see soldier are carrying on the fine tradition of referring to each other with colorful nicknames.
  3. I do think future historians will see Biden as a pivotal figure for international affairs. If for no other reason than the fact that he was able to assemble a competent team of professionals who could do their jobs in the background. But it is ultimately the courage of the Ukrainian people who will secure their own freedom and liberty. My hat is off to them, for they have shown themselves capable of determining their own future. Cometh the hour, cometh the man. He has done a yeoman's job representing Ukrainian interests on the world stage.
  4. I had the same problem with CMSF2 and other CM titles. Funny, it is only a problem the first time I load it. If I save, quit and get back in it isn't much of an issue. Turning real-time protection off, it turns itself back on automatically, allows it to load the first time pretty quickly.
  5. Well done on the video! Very high quality and educational to boot, I'll have to revisit that battle.
  6. "This is unfair!" LOL! Someone needs to tell them that fairness doesn't enter the equation. The immediate goal is for one side to seek an advantage of the other side, fair or not.
  7. https://twitter.com/DefenceHQ/status/1587325 An interesting move by Putin. could he really be interested in the Rivine NPP?
  8. Necessity is often the mother of invention. It de-mines, trenches and can be remotely operated. What will they think of next?
  9. More NASAMS are on their way to Ukraine. https://www.defensenews.com/pentagon/2022/10/25/ukraine-bound-nasams-are-in-us-hands-now-raytheon/
  10. Well done, sir! Assuming the photo is authentic, the great Wagner line, the mighty AT barrier made from styrofoam! Next we will see the mighty Lego wall. None shall pass!
  11. Yes, I certainly agree with that. The early indicators are that the House will be at best stalled, especially if they apply the 'Hastert' rule. It won't be a very productive House and as you say, they won't be concerned with public opinion. Instead focusing on the revenge tour. H.L. Mencken is somewhere saying 'I told ya so!'.
  12. Thanks! I hadn't seen that article before. It does tend to track with what I hear from folks around here, but most people I know are veterans or have family currently serving so a slightly biased group.
  13. That unit's commander needs to receive an honorary copy of CMCW, where he will be taught the value of not bunching up!
  14. I caught this interview with LTG Hertling, I tend to stop and listen to him as he always has an interesting perspective. His opinion seems to mirror the observations here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=We8ANNRBZ38
  15. Trouble in the ranks. https://news.yahoo.com/gunmen-kill-11-russian-military-213218841.html
  16. That is an insane level of crazy, but seems to be in step with the online nonsense coming from that side. These idiots don't realize they're making it quite clear there isn't any moral ambiguity in this fight - and they're on the wrong side.
  17. Flynn is a disgrace, in the same ranks as Ritter and MacGregor. The fact that anyone takes their opinion seriously is bewildering. I think these guys appeal to the 'low information' types who consume news as a form of snack food.
  18. An AP article on the bridge and other related items. Truck bomb hits bridge to Crimea, hurts Russian supply lines A bit into the article is this announcement And a 'partial' civilian evacuation of the Kherson region
  19. The short answer is no. This is particularly true of vehicles that have components that are based upon civilian products. So yes there is a wild assortment of tools you'd need to keep everything running if the engine comes from GM but the electronics come from other manufacturers.
  20. Dakka! Dakka! Dakka! You can never have too much dakka!
  21. I didn't see this posted in the thread, some are willing to risk their lives sailing 300 miles into the Bering strait to avoid Putin's war. I'm not sure what will happen to them. I would think they would definitely qualify under the asylum laws. Two Russians sailed hundreds of miles to a remote Alaskan island, local and federal officials said. According to a media report, the individuals were fleeing Putin's military mobilization. A Homeland Security official told Insider the individuals were sent to Anchorage to be processed. Two Russians sail to Alaska to avoid Putin's war
  22. I concur and it is also refreshing to see the resuming of the role as a unifying force behind NATO and successfully clearing possible roadblocks to see the possible addition of two new members.
  23. https://www.defensenews.com/news/your-army/2022/10/03/us-may-establish-new-command-in-germany-to-arm-ukraine-report/?utm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=dfn-rss-zap I didn't see this posted here, a bit of things happening behind the curtains - maybe, it still hasn't been finalized. The U.S. is looking to standup a new command within EUCOM to oversee the equipping and training of UA troops. Apparently, this also includes making facilities like those at either Grafenwoehr or Hohenfels available for their training missions. The proposed command would be located in Wiesbaden where the International Donor Coordination Center, that coordinates the donations from over 40 nations, has already relocated from Stuttgart. Looks like this will be a long term effort.
  24. Wow! That is just embarrassing, for Ritter. He has really gone down the rabbit hole with all of the other 'tankies' here. We'd do well if we just gave them one way tickets to their paradise, maybe they can room with Snowden and Segal.
