  1. I have sympathy for the US people. The politics of Isolationism is knocking every year louder. I really can't blame them. European members of NATO should have policies so that they can be responsible for their own security. To beat Russia that is for Russians to embrace true democracy, right now dictators still rely on their misguided sense of patriotism. Settlement could be freedom of navigation on the Black Sea it is not a Russian Lake like the North Sea is not a British Lake or Sea.
  2. Mmmm Iraq, Afghanistan and we shut up about Vietnam, the most powerful army in the world runs short of decisive victories. Storming Norman was the last successful general against Russian Supplied arms. Once the US taxpayers thinks it is too expensive they vote in a Commander in Chief who will withdraw just to be elected.
  3. Beethoven's Fifth Symphony DOT DOT DOT DASH or the letter V. Far better than the Z for Zilch.
  4. I think this is an excellent documentary. I checked the subtitles and think it is a good translation.
  5. 200 years since the Red Coats and Green Jackets. Red Coats have been replaced by the Machine Gun and the Green Jackets evolved in the modern rifleman (Cover, Concealment Fire Positions.) Yes, UGVs in the form of ground drones is feasible too. Size of a domestic cat with better eyesight and easier to train doing the scouting.
  6. Typical example is the start button of motorcycles. The Brits invented it and sold the patent to the Japanese as British bikers were traditionalists and preferred kick starters. Like they say it is now history, I loved my Yamaha with the electric starter granted Triumphs were nice bikes too.
  7. The trains in the Australian mining industry are also replaced by robotics. The only reason they may still have drivers is because in case of an emergency one incident justifies a year's salary. The same may apply in the military.
  8. So, warfare in the future is very much playing a computer game. Operator in some secure control room directing operations with drones and UGVs.
  9. Translate Shakespear in modern jargon. The Cellphone is mightier than the AR15.
  10. Yes the smallest drone is the size of the common sparrow. Wait and we have mosquito size or even smaller.
  11. European Union, the New Russia will become a member, I agree sometime in the distant future.
  12. Once the first shot is fired diplomacy is over. To disguise it is pointless, because it will be a defeat. Prigozhin is an example what happens when you negotiate with putin. I am afraid it will be over when the Russian flag will be lowered at the Kremlin.
  13. Like B29's over Korea doing MacArthur's bidding. The man was sacked for very good reasons. The B52's will trigger WW 3 Imo. B52s were yesterday's tools. You don't negotiate with the likes of putin the last person who did this was Prigozhin. Arm the Ukraine is diplomacy at present you just don't agree with it. UN resolutions which Russia has Vetoed was diplomacy and you don't advocate diplomacy but appeasement.
  14. Diplomacy is the prerogative of the Ukraine. If necessary, they will resort to an IRA or even a fundamentalist type of operation. Locals always have the last word. To discuss diplomacy on this forum is a waste of time. Select which side you are on. 19th century style of imperialism is not European diplomacy nowadays. Up to the US population who they support I don't vote there.
  15. Remember is never took much to outrange the enemy. David used a smooth stone to outrange the heavily outfitted Goliath.
  16. My best performance with an AT Rifle was made a Tiger 1 retreat by a penetration through the roof of the turret.
  17. Some good point of a veteran tank commander.
  18. Look at this survival expert, grows her own wheat and bakes her own bread. enough for a platoon by the looks of it.
  19. Yes the way the 25 PDRs took out the Stug III it was in the last remaining pocket few turns to go and my last barrage was heavy on maximum. Surprised behind a building a cloud of black smoke in the after action saw the spotter was credited with a StugIII.
  20. All the years I played in WW2 scenarios one Stug III when I had a heavy barrage for Maximum near the end of a scenario.
  21. We are not fancy but we are cheap. Five Russian jets 'destroyed by cardboard drones as easy to assemble as an Ikea flatpack' in attack by Ukrainian forces last week (msn.com)
