I found it initially hard to see the difference between the RL photo and your mod.  Lovely work.

Still a WIP or available for d/l?

Yes, I'm going to put a series of landscape mods online
Between June, July and August the aspect of nature changes
I designed a mix of mods that I created, others picked up as is, finally other than I adapted
The idea is to stick as closely as possible to the colors and ambiance of the Normandy countryside
I have the advantage of living there and watching the changes for 50 years now (time flies)

here the same place during three months:

    June
grass and bright green tree presence of poppy ...

    July
the green is less intense the tall grasses turn yellow

    August
yellowed grass, trees turn brown, poppies are gone

In 1944, there were many more kinds plants, insects, and wildlife in the countryside, and weeds and wildflowers growing all over the place. It's not the warming that has killed them off since then, but access to powertools and machines for clearing plants, as well as weedkiller herbicides. Without these, a patch of brambles is a LOT of work to remove.

Also, fields back then were smaller and there were many more hedgerows between fields. These were home for wildlife too.

yes, modern agriculture has greatly changed the appearance of crops in Normandy and elsewhere.
There were many more apple trees and the fields were smaller.
Some find that the fields are too small in combat mission Normandy,
I often think that they are too big, especially in the American sector.
I added poppies in my fields of wheat and linen because I remember that there were many until the early 80s and the old people often mentioned them in their memories.

For 4-5 years with the appearance of pesticide-free crops, they have reappeared

the old ones also often evoke cornflowers
I saw it for the first time 2 years ago in a field near Trun

Certain explains to me that the wheat field was red and blue but I never saw it

  3. in Normandy each German infantry division had 4,500 horses (theoretical), the number was 6,500 during Operation Barbarosssa
In truth, the more the war progresses and the less the Germans use the horses because they cannot succeed in replenishing
Certain units are obliged to requisition civil motor vehicles, although no fuel is available.
There are a multitude of regulatory trolleys
I invite you to visit the website of this association whose president is a friend: http://hvca.fr/
horses have no interest in games
on the other hand, the modeling of the cart by our professional modder to make flavor object would be a plus

That's really very cool.....Presumably those would be genuine samples of the three German camo colours seen across the board on AFVs etc.  I'd love to see them against a plain white background.

I will try to do this tomorrow with daylight

It's not a question of capability, but doctrine. The Italian platoons are two ten-man squads and an HQ. One squad has two LMGs and is the base of fire, and the other has the balance of grenades and is the manoeuvre element. The manuals talk about splitting these only in "exceptional" circumstances only, so this is the logic  behind not allowing them to split.

Yes, that's why I thought it was impossible and that I hadn't tried it.
For more realism it may be necessary to avoid it,
however the fact that under this command the soldiers all go by the same door presents a certain interest in urban combat !!!

Will give it another go though.....I

ah ha an other bitten by the virus😉
you have to play it in 4.00 or 3.12 if you still have it
I will not give you advice and let you, discover the different techniques
It is a demanding game that requires playing with all your weapons and characteristics.
He is also a great trainer, I have developed techniques which I apply to all the other scenarios

I have been working a bit to redesign the misson, including changing the church and redoing all the elevations, turning down the difficulty a bit, etc. And also to make it a CW mission. But I haven't found the time to continue.

The place has changed a lot in the last few years.
Your map is closer to the Pierrefitte of 1944 than the one you can find on google map, it is remarkable.
the wall around the cemetery disappeared in the late 90s and early 2000s.
with the British it would be even more complicated !!
I think just by removing some of the tetraedes
    I'm going to try
an interesting link for pre-war visuals

    Steve

    hum hum it smells good
    CW in CMFB.
like the Germans and the Americans they will climb on the tanks !!!
so no more obstacle for this characteristic to also implement in CMBN !!!
