Hardradi got a reaction from A Canadian Cat in Squads breaking cover for no reason?
Just tried this and it was pretty easy. I already had a copy of all CMBN 3.11 files so I didn't have to re-download.
I installed this to a directory which I named "...Normandy 3.12" so I knew exactly where it would be. I then downloaded the patch (which is 3.12). Curiously, it didn't give me an option of where to install the patch when I ran the .exe file, so I stopped the install. After some brief mucking around it seemed to be dropping it into "...Normandy 3.12".
    All seems good.
    Cheers Ian

Oh yuck. I just went to the store to find it and I forgot how painful that can be. I usually buy something, download it and save it with the keys so I never have to go in there again to find stuff. Here is what I did: I logged into the store and looked at the My Account page. On that page there is a list of purchases each with an arrow and "View" I looked at each one until I found one named this: CM Normandy - v3.0 UPGRADE  with the SKU of CBNU-3P-DW. That, for me, linked to the full installer for CMBN 3.11. That leads to the next challenge - downloading the right thing. The download link leads to a share file service and you have to select all the files on that screen - use the select all button and then press the download button to get them all.
But there is a patch too after that: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2306&Itemid=518
Yeah its bad but way better than trying to piece everything together on little bit at a time in the right order without missing a step. I thought there was an easier way to get a full install of version but I cannot find it.
You reap what you sew. Sadly I usually end up saying that to people who are being jerks and getting upset when they get a harsh response. It is refreshing to say it to someone being reasonable who is looking for advice and actual wants to hear it.

Hardradi reacted to Sulomon in Sulomon vs Sid: A Quick Battle AAR
Hello this is my first AAR.  This is an AAR of a quick battle I fought against @sid_burn  I have fought more recent battles against Sid but this is one of the more fitting battles for an AAR.  I am attacking as Germans against Americans in a medium size attack.

The map is well forested with all the objectives being accessible by forest from my right and there is some forest on my left.  The map for the most part slowly declines but trees in front of the town obscure some los from the hill.  This is my first time attacking Sid in a QB so I am unsure of what to expect.  I expect infantry and artillery but am unsure of how much armor he will take.  I am only sure he will put AT guns on a ridge that overlook a good portion of the hill.

My own forces consist of a battalion of Grenadiers and three Brummbars.  This is one of my first time using Brummbars and I'm curious how they will perform.  If Sid takes a lot of armor that could be problematic since Brummbars only carry 3 HEAT rounds and aren't very accurate.  Probably would have better to replace 1-2 of the Brummbars with a stug but oh well.  Given the terrain I should be able to get infantry AT close enough against armor if he has any.  For artillery I have four on map 81mm mortars and two off map.  I also have 2 heavy mortars and a forward observer to spot for them.  Unfortunately I didn't bring any trps this battle.

My base of fire is the hill using my Brummbars and HMGs to fire into the town.  The 10th company will also move here.  One platoon will secure the minor objectives (where I expect only a token or nonexistent defence), another platoon will be with the Brummbars and HMGs to protect and assist with fire into the town, and the third platoon along with the panzerschreck will move into the forest to secure it and flank the town.  The 11th company will move along the forest to flank the major objectives and will be the main force pushing into the objectives.  The 9th company will push along the far right to neutralize whatever forces he has on the ridge and to support the 11th company in their attack on the town.
    Will make more posts soon!

Rightly or wrongly I am with CptMiller and Bozowans here. Millers video is very telling and mimics what I have seen in battles vs the AI.
I have been waiting for a fix to continue my Road to Nijmegen campaign since April last year. To me the change to 4.0 was like chalk and cheese for the desperate Airborne in the later battles of this campaign.
    Not hating just saying.

If you watch this video and still think there is absolutely no problem, you're either high, delusional, or both.
The fact is, there IS an issue, and Steve has already acknowledged it and said there will be a patch that addresses it. Again to reiterate what I've already said, I would like it if the patch was out sooner rather than later, but I'm not all butthurt that it hasn't been released yet.

Sorry to take so long to look at this. I loaded up the saved campaign on my 'full 4.0 installation' of CMBN and was able to play it for 28 minutes without issue (saved the game at that point). I played the game in a fairly passive manner, not issuing a lot of or detailed commands.
I played this on a PC with Windows 7 64-bit and an i5 2500k with 16GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 770 video card (with NOT the latest drivers). Everything played fine and I even played it twice; the first time for about 6 minutes before quitting the game... I had forgotten when exactly you were experiencing the crashing, so I had to load it up again and play for a bit longer to make sure I was duplicating the issue.
This install should have been a '4.0 full' installer, but I can double-check on another installation that I'm fairly certain would also be that.
