  1. What I find most interesting here is that state TV is openly concerned about riots. That is most telling.
  2. I bet the new UA artillery's first job is to destroy RU artillery. That's what I'd do. Arty is the only part of the RU military that is really working.
  3. Whoa, that makes three major counter offensives by my count: Izyum, Kharkiv NE, and now here. Hopefully those wounded Russians will receive proper medical care ASAP and it's posted for all to see. Best outcome is when (low morale) Russians believe they have better chance of survival by surrendering than by fighting and following orders.
  4. What a huge saturday in Ukraine!!!!!!!! Looks like RU Izyum salient under heavy attack, at least by artillery, and quite possibly will be cut off if they don't retreat. A post I saw elsewhere on May 5 suggested that that was day that we'd look back on as the day the war entered a new phase of Ukrainian victories. That fella might be right. I wonder how much of the current Izyum work is being done w the new western artillery, plus perhaps russian-style ammo stocks supplied by Poland, et al. Meanwhile, there's indications that Putler now is moving forces to try to get offensive going farther south, Popasne area. He just keeps doubling down on his bad bets, w each bet having lower and lower objectives. Pretty soon he'll be like hitler asking whether some specific building in stalingrad has been taken yet. Just thinking of that murderous, monstrous killer clown Putin sweating and panicking over some map brings me joy. He is well and truly f--ed in this war and has swarms of powerful Russian men that want him dead. And he did it all by choice! well done, 'genius'! Out of likes, though many of you who've posted were deserving.
  5. whoa y'all, this aint gonna go nowhere good. This Ukraine thing however, it's got some legs. Let's get back to it.
  6. 3 counter artillery radars: that's actually latin for "here's payback, f-ers!"
  7. And if RU is concentrating their increasingly limited armor in the 'Great Patriotic Liberation of Donbas' Front, I wonder what opportunities UKR will find on other fronts. I am still hoping for some local collapse, probably brought on by low quality troops getting hammered by artillery and then being infiltrated by infantry followed by armor. RU simply cannot be strong everywhere on this whole insanely long front.
  8. well well well It’s seeming more and more likely that the Claims about the Russian Frigate Admiral Makarov being stuck by Ukrainian Anti-Ship Missiles off the Coast of Odessa is True, multiple Rescue Ships and Aircraft are reportedly in the Area with U.S Surveillance Drones keeping eyes on it. pic.twitter.com/JTuAKr1VEd — OSINTdefender (@sentdefender) May 6, 2022 and this fun map
  9. Dang, Steve went there. I was avoiding that one for fear of vacation. Thanks for saying that, Steve, needed to be said. Maybe we can all agree to drop the monument thing and get back to Ukraine? Anyone have any news on the alleged ship attack? And what a good way to start May: UKR has already taken more territory in a few days than what RU has taken in a month. I am feeling a little bit of optimism right now.
  10. I hear what you are saying but we're getting kinda semantic and black and white in what is a gray area. Is a cemetery a monument? Or is it simply a gravesite? Or is it a memorial? Does it honor or commemorate the actions of the person or the tragedy of their death in war? Some of these things are easy: Stalin statue in Ukraine is definitely out. Hitler statue in Tel Aviv definintely out. Stuff constructed by soviet state in Ukraine --well, USSR killed more Ukrainians that it did german soldiers I do believe, so kinda tough on that score.
  11. going back to Ukraine -- Haiduk's excellent and informative post above (fires around Izyum, video of destroyed RU column) is a nice indicator that UKR is taking ground. Instead of drone video behind enemy lines or in no man's land, it's UKR troops destroying RU column and owning the ground. And anecdote of which I hope many similar are on the way.
  12. Sometimes I see posts and say "dang, wish I woulda said what I said be like what he said". So, well said.
  13. I think I might look at monuments a little differently. Monuments are to honor a person or time for some reason. History is just history. If someone put up a statue of Hitler and said "why are you taking that down, it's for history", no one would agree. Well, almost no one. Monuments should, of course, be historically accurate, but the are intended for remembrance of some sacrifice or great actions or some tragedy. History museums can have statues of the scoundrels but these are not monuments. Got to be quite a conflicting set of thoughts & emotions for a soviet WW2 memorial in Ukraine.
  14. just ignore him, he clearly has no idea what he's talking about and has a head full of propaganda. I've seen enough that I hit the ignore button. If I want to see that kind of stuff I can just go straight to qanon & cut out the middleman.
  15. I am still confused why any of this would make any difference to anything? So Putin said something and NATO ignored him. So what?? Would he have changed into a peace loving democratic visionary? No one trusted him or his country. There's so many "what about" things going around I just want to say: How does any of this change anything or matter at all? Russia embarked on a premeditated course of violent mass murder to completely subjagate Ukraine. There was no justification for this, as Ukraine posed no realistic threat to Russia. Compared to this all the other stuff is just noise and distraction.
  16. These maps always scare me at first, then I remember the scale we are talking about. That's is a kilometer or less. And RU still nowhere near getting to Slovyansk. Hopefully a few weeks from now we'll be talking about RU forces being cut off in this area.
  17. Was less funny for people in US who actually live in an evidence based reality. Not funny at all.
  18. how much do y'all trust this feller? I very much love what I am seeing here but don't want to get excited unless he is deemed legit by the smartypants folks here.
  19. Sarcasm is a dish best served cold. Well done, Kraft.
  20. And UKR high command may simply be hoarding resources for big counterstrikes elsewhere. It could be prioritization. They have a relatively stable situation all along their fronts. They are able to trade small bits of territory for big Russian losses and resource expenditures, though this is hell for the UKR troops involved. Meanwhile they can build up resources, reserves, armor, AA, etc for elsewhere.
  21. Step one for poor DMS and his country's future: kill Putin, lay all the blame on him, pull out of Ukraine, at least to Feb22 borders, make eternal peace treaty w all neighbors. Then actually have real elections in a year or so. That would be the necessary start to stop being an endlessly violent aggrieved 'victim' who seems to need to lash out all the time. It's a lot better to be a nice family in the neighborhood, not the crazy psycho w the conspiracy signs in the yard and an arsenal in the basement.
  22. wow, great info above, thanks to all of you. First we hear about just how hard UKR defenders are having some areas, like Popasna. Claims of being heavily outnumbered and outgunned, with huge RU advantage in artillery. So the new arty from the west can't come soon enough. Also, I wonder if UKR is prioritizing forces for some other sectors? Are there some big punches coming from UKR, as per the official UKR statements seen in today's earlier posts? Is that where the reserves and new arty is going? Interesting. And huge losses for one day! 15 tanks, 41 APCs, 200 killed! that's a huge RU loss for one day, especially w all the support losses.
  23. he really said that? How do people that incredibly ignorant and stupid get to run a whole country???? Oh wait, I live in the US. Nevermind, dumb question. very funny! LukadumbFunk unfortunately has no style, unlike Benito, who at least could put on a show. But yes, he is looking like Mussolini right now.
  24. that's great news! It provides some proof to our belief that RU is taking heavy losses to get very little ground.
