  1. I tend to play Allies. German infantry can be scary in FB due to the sheer amount of MP44/MG42's and your American troops often comprised of straggler formations. With that being said, I remember Chaumont being tough. But the game is never fully balanced towards the AI. A human player can outsmart the AI in any scenario as you can adapt your attack and the AI's defense is, well, usually static.

It's foolhardy, but fo'sure there are plenty of times when, for one reason or another, they didn't don their helmets. This lot look like they might be on anti-partisan operations ... and the guy taking the weight is gonna get so deaf. The MG doesn't have a bipod so it could have been vehicle mounted or they didn't want to deploy it on a full mount cos of the long grass.

Ha my ears hurt just looking at this photo!

Guy laying down suppressive fire with a sidecap on. Could be staged, but I really don't think it's farfetched that some German soldiers abstained from wearing their stahlhelm every minute of combat. They're uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time and given the ragtag state of the German army by 45 it's possible they didn't even have enough to supply all of their troops. (This photo is from 1943 though)

Like George says, It's an addition to Frenchy56's excellent caps, just grab it and drop it in with his and everyone should be wearing nice Feldmutzes. It's an either or mod, you either have these or you stick with the traditional peaked officer hats. Unfortunately there's no way to have variety so far as I can tell.

Yeah, that's the dream. To have these caps mixed with other headgear. Perhaps in CM3!

I don't have a problem with the animation. I have a problem with their reaction when coming under fire. They don't drop to the ground immediately. There's usually a couple of moments where they're still walking around. I guess this could simulate confusion but somewhat frustrating anyway. Perhaps this is scaled in regards to the unit's experience... I haven't done any tests.

A lot of the Aris mods have extra turrets, hulls, skirts etc, I've copied the base assets over for these extra so I don't end up with weirdness where part of the vehicle is whitewashed or marked for Berlin but the rest of it isn't.

    MMM

Tedious but what I did as well.

  7. This looks pretty interesting. You could model the partisans on the "Ukrainian Insurgent Army" which aren't discussed much in comparison to the Polish resistance fighters. They have a somewhat ominous reputation but were also very effective for a time. They even assassinated a high ranking soviet General (Vatutin.) As for them defending a heavily damaged city against Soviet troops? I have no idea.
