  1. Hi !

I just bought the v3.0 upgrade for CMBN and downloaded it.

After the installation i needed to activate it and entered my old CMBN key from 2011 but this one was shown as invalid. Then i entered the key i got from the v3.0 Upgrade purchase and that worked and unlocked CMBN.

The thing is, i purchased the original CMBN back in 2011 with another account and email adress then the v3.0 upgrade and i never had CMBN installed or activated on my current PC.

How did BFC know i had a valid CMBN key ?

So could someone who only bought the v3.0 upgrade for 10$ also unlock and activate the full CMBN ?

  2. Err, any of the games at v3 of the engine have triggers.

Older battles may not have been updated, but they are still good. Plus, the older ones have more mods and more built scenarios. And, the packs add the trigger-designed battles.

But all stock scenarios (base games + modules) lack triggers and there are, for each game, only a handful of user created scenarios that use triggers.

What packs are you talking about ?

  3. Hi !

In the last year or so i only played CM titles with AI triggers included in the scenarios, so i have to ask those who regulary play both, scenarios with and without AI triggers.

How bad is the AI in pre AI trigger scenarios compared to the newer scenarios that include AI triggers ?

Do you notice a big difference in offense/defense ?

Is the AI tougher to beat in the scenarios with triggers ?

  4. As i said, some tweaking would maybe be enough.

Just make Inf a bit less Rambo, increase the effects of supression and decrease accuracy a bit for small arms.

If you want to have a real good modelling of time and space in combat and want to scream at the monitor because your attacking Bn has again bogged down then there is a other game i cant mention here...

  5. However, if BF moves the whole ruler in the direction of slower combat, the end result is likely to be general player-base dissatisfaction.

    I dont think so.

They always complain about how ninche they are and how "few" customers they have (compared to most other games) and i thin those "few" would like a slower and more realistic combat simulation or at least some tweaking.

  6. Im still not convinced that rubble should give more cover then a intact building.

Just because there are examples of troops dug in rubble and putting up a hardcore defense does not mean that rubble gives you more cover against bullets, artillery fire or airstrikes.

Oh and i think thats the whole point, rubble can be great cover if you have time to dig in and fortify your positions but thats not in the CM scale.

So when i level a building soldiers who are in that rubble should not be as protected and dug in as the green devils in Monte Cassino...
