I had to check my DVD. And the DVD release of Tuntematon Sotilas, in Sweden. Has all Nordic countries subs, and English/American Subs to.

I totally missed the second part of your post! I find that European war movies are better than American movies. The German Stalingrad, the Russian Brest Fortress, the Finnish Talvisota, and some others are really good.

    Welcome lucas

From the country that made some of the best ww2 Movies ever made: Tuntematon sotilas and Talvisota.

Regarding Tuntematon sotilas, i like the 1985 version made by Rauni Mollberg the most. And in this october there is a new version comming out again :D

Which Tuntematon sotilas would you recommend? from 1955 or 1985?

Welcome to the forums Lucas. I used to be part of the SPWAW forums and we had a big community of Finns. Looks like you guys really love Strategy games. I'm also a big player of Unreal World, I think it has the World Record on longer development, or something similar. It's made by two Finns.

Starcraft had that feature: you didn't get to see any of the map until your Zerglings loped through it (Kekekekeke!) All else was darkness: 'Here Be Dragons'

I vaguely recall seeing a wargame once where unseen areas showed as a period 1:25,000 topo map. But while cool, that would put a further burden on scenario designers.

Total War does something similar to the topo map thing in the great campaign.

  4. The book is on ebay but the price is quite high. I have it, not planning on selling it, but I don't remember how much I paid for it. I purchased my copy directly from the authors through the market-garden.info forums that are now dead, so my advice is to contact the author directly trough his site, Defending Arnhem. He might have a copy or he might know where to find one. I will contact my Arnhem books broker and ask him, will let yo know,

  5. Frustrated by the lack of radios in the Italian Army I did a little testing of my own in CMFI.

I purchased an Infantry battalion and trimmed it down to an HQ, recon platoon and one company. I then purchased three FO teams (only infantry unit with radio?) under the command of the HQ. Placed 1 FO with the recon team, 1 with the HQ and 1 with the company. All three clusters of units where out of contact. When the recon platoon spotted my target, information was shared vertically with the FO team but not among the FO teams and not among the other clusters of units, of course.

Second attempt, I purchased the same as before but instead of purchasing 3 single teams of FO under the command of HQ, I purchased a different unit, a Forward observer section. I then purchased two single FO teams inside this section. The original FO team acts as a HQ. Again I created three clusters of units. Placed the FO HQ with the Btln. HQ, 1 FO with the scouts and 1 FO with the company. When the scouts spotted my target information was shared horizontally to the FO, then upwards to FO HQ, horizontally to Btln HQ. Downwards from FO HQ to other FO team and horizontally again to the Infantry company.

  6. Hello. I'm working on a scenario that requires a long bridge. I'm using a combination of 40W and 56W bridges, and I'm struggling to make everything look right. One of the problems I'm having is that there is a step at the beginning and end of my bridge, how can I eliminate that?

This is the step I'm talking about.

This two pictures are the bridge and how I'm fixing the elevations so it won't sunk into the earth. If you have any advice on bridges and elevations, please share!

Nice job.  Maybe we will get a CMAK yet.  @kohlenklau also did some work in this area you might find interesting.

Yes, I'm just adding to his core mod, that's why I'm posting here, he only imported palm trees and short power poles as far as I know. All my additions are labeled [africa] and I hope they can be added to his folder once he comes back.

Most things are from Afghanistan and the well is from CMRT. I have also imported a lot of flat roof buildings from Afghanistan, sadly you can't use the roof as a firing position.

"dessert" as in ice cream or cakes on the trolley??   (Confused as to what are the imported mod(s) we're supposed to be looking at.)

It's not nice to make fun of people. English is not my mother tongue, I'm trying to communicate with people and be a part of this community with the best of my abilities.

The imported assets are the sacks, carts, plant and well. You won't find these in stock CMFI. Just a couple of things I thought would not look out of place in a desert setting.

Would I have to be locked on the firing AA, or is that a general message seen from all positions?

And, a bit off topic, back then in the Steel Panthers days, I once had a shot down Me110 crashing onto the battlefield. THAT was a sight....

I used to create a lot of paratrooper and glider missions in SPWAW and seeing those C47 or Gliders going down was nerve wrecking!
