  1. From said story:

The theoretically totally awesome news is that if you move something through the water fast enough, the bubble created by cavitation gets enormously large, and it really starts to cut down on the drag experienced by the vessel.

I'll get my news elsewhere thanks.

Obviously dont know vice, they have very good docs and the articles well generally suck and the writers take their share of bashing for it. Basically stick to their news site and avoid the crap stories youll see the difference.

  2. what happened was I saw a ton of different camo pattern in use so including foreign like ACU's so I thought it was mostly donated stuff but this raises another question why use that many different camo patterns what not use just one or two

Well most militaries i've seen do that its either from desperation and lack of supply or its just by decisions from above picking patterns/uniforms. So for the Ukrainians and the rebels its because they have no choice. But if you look at lets say the Germans in WW2 with their variety or the Russians through the Chechen wars till kinda recently it can be by choice.

  3. Thanks for the replies, i see why this hasn't been done yet. I for one would be happy with just a bare box underneath a building with potentially windows to fire from. But i see how this and a lot of other stuff involving more realistic structures and fortifications would be a nightmare for the devs.

  4. thats probably true now more recent pictures it looks like they have better gear and less random stuff I asked that because I am trying to figure out what the Ukrainians will look like in black sea

I can assume what the americans will and I saw the some Russian units from one of the streams but Ukrainians have donated gear in game or will it be more of standard uniform

i get your question guess we'll have to wait and see but....here are some links showing what the future might be for the standard camo for the Ukrainians in the real world and assuming CMBS...

  5. does the Ukrainian military have a standard uniform because from what I have seen in pictures and videos it looked like they used whatever they could get their hands on some of them had a british desert

The standard i believe before the war was variants of the soviet ttsko pattern uniforms. Now you see lots of paramilitaries and guys drawn up for service bringing their own stuff bought or donated from the surplus market like the desert dpm you mentioned.

  6. May have been asked before but why are there no basement positions for buildings? Ive a read a few accounts from different wars of defenders making basements into excellent pillboxes. Usually ends up with them having a grenade tossed in on them or whole structure collapsing down but.... Just wanted to see BFC and everyones else take on this thanks.

  7. All armies are varied rather than uniform.

This statement sums up the whole discussion.

the 12th and the 17th were SS units, trained and led by veterans and equipped with the latest weapons. Both would be considered green by the factors we are discussing here, but could be considered superior to a comparable Wehrmacht formation. However, one unit broke fairly quickly under pressure and the other fought for weeks also under intense pressure.

I really doubt 17th SS was even in the same league as the 12th. It was mostly comprised of conscripted volksdeutche and not exactly superbly equipped.

  8. One of the reasons they look cool is because they are wearing your helmet mod. And their destroyed vehicles have your hit decal mod on them. (In fact some of the vehicles have several of your hit decals on them) Thanks for taking the time to mod and share. The mods really improve the game immersion. Not to mention the cool screen shots.

No problem cool to see someone using em. Heres some of the wire and net ones im fixing up for the next release...

  9. Here are some hit decals from World of Tanks i'm not sure if they are stock or from someones mod for that and seems like there are a few different variations of it out there.

I've just made them usable by the community so all credit go to whomever originally put them together.

They appear to be from those test tanks in finland like some of the ones i released so still they might be bit too "shiney" for you armor penetration grogs on here.

ohh and i have pretty large engine sounds mod in the works, i'm compiling sounds for most of the AFVs in the game. It just sucks that all the vehicles share sounds according what class they fall in.

EDIT: Here are some screens of the decals
