  1. WTF? ...during a visit to Kyiv, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had conveyed Joe Biden’s message about the need to start negotiations with Putin. MoD Reznikov: Kyiv is not accepting Western partners’ recommendations to start "peace" talks with the Russian Federation and demands a complete end to the occupation of Donbas and Crimea. The options ‘as of 24 February’ no longer exist. It must be as of 1 December 1991 [Ukraine’s internationally recognised state borders]. Go out," concluded Reznikov [Reznikov used English when saying the words "Go out" - ed.]. https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2022/09/10/7366954/
  2. @Aragorn2002 There was a video in twitter where single Pz2000 fires from the road in Kharkiv oblast.
  3. This is attack on Ternovi Pody - small village of half-hunderd houses in Mykolaiv oblast. This is obviously "surpise raid" action, not prepared attack (means with preliminary arty strike, armor advance etc). I think, our recons had info about small garrison, so such cavalry raid on HMMWVs on the dawn had more sense - the armor moves with extra noise, so Russians could have time to wake up an prepare to fight.
  4. Detachment (battalion) of Spetsnaz is not equal to motor-rifle battalion. I don't know about current Russian Spetsnaz structure, but in late USSR time typical Spetsnaz brigade had three detacments in 164 men each. Among detachment there were three company in 42 men each (some had 58) and special radio equipment company in 32 men + 6 men HQ. Currently Russian SpN detachments got some suport units, but probably "combat core" remained with the same personnel number
  5. In comments someone wrote this is Crimea, but who knows...
  6. On first cadres UKR UR-77 minecleaning vehicle
  7. @sburke Police lt.colonel (retired) Denis Korostelyov. Probably volunteer unit.
  8. In addition to the list of Russian units, defended Balakliya area - this tank belonged to 26rh tank regiment of 47th tank division of 1st tank army.
  9. Despite all attention now to Kharkiv offensive, Russian forces continue own advance in Donetsk oblast. After several weeks of assaults and artillery bombardments enemy troops (mostly PMC and LDPR regulars) have seized fortified hill on the outskirts of Kodema village in 12 km SE from Bakhmut. The enemy try to attack now from there on Mykolaivka Druha and Zaytseve, but without success Here is Kodema fortifications Also DPR troops several times for last two days tried to assault Krasnohorivka town, but were repelled with losses of several light armor
  10. How it looks HIMARSed vehicle base in Kharkiv oblast
  11. Colonel-general Oleksandr Syrskyi comanded of this operation. Also he commanded the defense of Kyiv
  12. @The_Capt The writing of UKR soldier in TG Translation: Kiss hands of the motor-infantry and tankers. They are builders of this breakthrough: they are beat in defense and seized crucial points, they supressed attempts of the enemy to organize itself on new lines, they drove out the enemy over the horyzon and left on their way the pile of of burned enemy armor together with bantlings. The news feed couldn't keep up with them, in their success believed nobody, funny "analysts" considered that the flag near Buhaivka couldn't be raised already on the third day, that ours can't wet own legs in Oskil so quicly. They can. The peple of steel, which crush enemy skulls with tracks.
  13. SBU Alfa special force in Kupiansk with UKR-designed Novator armored car
  14. Here is a animated map of UKR offensive. I doubt it 100 % true about units set, but let it be The quality of video is not proper, so I write UKR units from north to south (of course under "brigade" in real means "elements of brigade"): - 112 TD brigade (Kyiv) - 92nd mech. brigade - 113th TD brigade (Kahrkiv oblast) - 93rd mech.brigade - 25th airborne brigade - 3rd tank brigade - 80th air-assault brigade - 10th SOF detachment - 8th SOF regimnent - KRAKEN SOF - Foreign Legion SOF - two unrecognizable light/SOF units - 3rd National Guard brigade - some unrecognizable brigade - 71st jager infantry brigade - 40th artillery brigade as support in rear
  15. Maybe I should use other word, but I meant a result of "unit combat cohesion" process )
  16. I met the opinion of some western military analyst in twitter (alas can't find now) that this UKR offensive puts an end to discussion about either need tanks and armored vehciled in modern warfare or not, because UKR success was caused by PROPER WELL PLANNED using of armored spears. Of course, as I said mech. units usage was properly combined with mobile recon/AT groups on pick-ups and SOF infiltration I just post here some examples of UKR armor in this operation: Likely air-assault unit, riding on BTR-80s Flag over Kupiansk raised soldiers of 1st mech.battalion of 92nd mech.brigade (writings on the flag) Tanks of some air-assault/airborne brigade (80th or 25th) UKR air-assault unit on BTR-3DA Entering to Balakliya - BTR-4 and BMP-1 BTR-4 fires at the enemy UKR Buk M1 is following advancing troops
  17. There was enough videos of destroyed Russian armor and captured soldiers from Kaliningrad (79th regiment/18th MRD home), also was a video about some Caucasian unit evacuates own wounded (they speak on some Caucasian language). There was writing this is Kadyrov troops, but there are no any Chechen units there, only 126th regiment from Ingushetiya, so I suppose that were 126th regiment wounded. So, not all had time to back out and were engaged by UKR forces.
  18. I've written about two days ago about Russian forces in Balakliya area, where initial strike took place - 79th MRR of 18th MRD, 126th Rosgvardiya regiment, two detachments of SOBR, OMON, battalions of LPR mobiks and 60th BARS battalion 144th MRD and some airborne unit elements were in Shevchenkove area 4th, 2nd divisions, 47th division elements - Balakliya - Izium area
  19. This is not exactly true. UKR spear just penetrated positions of weak mobik troops and further combining mech fist and SOF terror on communications caused chaos in enemy C&C and logistic. Russians had there units of 18th MRD, 144 MRD, 4th TD, 2nd MRD, 126th Rosgvardiya operative regiment (light armored infantry), 3rd Corps units, different BARS reservist battalions. But their resistsnce was broken, reserves, as says Konstantin Mashovets were throwing into the battle one by one without any plan - only to close a next hole. You can see how much losses was fixed by Orix for 9th Sep. And this is about half if not less.
  20. RUMINT - UKR troops conducted landing operation in Hotomlia and troops are moving to border town Vovchansk, Kharkiv oblast. - UKR troops approached or even entered to Lysychansk
  21. ...But this is Russia, where the life of cog in state machine is nothing. On some Russian TV-show this well-fed man in costly suit says that: "The westerners and Ukrainains absolutely don't understand a fact, that for Russia such term like "unacceptable losses" just doesn't exist"
  22. "Юродивый" hystorically was not the equal to "crazy fanatic" like it means now. There were people which like jokers could say about true things carelessly on authorities. That behavior considered as some sort of "madness", but simultainously in their "mad speeches" desperated people heard "the Will of Heavens" %) And about Girkin... Well, he is clever, educated in military sebse man, maybe not bad commander with enough kharisma and faith (though even among other Ru nats he has enough ill-wishers). Even Dmytro Yarosh told he respects Girkin as commited enemy.
  23. Girkin is just new "юродивый" %) In times of turmoils in such type of people other want to see "voice of God" )))
  24. This is some exaggregation about "TD in trenches" - all units sat in trenches and fought bloody, while new wave was trained. I would be say, new-formed "separate rifle battalions", which were attached to existing brigades or were used separately, suffered most hard. They had alsmost the same equipment as old territorial defense battalions of 2014. Not always they were motivated, because many of such infantrymen were taken from the streets in western Ukraine and single difference between them and LDPR mobiks was some better equipment (but mostly thanking to volunteers) and at least 2-3 weeks of training instead immediate sending to front. About the training - of "new wave", it had two parts. First in England or other Europen countries during 3 weeks and then a month in Ukraine. I don't know how theese troops were didtributed after finishing the training, because they alreday represented themselves as cohered military organisms. I doubt from they new brigades were formed. In "Frederikus-2" participated old known brigades.
