  1. I am defending with 3200 points on a very large bocage map.Germans are defending a small town against human opponenet. Are the fortification purchases a smart buy?Out of bunker ,trench,foxhole,sandbag wall,hedgehog obstacle,barbed wire,mines.What would you get?Or none at all and stick to a mobile defense plan? I remember from back in the Cmx1 days, experienced players would not purchase any fortifications. I have no experience with new defensive systems other than finding out trenches do not offer much protection against artillery.
  2. Do all of those rules apply for squads and mg's or anything shooting bullets through vehicles?
  3. Enemy vehicles block line of fire , but not line of sight from enemy.Friendly vehicles do not block either line of fire or line of sight of other friendly units, whether they are infantry or other vehicles. Is this correct?

  5. same problem here, only its a halftrack, not immobilized, behind the lines, not responding to move orders

When ordering a tank crew to dismount behind a patch of forrest to scout the other side, they wont follow the path you ordered through the forrest.They go around it, moving in the exposed open ground where they get detected.I never noticed this pre 1.01.I think the tank crew is thinking they are the tank and cant go in to the thick forrest.

Yes it was a crest,and I am not asking for perfection.The unpredictability of commanding men in a battle is alot of what I love about the game.But something is off when a crack crew fires 4 into the crest, knowing it has very little he to spare.I might expect this from a conscript or green crew.

Seems that it still needs to be tweaked.I have a crack M10 that just put 5 into the dirt no where near the target.The command was to area target a building.If it can't target it then why put them in the dirt and waste precious he ammo.Make the decision not to fire, or give me a blocked los from my action spot los check.Doesn't the crack crew no better?
  9. Pause at 50 or 55 or both would be very helpful to commanding the infantry a little more precisely.
  10. Windows, Im not saying there is a major problem.I am just relaying behavior I have not seen pre-patch.

I gave a reverse move order to a ht who clearly was in the los of the enemy.The ht never moved and ignored my reverse command.More disturbingly a 60mm mortar team not in any danger at all on a safe reverse slope undeployed( in the 3rd minute of waiting for it to fire) on its own and faced the opposite direction.Never saw this behavior pre-patch.

I have 1.01.Any advice on getting mg teams to properly face the enemy.I put the 6 man American mg team in the 2nd flr with a covered arc facing known enemy units.I take a closer look and I see some of the guys with rifles facing the enemy, but my main weapon the mg pointing back at friendly positions.Is there away to get the mg to point at the enemy?
  13. I thought this would have been fixed.When you move an anti-tank gun after the initial set up, it moves around on the ground in circles likes its possessed by a poltergeist or something.
  14. Well I guess you can play with rarity on strict and it will simulate more of a realistic mix.

Am I missing something on qbs when you select mixed?From what I can see you can buy whatever you want on mixed, so mixed is more like the old unrestricted.In CMX1 when you selected combined arms, you received a certain amount of points to spend in each category,which would force you to have a combined arms.
  16. Map 97, How did the axis set up in the blue zone?Im in a qb where the axis started in the blue zone.But I can not replicate that setup.What circumstances would have let them set up in the blue zone.It is German vs American.

My goal was not a public attack on ww2steel or to" stab him in the back".I should have kept it in the original thread.I did a seperate post to emphasize to any potential customers that ww2steel is clearly misguided on several issues.A potential CMBN player might decide not to purchase the game based on his comments.The more people that play CMBN, the better it is for all of us.If you feel my post is uncalled for and embarrasing, then you should feel the same way about ww2steel's highly inaccurate initial complaints.

I normaly do not respond to ridiculous comments or defend BFC in any way,they are quite capable of doing that on their own.But I must respond to ww2steel's following assanine comments: First,"I want a random map with random troops for a quick battle. A 'quick battle' takes like 20 mins to even get to the friggin map now!" My 10 year old son creates quick battles of all kinds in 30 seconds to a minute.I dont think ww2steel knows how to operate the game. Second,"(damn it I just want a platoon of infantry and a tank!)" My 10 year old son buys this all the time and is happily playing within minutes.I dont think ww2steel knows how to operate the game. Since these two comments are so far from the truth we can't give any credibility to ww2steel's current post.Ww2steel,please contact me,my 10 year old son may be able to help you on how the game works, especially quick battles. And I would also like to add something about relative spotting.Everyone was on board with this concept from the begining.Now I see plenty of posts from players complaining that I should be able to see this unit or that tank or why isn't my unit firing at the enemy?I know they can see them.This whole thing is comical.
  19. Why cant a mortar without a spotter direct fire to a probable enemy location using a linear pattern or a circular area pattern?It can only use these when the spotter is locating.Why?

  21. In a battle now where I have about 10 panthers, 4 tigers.2 of the 4 tigers guns are knocked out and 2 of the 10 panthers guns are knocked out.Not complaining, but would this be a normal ratio of knocked out guns to tanks or just a bit of bad luck?
  22. I have a schreck with no ammo.I have a guy who has 4 schreck charges and no panzerschreck.They are from the same company, different platoon.Will they share?
  23. Can the he packs that the scout teams carry be used for anything other than blasting threw hedgerow or buildings?Can it be used to attack by throwing it at a tank to disable or destroy?

I agree with the odd tank behavior.What stands out to me is when a tanks spots another tank or infantry and the turret is not pointed at the target.Then the gun and the turret quickly point at the enemy tank and instantaneously fire off a kill shot.Once you turn the turret towards the enemy, Im guessing you would need at least a 3-5 second period to get the proper elevation angle.From a graphical standpoit this does not occur and looks realy strange.Maybe this is all going on under the hood, but it does not appear that way on the screen.
  25. In qbs, how do you know what time it is?It never says dawn or dusk or what time it is.Not that its a big deal.Just wondering.
