first impresion, best module yet, im so into the campaign, started with the germans on Mis 3, thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed the 2 previous missions, well done BF and well done Scenario makers!
-
I loled when i saw the line "should have been wathing the 2008 european championships at home, and a goal over Austria causes the troops to have a high morale"
hope they dont suffer a morale loss when we beat them in the final! jaja!

till you see the whites in their eyes!!! charge!!

probably the most intense release ive ever lived....

It's the file name, and yes it is a code of sorts.
USMC - the scen is for the Marines module
Cmpn - the scen is for the campaign
Dancing in Damascus - is the scen name
vE - the version of the scen. There is some admin overhead in versioning scenarios, because you have to edit the campaign script each time you version any of the scens, but overall I find it worthwhile.
The 'code' is a personal thing I use to keep the scenarios together when looking for files in MS Explorer, etc. The file name is not used 'inside' the scen ... unless you choose to use the full file name as the scen name, or sumfink.
oh ofcourse, the scenario name (facepalm) this is just a code to know which scenario is which, cheers
-
Just one question. in the battle name, for example
USMC Cmpn 18 Dancing in Damascus vF
USMC Cmpn 19 Highway Two vE
is USMC Cmpn 19 and vE and vF some sort of code or do these names actually show up in the marine campaign?
checked and no they dont, so what is it with this code? cheers

Thank you ever so much!!! you = awsomenes

Can you knock a hole in the wall and traverse your squads through it ? ... its a common tactic for urban assaults (see stalindgrad for example)
you can know the whole wall down with engeneers/pioneers
-
So you're saying that given enough time I should start seeing enemy contacts appear? Is that even if they don't move? I know there are lots of other factors to take into account - size of target, terrain etc.
Oh, and what does a exclamation icon meen, a unit that has surrendered or gone missing?
they have routed ( run away )

Does anyone have a good list of good downloadable PBEM playable scenarios? any module!
thanks!

you cant do these if you play turn based thats one of the downfalls of that system

nice try but utterly pointless. NATO is in pre order status in case you did not notice, so there is exactly nothing major added anymore.
Ps.: dont take it personal, i find the FAMAS the most ugly assault rifle in the western world. even the british bullpop is a beauty compared to it.
i agree, and i have to say, a rifle must have some sort of beauty to it, maybe beacause its french...........

downlaod link please, cant understand nought

one thing i was disapointed in afghanistan was the poor info we have on our troops? i mean what are we? 1st platoon, A company 1st batallion? sounds very editor generic to me...
anyway im not sure your supposed to know what are your core units, its to stop their use as cannon fodder seeing as they are expendable

Concurrent questions:
Is Syrian CAS against Blue realistic/likely? I would reckon not. Wouldn't Syrian helicopters and/or fast-movers be interdicted before they got within engagement range of the typical CM:SF battlefield or destroyed on the ground in the first place? Besides, I surmise that coming under sudden sharp air attack, even if a few helos/jets and fuel bowsers remained intact afterward, would be quite an inducement to forgo taking off.
this is why red CAS wasnt included in previous versions (due to the stated reasons) but as players wanted more and more battlefront included it in NATO

nice, im also looking for my first PBEM experience, dont know how it works thow, if mord is interested to play against another PBEM n00b or anyone esle PM

wouldnt be really feasable in most cases, since the AI in this game is 99.9% scripted. you couldnt have an AI that would work with your plans. but yeah if it could be done it would be great

Snipers with Dragunovs should not have any better spotting ability at night, it's not like their scopes are going to suddenly remove darkness or something. I don't know if the vehicles have a rudimentary NOD, but on these types of missions, my prime spotter/killers have been BMPs.
yeah, lol, in that mission 99.9% of the kills where BMP related
and well here the manual extract, not exactly as i described it either:
"Introduces Interface limitations, such as : friendly units need to be spotted aswell as enemis so you can control them, if not you just have to scroll down the chain of command to find them"
actually does this mean if one of my units loses radio or LOS with a command unit it get "cut off" and you need to establish radio contact or LOS again to see them?
-
iron i believe givs an unrealistic advantage to the enemy, and gives you less. so its bascally making it unfair for you, you should try playing on veteran or elite btw what each difficulty setting does is in the manual
Are Marders better than Brad's ?
