  1. I did what I would in real life;

get some high ground at a distance, move infantry forward to get the mujas to shoot at me, shoot back in overwhelming force with bmps, wait 5 mins for all of the artillery to fall on the village, watch the mujas try to escape, pick them off at a distance, ALL DONE AT DISTANCE, no rushing in.

oddly enough, same here, only occupied the mosque and 2 more houses

  2. Possibly the problem may be that you have to borrow NSA computers to run it.

    that too :)

you can always do what ive heard other people have done, make a big map then separate each section off into different missions, easier on the PC and you can simulate a push that takes more than 4 hours :)

  3. Guys, when you use artillery and air support remember that if when you call for it and select Emergency the support will arrive sooner but there is a lot higher chance that it won't land on target and can cause friendly fire.

I've been beta-testing CM:A for a year and I don't remember ever getting Friendly Fire (aside from occasional rocket).

Well i just lost 3/4 of a squad that killed dozens of the enemy, im not happy

the thing is the Hind deliberatelly targetted my units, never seen such precise FF!

and yeah im not blaming the game, its the pixels

  4. First ever Hind flies over and sprays cannon fire all over the place very impressively. Nice, I like that! Second Hind flies over and lines up rockets perfectly down Soviet forward trench "safely" outside the target area... :)

i just did that ambush mission, out of 4 gun runs, 1 directed to an "enemy area" the other 3 right ontop of my troops... like if there were directed towards them...not impressed jaja so much for the legendary HIND...

  5. One thing that is sorely lacking though is a way to have CAS drop parallel to your position. With no JTAC, unguided bombs, and maps where you're usually danger close makes for some scary CAS. Those pilots seem to interpret my target as more of a suggestion :D . Make sure you get everyone in good cover before you call in any bombs.

yeah jaja, i got scared when my first ever artillery shell landing in CM:A, it landed right ontop of my platoon HQ (spotter!) thankfully no one was hurt, but it was a grim reminder...this isnt CMSF

  6. The prices for NATO will be:

    $25 for download only

$25 plus S&H for mail only

$35 plus S&H for download & mail (this is what the pre-order option buys you for $25 plus S&H, and you the bulk of the S&H if you order Afghanistan&NATO in one because the second item only adds $1 to the base S&H)

ah good good , again thank you very much, in this case ill be getting afghanistan today :D and get the download on NATO on release!

    muchas gracias!

  7. Yes, there is. If you were to buy both titles separately with the "mail delivery" or "download&mail" options, you would pay $20 ($10 if you're in the US) for each. So, at $21 you're saving $19 for S&H.

Only NATO is on pre-order. Pre-orders are not available for "download only". It doesn't really make sense to offer pre-orders for that (you can't download any sooner than when it's available for download...), so pre-orders are always "download&mail".

Afghanistan is not on pre-order. It's released. You can purchase it as "download only" right away.

So what you should do, if you want to avoid the S&H, is to purchase Afghanistan now, and wait to purchase NATO later once it's out.

cheers moon , thanks for the sugestion :)! again fair enough.

just one question, the price for NATO on release will be of 35$ right?

  8. (and for the best savings, grab a copy of the just released Combat Mission Afghanistan at the same time! You will not only save on your pre-order deal, but will save an additional $9-$19 dollars on your Shipping&Handling when compared to a future separate order of the two games including mail delivery!)

how does this work? i put them both on my cart but I dont get any extra discount on the A-stan one...or atleast it doesnt show

  9. I really enjoy surveying the battlefield at the end of a battle. I find myself wondering where the buddy aided enemy's casualties were incurred, whether its a blood stain or chalk outline it would make my forensic investigation of the battle more complete. I guess this also ties in with the kill stats, armor penetration details etc etc.

    Basically I want CSI:CM! :)
