  1. hitting targets at ranges of 300 meteres isnt as easy as you think, not that i have any experience shooting a weapon (at least not yet :P) but if you think of the physics of it...

a 5.56 bullet is quite small, add that to the distance, the time it takes to get there, wind, gravity and bullet drop, the movement of the enemy target, their cover...it takes many more bullets than you would think. I am quite happy with accuracy in the game, altough i find myself cursing the syrian airborne for been too acurate at times! jaja

As to snipers, again content with their accuracy

  2. Doesn't it make sense that an air asset would be rearmed before each sortie?

Why would an AH-64D, for instance, not be restocked with Hellfires and 30mm ammo before its next sortie, even if it had fired only a couple of Hellfires and a few cannon bursts?

If an F-16 flew a CAS sortie and dropped two of its four loaded GBUs, would it be sent out on another such sortie the next day or even later that same day with just the two GBUs left over from the previous one?

in theory, the 3 missions are taking place at the same time (or about) so it was designed that all 3 missions share the same support at the time

  3. Interesting moment for me in ammo sharing:

i had 2 WMIK crews dismouted with their GPMGs with their ussual 700 ammo.

i made the fire support HQ get about 3k ammunition from the WMIKs and sit next to the 2 crews that where providing suppresive fire on a building, the 2 crews went up to 3k ammo.

I found this quite interesting and made me feel so imersed in the moment jaja

    great adition

  4. Oooops, well, I am playing the Canadian Campaign and while I wondered why the engineers had no satchell charges, I simply assumed it was a fu by HQ quartermaster (ie deliberate design choice, since I know Paper Tiger never makes mistakes).

So, I just try and accomplish the mission with what I got. Not doing too badly with the first mission. Maybe charges are essential in later scenarios, but not for the first one.

It's funny that "realism" is such a big thing for everyone, but as soon as there is one problem that may make life harder, we hear all this screaming. RL is about regular screw-ups, but tough luck... you have to keep fighting anyway. No redo's in RL.

no charges or radios isnt a regular screw up :D

  5. I wish I could claim I researched the the deployment of every unit in 2008 but I did not, though I did with some, but I did take the War in Afghanistan and the troop surge in Iraq into account. Another thing I considered is the logistics of supplying all the invasion troops. The supply lines will be pretty long especially once the war starts and everything will have to be trucked across Syria eventually to the Damascus area. This led me to being on the conservative side in selecting the Coalition forces. I've since made a few additions mainly attack helicopters and artillery that I will post, but thanks for the feedback. I am happy to consider any changes.

jeje no problem man, it just so happens i have followed 3 CDO BDEs deployments in afghanistan and I am working on a couple of scenarios with them :)

  6. Out of curiosity whats the reasoning behind the UK only having 40 Commando in the amphibious assault? The UK pretty much has the second largest amphibious capability in the world and could easily put a reinforced brigade (3 commando brigade) over the beach.

Not a complaint just wondering, well done thats a damn long list.

i believe 3 CDO BDE was training for afghanistan at the time and about to be deployed, maybe it has something to do with it

  7. I just flattened a three storey building with an airstrike and 155mm arty. I then sent a squad up to where the building once stood only to see them get gunned down by nearly a full Syrian rifle squad waiting in the rubble.

It reminded me of that scene out of the Blues Brothers when Jake and Elwood dust themselves off after their apartment block is destroyed.

Artillery seems almost useless now against defenders in buildings.

    same, something isnt right...
