nah its new I believe it was in the 1.3 new features post

one question, why do my apaches, ordered to target an area with a light/personel fire mission, choose their hellfires and expend them all first before using their 30mm?
PS: im 100 percent positive there was no kind of vehicle in the area, only Syrian Spec ops and Militia on open ground

I always split my squads up, 3 javs each, cover different sectors, for me works best.
I played a PBEM match the other day, and when i targeted one of my jav squads to attack a building it only shot 1 every turn, i didnt need the pause, but maybe i was just lucky

well, something always has the be the main cause of casualties, but in the EID field , i believe hopefully eventually well get there

I like the message idea, i wouldnt find it anoying but very helpful...the ammount of time units in RT have been dying with my atention elsewhere jaja

Personally I find the new system a bit strange, but that's just because I'm not entirely sure how it works. Does it rename just the top leader of each group? If so why does the [little button you press to select commander's unit] have the name of the leader instead of the group? Shouldn't it say 3rd Plt HQ instead of "Crazy Man of Babylon"? And what happens if [the] Crazy Man of Babylon dies? Does "Bob" take over?
exactly, atleast thats the theory

Nice looking map. Very detailed. Looks like a lot of work and effort went into it. Let's hope you do stay motivated and finish it...unlike your PBEM games.
bugger! I got cought xD
thanks m8, working on map 3 atm!

Dont put the palms in. Try and go for the more conventional scrubby trees like these.

fair enough, it was actually one of the things i doubted when i put them in, cheers !

why do people want everything done for them? :S
what happened to "seek and thou shall find"?

Wish I knew. I only saw pictures from the aftermath(s). And dead hostiles weren't carrying any rounds afaik. A wild guess would be PG-V or M, maybe VN?
Maybe it's in the wikileaks documents (though I'm far to lazy to browse through all that).
lol nice one

I think that the NATO and Brit Light forces should have trucks like everyone else!
battlefront already explained why this was not possible, too many things to do that were more important
-
for my area im concentrating on the Nad-ali District, and a scenario on Nawa (Helmand)

Cheers people means allot!

I too have also played with the Germans only, and yeah, the Marder is the thing that has really struck a cord with me. deffinately didnt expect that ammount of firepower
-
same here...I was kinda shocked

hmm I just checked, you CAN change the unit names, but they need to be whole companys, batallions, platoons etc etc you can no longer change the name of a particular unit, say a sections name or a jav teams name...
sorry for that rant up there it was 3am, im ill, I became depressed (afghan part still true thow...)

hey guys, just wanted to share the finished verison of a map ive been working on.
the map is set south of Laskhar Gar, Helmand Province, Afghanistan
its based off Google earth and id say its about 60 to 70 percent loyal to it, somethings had to change tho
Coordinates :
Lat: 31°30'55.14"N
Long: 64°19'18.46"E
most of all im looking for feedback, i think of the maps ive created for personal use its the best one.
im "working" on a couple of missions for a short campaign set with Brit forces in afghanistan, this would be the second mission atm. hopefully if I stay motivated enough, (AND I AM ALLOWED TO CHANGE UNIT NAMES AND NOT THEIR LEADERS!)...
...the campaign will see the light. thanks!
saludos!

I dont understand why they would want to put this feature from afghanistan into CMSF, no sense.
to be honest, afghanistan was probably the worst purchase of my life, 27 euros and ive only played about 4 missions into the first campaign. reason? I felt it was simply a game. I felt no atachment to the units I was commanding.
im not saying work did not go into it, but when I bought it I was expecting briefings such as the ones in CMSF, not the regular, "the enemy is comming, kill them" we get in a scenario briefing...this also went into the generic "1 platoon, Alpha Coy, 1st batallion" on the units, what did you just pop the units you wanted in the editor and didnt bother to give them a back story? it felt that way. the best thing about CMSF is that everywhere you look you get a sense of belonging with these small, but important details, with this gone...It removes modders to deliver this sense of story in their scenarios, campaigns and stories...
its just sad
I strongly wish that this can be rethought, reimplemented, and our happYness reinstated
saludos!

ah now way!! you can say goodbye to my weeks of scenario work if there isnt a way arroudn this...
seriosuly WTfudge Battlefront!!

Shilka - especially a Shilka running low on ammo - has an unusual amount of dead space in the interior. An RPG blasting thought an empty front ammo bin or ripping up radar electronics in the back is not likely to put the vehicle out of action. Poor little Wiesel, on the other hand, doesn't have a square inch of interior space to spare. A TOW Wiesel goes off like a bomb when hit.
is it true that damage models in the game are modelled to such detail?! if so im more impressed of BF more than ever
-
preety nasty
btw does anyone else notice a resemblece of that dutch ICV to a M3 Stuart tank from this angle? xD
-
atelast i thought i saw 4 barrels

the shilka has deffinatelly become a cult weapon around these parts
