  1. Now that I have a better understanding of the game components, it is easy to find the answer in the unit part.ini file. The gunner and loader are responsible for the 75mm gun, the primary weapon. The machine gunner is responsible for the 37mm gun and coaxial machine gun. The commander has the cupola machine gun.

  3. Thank you for making the English version! I completed the 3 missions. The last reinforcement group were the only survivors. LOL!
  4. Played the first battle. It crashed during the first attempt, but that may have been due to me or my computer. The second attempt went well. I was surprised because the germans attached from a different direction to a different location!
  5. It loaded with JSME. The new Russian and German tanks can be seen in the encylopedia. I see the campaign with 3 battles but have not played it yet. This is a significant addition to the game! Thank you for your time and work. PS: le Tour is in the Pyrenees! Wish I was there!

  9. It appears to be possible using Dr. Jones' Mesh Converter. I was able to convert the main body of the M3 Lee tank. All of the components have to be converted and assembled. Hopefully, the M26 model is a good example for what needs to be created in 3D Studio Max. I wanted to see if I could create an M7 Priest. With more than 10 years of experience with 3D modeling in AutoCAD, it should be possible to figure out 3D Studio Max. There are some similarities.
  10. Arzok, do you know anyone who has the 3D Studio Max files for the M4 Sherman? I don't know if it is possible to go backwards from TSE format to Max format.
  11. Is that all you have to do to convert a map from TOW1 to TOW2 Kursk? Just use a TOW2 Kursk type load.ini file? I like the option to change the water elevation.
  12. Writing scripts for mission triggers is the most difficult part of creating new missions, IMO. I hope missions created in the simple editor will be a good way to learn script programming.
  13. The maintex.tga and farmaintex.tga files. I just tried the clear map from TOW2 Africa. The maintex.tga and farmaintex.tga files will open in Gimp for this map. There must be something different about the files from the original game maps.
  14. I have not been able to open TOW 2 map images in Gimp or Photoshop. Am I missing something? TOW1 maps work well.

  18. Sorry, my question was not clear enough. In the Campaign Section of the game, there are Russian, German, and English campaigns. I was wondering if a USA campaign would also display in this section of the program. So far, it does not appear to work. In the game it is a non-user campaign. The user campaign option is set to false.
  19. Interesting that the filesid.ini file already has most of the elements for the TOW2 Afrika maps. If it is possible to have USA in the Encyclopedia, can a USA campaign also be created?
  20. Similar to other posts, I have not been able to use Dr. Jones' SFSExtractor on TOW2 Afrika. It does work on TOW1, so I backed up the TOW1 SFS files and copied over the files from TOW2, and it worked. I don't know what is wrong in TOW2 application, but I have an option that works.

  22. Interesting! I had Squad Leader back in the 80's. I have been wondering how some of the senarios might make work in TOW. I guess the information about creating new nations was not good.
  23. StMere the Crossroad is now working for me. It was all about me understanding the Windows operating system on the computer I am now using and the Jones MOD Enabler.
