  1. Final Blitzkrieg basic details"....Over 330 Quick Battle maps, including maps from all the historical locations mentioned above and more. Mark Ezra has been honing his craft ..."

Mark must never sleep and or has a more than passing experience with playing against the AI in iron mode ?

330 Quick Battle maps with all the associated options is going to be a bunch of CMFB FUN :D

  2. CanuckGamer,

One of the 'early adopters' of CMFI and Gustav Line here.

You won't be disappointed at all. CMFI / Gustav Line is unique in the WWII family of Battlefront games. Once you are up an running you will notice familiarity of the WWII setting .. yet how unique CMFI is. Great fights in more open environments with some rather unique equipment and forces.

Add to this what is heading our way.... " development efforts over to CMFI's second Module; Gothic Line. This takes CMFI through the end of the war and introduces a bunch of new forces. It's too early to spill the beans on details at this point, but for sure you'll see such things as Waffen SS and various Commonwealth forces...."

Going to get even more interesting! Sounds like no other WWII family will have the international force mix and the unique TOE as CMFI.

    Have Fun, Buzz

  3. BFC, if this is against policy, then of course remove this thread.

I asked Kohlenklau/Phil if he'd like me to post this message because, frankly, he does so much for the CM community in the form of modding, making campaigns for us to enjoy, and in general, is a great cheerleader for the game. He gave me the OK.

I wanted to let the community know that Kohlenklau is in the hospital after having a heart attack and bypass surgery.  I just got off the phone to him, and his spirits are good (but he's sore, of course.  As he put it, he feels like he took an 88 to the chest!), and should be back home this weekend. It was a big surprise for him, since he's otherwise healthy, relatively young (from my perspective. lol),  works out and doesn't smoke.  But those factors should help him have a speedy recovery.

If you want to contact him and wish him well, please send him a PM.

So Phil, if you read this, enough with relaxing in the hospital! Get back home ASAP.  You have a Bulge Campaign to start planning for, and a CMRT winter mod to get cracking on!

    All the best wishes, Buddy!

Thanks for letting us know mjkerner

     Kohlenklau/Phil,

Thank you for all you created and shared with us.

Great to hear you are on the mend. Enjoy all the great experiences ahead ... the fun and the delights that life has to offer!

These great experiences ahead are richer after challenges we prevail in.

  4. "Pop smoke" button - likely the most forgotten, overlooked, and under utilized squad resource available in the game, especially within urban areas!  Concealment is good.  Fine advice, Combatintman.  Thank you.

Yes. "..chuck some smoke around and send your lead element across...." but make sure you know which way and how strong the wind blows :) I have forgotten to check and smoke got in my eyes ... and my lead element did not do to well exposed on their crossing.

  5. Steve... "When the dictatorship failed, as they always do at some point, those negative forces were released.  No amount of diplomacy, military action, or outside influence could stop them from going ballistic.  What the outside forces could do, however, was try to mitigate the carnage and infrastructure damage while allowing the fundamental reasons for it to burn themselves out.  At which point the outside forces could help rebuild a new region based on more sustainable borders and politics."

Excellent summary Steve of what some "outside force" could do but has / will not.... so "another 10 years ... and tens of thousands will die along the way". Count one's blessings and luck as to where you live ... every day.

  6. Hello battlefront community,

i bought normandy a long time ago but was unable to really get into it because of a bad concussion.  After I recovered life got in the way but now I finally have time to play games again and can look at a screen without barfing (hurray)

anyways, I picked up Black Sea since I wouldn't mind a modern setting so now I have both normandy and Black Sea.  I have two questions:

    1. What is the best way to go about recon? Right now I am using scout teams with a tiny fire arc so they don't shoot.  This has had some success but I feel like most of the time I manage to spot something they spot me right back.  Anything I can do to improve my odds?

    2. This is probably more subjective but which game should I focus on? I can bounce back between each of course, but would like to start by sinking my teeth into one.  Any suggestions would be welcome.  Thanks!

    Welcome :)   Quick reply 2

CMBN is easier in my opinion to start with. Less immediate in terms of KIA when one makes not the best move. Tons of material in WWII.

CMBS is more challenging because everything happens much faster. Once you are spotted you better have an instant plan that is executed well.

Both are fun so play both but realize the pace in New Modern is faster.... and have Fun Stamos22,

  7. IanL makes a solid assertion (a habit he has) :)
I have yet to play all the existing WWII content and I am admitted fancier of ‘New Modern’. CMBS is on the top rung  of my favorites choice. With work, I have not played CMBS enough to wear her out yet. sburke - “the new game based around the bulge, a module for CMFI, a battle pack for CMBN and whatever is coming next for CMRT….” will be on my shopping list… as Holidays  = more time to play all the CM's we already have :)
    Buzz - CMBS expansions… will be priceless:D
