  1. I like the game. Been playing for a while now along with CM. But in my opinion if you cannot get down and watch the action what is the use? I get tired of watching from the clouds at the action unfolding. You miss most of the little things from up there and when you zoom in you miss other things around the battlefield. I really think they need a turn by turn mode to complete this game and make it compete with the top dog.

  2. Does anyone know of or tried any programs that allow you to stream CM from your home PC to a laptop? I basically would like to chill on the couch and play CMBN but my laptop is not capable of doing it with its hardware. Steam has a function that allows you to stream games you bought from them. I can run ARMA3 on this laptop doing that with no problem. I am looking for something like this. Did some searches but did not find anything promising.

  3. +1 what Luke said. There are no forest tiles or trees in my example. I am not talking trees here but bushes. I can understand a tree slowing down an AP round somewhat but not small bushes. I am just curious if bushes have to be handled by the programming in a similar manner as trees in order to have the LOS or LOF function.

  4. Any word on fixing or adjusting this? I can handle trees blocking shots due to abstraction of the round losing velocity and not doing much damage after the fact but I have had two or three games recently where bushes are blocking AP rounds. No need to submit a file as all you have to do is setup some tanks in a field of bushes and let loose on them. You will see AP rounds exploding when they hit some bushes. I have not noticed an overwhelming frequency of this happening but it does happen. Reading this thread I see the trees were being worked on since CMSF? Have bushes been looked at also?

  5. Look at it like a History lesson. That is what I do. I have been going to the school of BFU for the past couple years. Enrolled since the CMX1 days. Learned more about the wars from scenarios, campaigns, and listening to the old ass dudes here than I did or would have in any actual classroom.

  6. If vehicles will be available to me when playing MP (against an opponent that did purchase the pack) even though I did not purchase the pack, how am I to acquire the necessary files to model the new vehicles? Are the new vehicle files included in the new patches? Or will they be available some other way? I am assuming they will be locked files that you install and only available in single player when you purchase and then activate.

  7. Bulletpoint,

I was confused after reading what eniced73 suggested, for it made no direct sense (based on CMx1 experience; this was my first ever CMx2 QB), but I figured he knew something I didn't. Even so, it's moot, since I didn't save the game, other than taking the screenshot as proof of the deep OT event.

John - I know you have played before as I have read your posts :)

As far as your original question I will explain. Each QB is setup with parameters like any other regular scenario that you would play. You can open a specific QB map in the editor and edit the weather, time, VL's, setup locations, and even the variable ending time. That is what happened on the specific map you were playing - #53 (most likely). This is the only small attack map that has a variable ending time of 0-15 minutes. Thus this is why your battle went 15 minutes into OT.

  8. Hi all,

I have been playing a game today called "This War of Mine" in which you control a group of civilians living in a bombed out house in Eastern Europe during a civil war. The group scavenges for food and supplies during the night, and spends the days resting, improving their shelter, or manufacturing items they can use or trade. Each day is a struggle to keep fed, healthy and warm. Some members of the group are smokers or coffee drinkers, and get miserable without their daily fix, but coffee and cigarettes are also valuable trade items, so it's a tough choice to consume them. Sometimes raiders come in the night to steal supplies, and sometimes the group is faced with the moral dilemma of whether or not to become raiders themselves. It's a bleak but artistically beautiful game that really makes you think about the civilian casualties of war.

I thought I'd mention it in case anyone wants to try this game whilst waiting for CM:BS. It will give you a new perspective on what life would be like for civilians in a NATO-Russia war over Ukraine. I highly recommend it.

P.S. I hope I haven't breached any forum rules with this post. "This War of Mine" is in no way a competitor with any of BFC's games but I think it will make players of BFC's games think just a little bit more about the consequences of their pixel-troopen battles on the otherwise invisible civilian population.

Thanks for mentioning this. Looks pretty slick and the soundtrack from vids I seen online sound pretty cool too.

  9. Are you telling us you have a screenie to finally prove that you finished a game or that you have a QB that went 15 minutes into O.T.? If it is the later then check the QB map in the scenario editor to see if the creator accidentally set the variable ending time to +15 min. That is a possibility.

Was it attack / small/ #53 by chance?

  10. In the other Cm titles we could run people over. I remember using tanks without cannon or mg to clean up infantry.

Nope. Wrong game chief! No CM titles from the old ones up to now allow running over of infantry or ATG's. You could possibly be getting this confused with Theatre of War??

  11. Please stop wasting your time responding to this nonsense. You have already explained and supported with facts your successful business model and I am sure most of us do not care about Doug's tirade and if it will get him banned. You are wasting your time responding to these posts when you could be giving us more important information such as what "fixes" are in the Pack??? Do not mean to come off like a $%ck but I hate to see the limited time you have on these forums spent on these same old stories.
