  1. @Waycool - Awesome, glad you're enjoying it!

@Luke - lol, better tell everyone to be careful with it :D.

@Erwin - Thanks, and you're welcome. That's right, the game will randomly select which texture to use. All you have to do is drop the mod in the Z folder and fire up the game.

@veralum - You're also welcome, and thanks! I don't know if it works with CMFI/GL, since I don't have them in order to see if it does. That being said, it should work as long as they didn't change any of the weapon file names. The only way to find out is to copy/paste the mod into your FI z folder and see what happens. I'd be curious to know what the results are.

@ Peter - Thanks! Sounds like a fun way to spend a day, guns and grillin'. We'll take care of the guns and ammo if you bring the burgers, brats and beer :D.

    @Jorge - Thanks, man!

Yes, that's right. It's finally finished! This new version revisits the textures in my previous mod, adds some additional weapons from the base game and adds all of the Commonwealth small arms. The texture modifications range from minor tweaks, such as sharpening up a muddy texture, changing the color hue or correcting inaccuracies, to texture reworks. I have also added three "showcase" scenarios to the download that lets you easily check out some of the changes in-game. You can also visit this thread to take a look at a few other things in the mod: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=103760

Finally, I'd like to publicly thank LukeFF, who was a huge help in providing feedback, testing and contributing source photographs.

Up for immediate download at CMMODS and later at the repository. This mod is compatible with both CMBN 2.x and 1.X.

Here are a few screens of what I'm most proud of accomplishing. First up are three new M1s. All are based off of existing Garands.

Second is the Vickers. There are four Vickers variations in the mod; a green water jacket with/without a water jacket cover and a black water jacket with/without a water jacket cover.

    Enjoy!

  3. Thanks guys!

By the way, are you in the process of redoing your weapons with version 2? Is your previous work available in the repository? I'm guilty of having overlooked weapon modifications for my own install. Either that or I have just missed all such contributions as I have worked my way through the repository material.

Sure am. I revisited everything I did in the past and am adding the CW stuff into the new version. The new mod is currently weighing in at around 100mb, just to give you an idea of how much has changed. Yeah, the previous version is still on the repository, or you can click the link in my sig to get it from CMMODS.

Beautiful work. However, seems like one of those rare occasions where the shader makes it look a bit too contrasty/bright. The LHS "dull colors" pic looks better to me.

Some of that is due to the in-game lighting. It's getting better, but it's still on the harsh side imo. It's most noticable if your scenario time is in mid-afternoon, which is when those screenshots were taken. Nothing we can do about it.

  4. Yeah, I can do an update shot Waycool :). The flash hider is now more correct with six cut outs around the circumference and the ability to see the booster assembly through them. Unfortunately, I can't get them all equally spaced due to the texture mapping. It took forever to get it to the point it's at now. There's a larger gap between the cut outs on the top and bottom, but whatever. It is what it is. It looks a lot better than the two cut outs on the stock skin. Lacing the water jacket cover was another mind exercise. I think it turned out alright, though.

You're welcome veralum. These should be compatible with Gustav if they don't change any filenames.

  5. Thank you Rambler - will apply as soon as you get it online. How much is missing still?

The Vickers is about 60% done. Have to finish up the top cover area, flash hider/muzzle, trigger group at the back of the gun, and some slight weathering/scratches.

Overall, I'd put the mod at 90% done. I have to put the finishing touches on a couple M1s, finish the Vickers and modify the normal maps for those two weapons.

In regards to the belt, it isn't really white in the actual texture. It's more a very light tan. The lighting in the game makes it appear as white as it does. I think the belt and rounds are well done on the original texture, and I like them. They're staying :). Saves me time too.

  6. You guys are going to be swimming in buttplates in the near future ;). I currently have 12 different combinations for the No.4 with both steel and brass butt plates. I have also done butt plates for a Mk1 Bren, Mk2 Bren and the Sten Mk5.

Also, just to show I am still working on the CW skins, here's the Vickers in her current state. Worked on the water jacket cover just this past weekend. Waycool, if you're still around watching this thread, this one's for you :).

As you can see, lots of love for the CW stuff on my end.

  7. Hmm, weird. I just tested it out, and it works fine for me. It has to be conflicting with something somewhere. Have you tried removing your Z folder, loading up a game, exiting the game, replacing your Z folder and then firing up the game again? I was having some sound issues because I didn't take out the Z folder out when upgrading, and doing that little dance fixed it. Might work for you too.
