To true, even after weeks of intense fighting with a wily opponent, going through the full spectrum of emotions, the agony, the ecstacy, the crazy pyrotechnics that come with the average CM game, it all comes crashing down when i'm reminded of badly rendered shadows....curse you BF for making me this way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be sarcastic all you want. Is it too much to expect a feature that has been in since day one and has already been through one engine upgrade to work correctly? No.
-
Say what you will, at least it can do proper shadows. Kinda of like, oh I don't know, 99.7% of other games out there. Something CMx2 can't even do after five years. Just sayin'...
-
Yes, let us know when it gets printed. I'd buy one as well.
-
CM looking and functioning like that is probably about 15-20 years into the future. I'd put the current state of CMs graphics, as a whole, at about a 2002 level.

Have you tried watching youtube tutorial vids? Looks like this person has a bunch of tuts:
-
Thanks Dan! I'll take a look at it for you, but can't guarantee I'll find an acceptable solution.
-
Thanks. Yeah, there are definitely some mapping issues I've run into. I know you know all about that, Fuser . Can't believe you're still sane after all those vehicle textures you've done!
-
I've had this happen to me as well, even with map preview disabled. Very annoying. BFC knows about it, but who knows when/if it will get fixed.

bootie's updating the forum software. it was up for me as of a few minutes ago when i checked.

How do you get to the dropbox share?

It's classic BFC public relations: hint at an announcement, then go silent for so long that the only possible explanation is that the entire team died in a plane crash, and just when people start to drift away they give in and release a paragraph of info and two screenshots. Then Steve goes off on a least a few people, writing 6 paragraph long posts about how they are too busy to release more than a paragraph of information and how taking more than two screenshots just isn't in the budget. The inevitable grumbling about the lack of new features and "why didn't they include such and such" is quashed by the beta testers with an iron fist. People begin using ridiculous phrases like "our rights as customers" and "you should be happy with what you are given". Then, just when things look their bleakest (2-3 weeks later) they come back with a big release of information and screenshots and a video, to the joy of children and children at heart everywhere.
Classic. You pretty much nailed the process .

Are you talking about the patch that makes the base compatible with the cw module? If so, it's already been released: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=281&Itemid=478

Hey Peter, tbh it hasn't progressed since the last screen I posted. Work has been killer lately, and I've been travelling as well. Things should lighten up in the next couple of weeks, and I'll be able to get back to it. As it stands, I'm 80% done with the CW stuff, and I will probably revisit some textures from my previous release. Don't know when I'll release it, but I can guarantee it will get done .
-
Cool! BTW, I own a K98 and a Garand, so I can help you out if you need any detail shots of those.
Thanks man! Yeah, I'll definitely get with you for some shots when I reach that point.
@Erwin - Fuser did that PIAT, so you'll have to ask him if he'll release it .
-
Well, since I can't edit my post above anymore, I'll just make a new one for a weekly update. A new Vickers (this one's for you Waycool ) from the ground up. Long way to go, but it's starting to take shape:

Rambler, have you thought about modding the M1919 and M1917? I don't think those have been modded yet by you.
Yeah, I didn't do the 17 or the 19 in the last go around. I didn't really notice anything I wanted to mod on the textures back then. I might take a look at them again for this version since I'm seriously considering tweaking some of the US/German weapons I already did.

Dunno if this helps at all, but this page may help: http://smgguns.com/?page_id=106
Thanks Luke. There's a better shot of the buttplate on that site I can use for reference if I end up having to do it from scratch. Still hoping I can take the lazy way out and have someone who has access to a Bren take a pic of the plate .
-
Does anyone here have a Bren, or a Bren parts kit? If so, can you take a pic of the buttplate? Looking for a straight on shot of this style buttplate.

No4 Mk1s are done (Six variations - Three main variants and a sub-variant of each):

Awesome job with the Jagdpanther, Fuser. Love that the weathering is a little more subtle. In regards to your query about the Priest weathering, I probably fall into the minority here. That's way too much for my taste. Personally, I would remove a couple dirt layers, but that's just my opinion. Keep up the great work. How you can churn these out so fast and not get burned out is beyond me .
-
Sick stuff man. Love it! Serious business coming out of the muzzle now...
-
Thanks everyone! Things are moving a little slower on these, but I'll get them done.
@phil - Juju didn't use any of my skins in his UI mod. IIRC he used Marco's silhouettes. However, he did include a Vickers with the canvas jacket cover in his latest UI mod since I'll be doing a version with the canvas in this mod. But as Hister said, no worries with using this and his UI since they're totally different files .

No. 4 Mk 1 - Now with buttplates.

There's already a normal map in the game. It's what gives the water it's 3D appearance.
