  1. Actually T-64 is in Ucrainian inventory (reserve). Since Ucraine is likely to selling off weapons it might be an option, although still a bit too far away... Shilka has no part in this game since its role is not covered in actual game simulation... Speaking about guns I think that much more than any 122mm or 152mm (consider also that they wouldn't have good optics for direct use) a 100mm BS-100 could be applied (last AT gun in russian inventory and quite exported). Finally I'd support ZSUs definitely, since they are very very common. Some other additions: MTLB BTR-50 these vehicles are quite common as troop transporters and artillery tractors.
  2. Please put some Crack/Elite crew on T-72s at least, and with very high motivation. This would be first step to give some chance to OPFOR side, too...
  3. AI now refers to designer plans only (as far as I am concerned there is no "medium" AI between TAC and STRAT AI...). This means that you can play a QB on a map only once, since next time AI will do the same things it did before... This could be heaven though, since AI seems to have not even a STRAT plan for QBs... so QBs at the moment don't exist.
  4. I've had some troubles with AT equipped unconventional teams. It usually takes ages before an AT team or an AT man in rifle team will fire its weapon (still having many rounds left) to a Stryker and such. AI seems too conservative when it comes to AT munitions, in all cases... this could be right in general but when the best target you can have is a Stryker then it's the time to fire, no matter what. This is a clear case in which some command (like the old "use main gun") might become handy especially if you consider the possibility of using missiles etc. (like on BMPs). Actually you can order an RPG to shoot at a striker but you won't be sure if/when this will be done. 90% of the times the struker will see your team before it shot any round-
  5. AI seems not working, try to look for it after battle, actually I (and others) found it always staying in one corner.
  6. Thanks for your reports, unfortunately they confirm bad things about the IA capabilities...
  7. Actually you can model civilian buildings only and not a single type of industrial structures.
  8. Thanks for the infos on the Zulfaghar! About the "units I'd like to see"... well this thread is becoming a bit too much "impossible wishes" I'd like to see in CMSF... For example: you can't ask for a vehicle such as the "famous" russian "black eagle", and this is just because this black eagle doesn't even exist as far as we know (don't be fooled by mock-ups!). Asking for some other tanks like the T-90 might be correct but keep in mind that the Syrian context has its limits. So CMSF will exit this context (and we'll see some kind of such units) OR we stick to real possibilities, vehicles that could really be included in next expansions. This is the only way we can help BFC... BMDs, Zulfaghar etc. actually seem to be good ideas. I'd add the Safir 74/86, some kinds of T-55 with ERA (1st gen) but diplayed in differend layout than the one proposed in the game (which is the russian layout!)... 9. Do you have some reference to share about the Zulfigar3?
  10. Actually ARENA is mounted on T-80 only (as far as I'm concerned). Would be very interesting to see how it could work (this game could provide a very nice test!) although I don't want to imagine how complicated would be the programming of an ARENA unit...
  11. Actually BMPs don't fire more than 1 or 2 shots per 60 seconds... I'd like to see some higher ROF at least when there's a very close and still moving target... Not asking for a 73mm spammer (since there aren't so many rounds..) but in hot situation a crew would be prone to spend its ammo reserve.
  12. Ok but consider that in CMx1 you plaied in WEGO mode only. You could replay the action of those 60 seconds because they were presented as a video of the action calculated, created and loaded by the program during the loading time. If you play CMSF in WEGO it's the very same, if you play in REAL TIME, you can't get such an option, since the action is calculated millisecond by millisecond. So, make sure you choose WEGO playmode...
  13. I concur with Cpl Steiner, would have been nice to see maps etc. added. Considering this was possible it's a sort of missing. True it's not a "major" bug or something, but just a little detail missing. This isn't an excuse though, since those scenarios presented in the final game version to us should represent the best of the best you can dig out from the game. About realistic/unrealistic and made up locations... "where is Al Fubar"... well, keep in mind that "immersion" and such is quite relevant in a game.. maps in this case would have helped a lot. MikeD's ideas for maps sound really great! If they were a standard in the actual game would have been better or worst?
  14. Well, maybe such an option wouldn't be "realistic", but I don't think it should be trashed so easily. I can tell you I like the way the game is now about this aspect.. but if some poeple would like that as an option I see no reason it shouldn't be applied, it's not so difficult it seems.
  15. That's the real pay for playing RT mode. I'm retty sure there's no "time machine" option that could be added without reconfiguring the entire game... I've experienced some frustration too during RT plays but it's a consequence you must accept. Maybe there'll be in the future (next CM2x games) the option to save an entire battle video, but it sounds really difficult to make.
  16. What about a single secondary option that allows players to enable or disable the possibility to issue orders while paused? This way all parts will be happy..
  17. Oh yes, had some hard time with those little buttons up there, I don't write in forums too much... :-(
  18. Now I (and underline "I") am called a "whiner".......... funny thing.
  19. I'm sorry, my english is failing me again: Let's just say there's something behind fighting against wind mills.
  20. There's something beneath even in fighting windmills...
  21. The mouse interface works for me. I picked it up after playing 2 games. --->I dint' refer to mouse interface, so try to read my post. The AI kick (and scenario designer) kicks my butt sometimes (well, most of the time). CM1 AI regardless of what some think to remember wasn't that great. Anybody remember the "targeting bug", where the TAC AI would get confused when faced with multiple targets (especially ones who were moving in and out of LOS? --->I've played all QB with the AI sitting in its starting zone, no moves. During ALL single player maps AI will do what told by the designer and then will loose completely any initiative, it will get killed by your moves, at least this happens playing RT mode. This is enought for me to say there's no AI (apart what modeled directly by the designer). The game runs fine on my (low power) machine. For those it doesn't (especially the high power machines) - thats the price you pay for being bill gates buddy. ---->Let me: This statement is simply ABSURD. I was a CM1 Wego player. I started out as Wego and tried RT, I am now a RT player in CMSF. It makes more sense and for me is more economical for the free time I have (plus its more realistic). Also there is a pause to keep it from being a clickfest. -->I didn't criticized RT vs WEGO. So read my post please. I play both modes and like RT too. My only concern will PBEM games - but I don't think the filesize will really be a issue since we do live in the time of "Broadband". If you are still dialup - sucks to be youi. --->I've good connection and didn't criticized PBEM, DID YOU READ MY POST OR NOT? Of course there are bugs. That frankly what people should be focusing on - what are bugs and what are design decisions. What can be fixed, what in the design can be changed to make it better. BF seems to be trying to do it. ----->It sure is, but thanks to all those who "whined" showing bugs, etc. "All ok" threads are useless for the game's sake.Still I think this game should have had some more testing, some bugs like breached walls-thru, LOS and lione of fires thru walls, hills, no possible to correct fire support orders etc. are quite evident bugs, just for examples. I don't ask for bug empty games, but recognize some of those we saw are too evident. If you have don't like how main core of the game was designed (your not going to get that changed) and your not going to play - fine. But please don't waste everybody time having to weed through the incessant whining.the find the gold nuggets out there. ---> all my comments don't refer to core and unchangeable things, that's why I keep supporting. I seen some touting ARMA - that game lasted 30 minutes on my HD. It was crap. Meanwhile I play CMSF about 1-1.5 hours each night since it was released (bugs and all). Yeah the pathfinding bug, bugs me at time, but I know they will get it fixed. Why you might ask, because it's fun ---> I NEVER referred to OTHER games, this because I'm trying to support this one. FINALLY, IF you'll bore reading my post you'll see I gave more credits and said more compliments to BFC than you did... [ August 03, 2007, 10:21 AM: Message edited by: Kieme(ITA) ]
