  1. Hello everybody! I'd like to present you my first CMSF scenario. Some notes: This scenario represents a US scaled and waving attack onto a fraction of a small Syrian military airport, along with a Syrian counter-attack. The map represents ideally some of the main types of buildings you may find in a military airport, although distances have been reduced for gaming pourposes. Actually this map is playable in multiplayer or Blue side vs AI (a total of 3 different StratAI plans have been set). Screenshots: Welcome to Assad Military Airport: Never ever drive drunk, even in the middle of the desert... I didn't do it! "I eat dust for breakfast!" It's a house! No, it's a bunker! No, it's a hangar! Well, you find what's that. Please feel free to comment, if you don't want to waste too much time you could help me filling this simple form with 0 to 10 votes: Map Design: Fun: General Balance: Units Selection: AI plans: Briefing: Thanks for playing, regards, Kieme [ August 11, 2007, 12:31 AM: Message edited by: Kieme(ITA) ]
  2. Fraps will make the game unplayable
  3. Do you have this behaviour noticed: -in a particular map? -about a particular version of T-72? -what about crew quality? ALL these information can be useful to find the bug, not just a generic report...
  4. Actually the problem seems to me to be related to the great number of "little squares" which must be represented even in the hight zoom level, resulting the the major slowdown. I understand it's not easy to correct, maybe there could be a "special" all zoomed out button that could in one time cancel all the little squares (and in this way you wouldn't be able to put anything on the map, but it's just for this special option) but you could still work on dimensions... This way lag should be canceled... my 2 cents.
  5. Anyone remembers that old game Operation Flashpoint? I'm not comparing the games but for the editor, in OPF I remember you could not only plot in generale AI but you had also some more instruments which you may call "EVENTS". You could order AI to make certain moves/decision just after some event happened. In this case the Event might have been: "no enemy in sight for 5 minutes" and the reaction might have been: "search for enemy presence in a range of 500 meters" Just a swift thought. In any case I still think that some sort of basic medium AI should be added for sure! OR give us many many more commands and options for the AI planning (although in this way you'll spend hundreds' hours to make some AI working and this is kinda frustrating...).
  6. Maybe the bugs consists in the first shot loeaded as default.
  7. LOL, it's Taranto !!! That was a nice one!
  8. Might be possible that the HE round is already loeaded (and so it is first shot) by default? Maybe it's considered the best "all cases" ammunition to spend. Although the first objective for a tank is another tank... so APFSDS should be shot first.
  9. Well if not complaining about the "number" of click consider the "quality" of such clicks: I've to wait a lot of second before the first click makes its work... as I said in other threads some optimization should be done on the editor for this matter..
  10. Never had a chance to talk about TOW, I must say I played the demo and uninstalled it. That is all for me I wouldn't have posted a single thread about that, while caring about this game I'm doing it.
  11. Hey let's not speak about Desert Storm engagements... In any case those T-72 were not used in the best situation, handled and commanded by the best people... Many people refer to desert storm operations as a measure of M1vsSoviet armor (T-72 especially) but that was a very particular situation which is not quite sure US army will face again in such good conditions for its side.
  12. No nO Yamamoto had the opposite idea (he considered the Yamato less useful than a coastal battery), but part of the IJN commanding staff had different ideas about how a modern (for that time) naval warfare should have worked out... they lost their cause (and that was right) and that's why Yamamoto bacame commander of IJN in 1939... Anyway funny thing that we speak about Yamato ships in the same thread dedicated to the M1 tank.... What about the T-72? Shall we talk about sampans? [i'm a great fan of soviet armor though and this last sentence cost me a lot ]
  13. Hmm seems to me there's no way to do that. I doubt a patch could work this out... I'd like to see such a feature maybe we can hope for next CM2x games, mate.
  14. How? Yamato did see combat there, right? To me, the usefulness of the ship is best exemplified by its role at Midway: hundreds of miles behind the action. </font>
  15. I like dalem thoughts. They come from a supporter and admirator of the CM series who just made his mind upon what this new CM is bringing in and what it has left to the past. Personally I like the game in this way, so you might say I've a different position from dalem but I can perfectly understand him. I also have many thoughts about the and tried in other posts to express these.
  16. Stirling it seems so, you need to click since the map moves just a little, it's not a problem at the very first with little maps, but it's quite a problem with bigger ones. I've had some problems with the roads especially with the highway type, which seems to me to be easy to make only in straight away format, I tryed some curves and deviations but seems that tiles textures don't match, so you get an ugly version of the straight one :/
  17. Anyway I reported Yamato as an example and as an example of people who wrongly considered a human creation "invincible". by the way Yamato could have had its moment durin the battle of Leyte gulf... RPG-7 designed in 1950s proved a single untrained man is capable of taking down a modern helicopter or cripple a modern tank. I just don't like such statements like "this is impossible" But form a M1 guy it's Ok, maybe a russian will tell you that T-90 can do the same
  18. Well I'm sure the weapons and airplanes used to destroy the Yamato were very little in terms of costs compared to Yamato's tonnage... not talking about human lifes expended...
  19. First you must recognize that supporting a game means to dig into the problems rather than to express compliments. Second I'm not sure you're a gamer... many people here are gamers who have had many years of experience with almost any kind of game out there (I play simulations since the time M1 Tank Platoon came out, my first game -just after pacman-) and so you must accept that even fierce criticism is expressed (I did for sure) about this game which is actually a great game but with some problems which cannot be accepted easily, I don't refer to little bugs etc. (even though there's a limit for bugs presence I must say this game has some sort of a "medium" bug presence, maye it's nature make those bugs more noticable) I refer to some important missing elements first of all the ability to play QB battles, which is kind of a great missing. If you are a gamer you must consider such problems, if you are not you cannot complain about gamers doing this (with constructive comments). Another major problem is related to optimization for different systems. Please moderate your language too, I'm not sure you can give people "idiots" or such if they "fight" over some discussion (which will be really useful for future developments like they did in the past, I'm sure). Finally my two cents: I'd have preferred to wait 6 more months before the release to get some missing features corrected before the game got out... also considering CMSF won't hve to fight on the shelves against next blockbuster titles like "world in conflict", "Crysis", "Bioshock" and so on.... but this is me. 20. And from which distance too... Mushashy and Yamato were told to be invincible and unsinkable too
  21. Right birdstrike, you made a good point. Thanks for the clarification.
  22. I'm not sure, but seems to me that flavor objects are not afflicted anyway by any kind of interaction...
