  1. If you war gaming friend has a computer that he can bring to your home or you have 2 computer machines, you can direct connect the machines with a cross over cable and play against each other in by PBEM mode using a shared folder for file transfer.

Be sure to have few beers and a bag of pretzels on hand. Set the computer machines up near the TV with a good war movie in the background. All the fun a of a board game without worrying the cat might dance on the board.

  2. Bought CMBB and CMBO the same day in 03. I played very little BO becauss most of my dice playing was Panzer Blitz. I got SF on preorder and quit pretty quick. Continued with BB against my original Blitz buddy. When BN was anounced I finally patched SF but didnt like the one sided battles. Ive ordered everythings sinceon preorder. Hell I burn more cigar $$ than I spend at BFC. Just keep them coming.... The faster the better.

  3. I don't mind paying for each module/upgrade. But I would like one massive game 41-45 maybe even call it "Barbarossa to Berlin - Too".:D That way I can put all QB settings to RANDOM.... "Life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you get inside".

And on West Front too. I'd like to see a combined BN with Bulge thru Eagles Nest.

Just change the $55 for a new game to $40 and change the $35 for each module to $40 and it all works out the same for BFC in the end. Just going to need bigger fancy metal boxes to hold the disks in.:P

  4. I have to say that I'm getting to grips with the game mechanics, and one thing I have learnt the hard way is to pay real close attention to the lay of the land. What is dead ground and what is not. And to micro manage what my units are doing, getting down view wise to their level. A case in point, when it all goes to clag, was when I moved a mech inf platoon into some dead ground to form up for an assault. Except it wasn't totally dead ground; the AI was brutal. I lost half track after half track, and my attack turned into a route even before anyone had crossed the LD. I was slaughtered by guns I could not locate, because no one had eyes on. Good lesson.

Get the grid line mod. It really highlights the contours.

  5. Yeh last night I discovered the 'bug' of jazz saxophonist Grace Kelly playing 'My Funny Valentine' during the game the same way. ;)

I was watching an AAR on youtube. Played a turn and exited the game and still heard the backgroung battle sounds. I made a screen cap of the processes running on Task Manager to prove I had quit the game - but I could still hear the sounds. I posted the thread and could still hear the background sounds. Then I looked at the tabs on my browser. Dang. ..That's where the background sounds are coming from.
