  1. I have nothing against Steam, I do use it to buy games (though not for socializing), and I've never had a problem with it. With that said, I'm not too thrilled with the prospect of CM being sold on Steam, for what some may perceive as an "elitist" reason.

Despite some of the threads I've seen and participated in on these forums, I feel that CM players, as a whole, are more mature, knowledgeable about things WW2, and prone to enjoy slow paced tactical games that require a lot of thought and planning than your average Steam user. I can see CM being released on Steam and, after the Twitch crowd tries it for ten minutes, comments such as "OMGWTF!? CM suxxorz. I Zerg rushed and lost all my DooDZ. Where are the power ups!?!"

My son talks like that. ^^^

  2. support that....

But i think for instance trenches should be concealed anyway, because

Trenches were build up a lot before the enemy-arrival. Units regulary get the training and order to conceal their position.

I didn't list trench on purpose figuring a long trench is harder to hide that a single hex of foxholes, bunker, or gun.

An 88 might be difficult to hide so that might not work they are pretty tall. But it could for a tank to a lesser degree if it's in the woods already.

  3. I'd like to see a "concealment defensive unit". It would be purchased like a foxhole or a bunker. But there would be 2 types of foxholes:

    1. Regular foxholes

    2. Concealed foxholes for a few extra points.

Additionally, bunker/concealed bunker and gun pits/concealed gunpits would be available too.

It would provide 99% concealment for either AT/AA guns and men/MGs. This would ensure that an AT gun/bunker ambushing troops would always get off the 1st shot. Any movement or firing by any troops within the concealed hex erase the concealment effects bonus for the balance of the game - just a one time deal.

Troops could unhide then rehide to get a good look around but not reveal themselves.

  4. I've actually seen motors working after having pretty severe damage done to them.

It's possible the shell just didn't do any fatal damage.

Sure, the engine might grind to a halt half an hour later in real life, but that's not simulated in-game.

Kinda a case of getting shot through the brain but surviving... it's rare, but it does happen.

Somefink like getting stabbed in an unimportant part of the heart.

  5. Back with CMBB there was a scenario I think it was called Inferno. Night time. Mostly FTs and FT Tanks, maybe some light TDs and small early Italian tanks. As soon as there are burning buildings and burning landscape in the game, that one needs a remake. Maybe it was 41/42 vehicles too.

Also I remember one that had repeated reinforcements at multiple locations. I think it had random set for arrival times. Not very historical. Not very realistic. It took "gamey" to a whole new level. But it was plenty of fun against an opponent.

  6. I should figure it how to take a screen shot. I had a IS-2 shoot at a running panzerschreck. The turn stopped at the end of the minute and you could see the shell just passing between his running legs. The luckiest man alive. (But would that have not at least melted his uniform on his legs?)

    Fraps ... 10 characters.
