How do I blow bridges up ? (staf&testers Q)
Dingchavez replied to Dingchavez's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Well, it was just an example to show that you can put a destroyed bridge on the map, I picked a bridge completely randomly, don't lose your sleep or jump out of the window. If you prefer, here is the same map with another type of bridge. I don't want a wave of mass suicide among the forumers ^^ -

It is not a matter of DOING it, it is just a matter of KNOWING that you can do it :-D -

Ben oui, parce que c'est ça qu'on aurait fait dans CMSF ! Of course, that's what we would have done in CMSF :-) -

hi, like in CMSF, you can chose to destroy walls, or the entire building, in the editor. Concerning bridges, you can chose whether they are intact or destroyed. -

You can put a destroyed bridge at the beginning of the scenario, but this is not the same :-p -

Thank you for the answer. creating a night mission with proud paras sneaking across the bocage and then planting charges to blow a bridge was a fantasy... just fantasy :-) I'll make them destroy something else now ^^ -

CM:BN (preview version), what would be the point in posting in this section otherwise ? -

Definition of a Steiner?
Dingchavez replied to Yak Meister's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Be careful, it is a well known fact that there are a lot of mistakes in this book, due to the memories and confusion of the author. -
Hey guys ! I have a question for the beta testers and the staff : I tried looking for an answer using the research mode, but didn't find anything interesting. I am currently creating a mission in which I wanted to make an engineer platoon destroy a bridge. They have demo charges, I set an "explode" order on the bridge, they lie down and do nothing. So my question is : is it possible to destroy a bridge using infantry ? Thanks a lot.

It is not me this time though... EDIT : how come I don"t read the entire topic before answering ? :-p

Beta Testers -- Good laptop for CMBN?
Dingchavez replied to MrSpkr's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
It runs quite smooth on an asus with i5 proc and nvidia gt325, 1 year old laptop. -
I would be pleased if we could un-register a CMSF module on the internet, I mean, without having the game installed on a computer. For instance, during the last 8 months I've lost my data twice (once thanks to a thunderstorm, the second thanks to a crappy hard drive). In this case I had to re-install all the modules and guess what ? I had to contact BF to reset my keys. Loss of time, loss of activations. An unregistration tool on BF website would be really useful, and wouldn't create more piracy. This is just an opinion of course ^^

(Beta ?) splash screen of CMBN
Dingchavez replied to Thin Red Line's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Dear Members, Don't be jealous and let me give a bit of an explanation. Having received a preview version, I asked Martin if I could post a few screenshots at the French community reference website www.appui-feu.com He agreed. I must say that I can't garantee in any way that those screenshots will be acurate when the game is launched, including this splash screen ^^ So this is no fake nor leak ;-) I only had the preview for a day and the only word coming to my lips is : woaow ! If at any moment Martin asks me to remove one or all of the screenshots, I will of course comply. -
Hi ! Except for experience and equipment quality, I don't think that you can "tune" your squads as you want them to be

Do not hesitate to mention any English mistakes, I'm not english native so I wan't to present you some understandable briefings :-p For the French version, just mail me ! About the lethality, it shouldn't be a problem because this is a mission involving barely a dozen of men each side (and yes, it's still interresting to play :- ) ). Thx for your comment solomon ! Hope you'll enjoy the map and the mission. Some objectives bug but I don't know how to fix it...

Violet road is the Kabul/Jalalabad road, where most of the military bases are located its in the vicinity of downtown, most of the buildings are warehouses or businesses, some shops and fields on the other side and it is always crowded, here is a little video : http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=UTKOZ3fD6qU
