  1. MMM the site seems to be down ATM (It did display correctly about 1 hour ago), actually your DNS is pretty shot up: C:\Documents and Settings\Maarten>tracert wargamerscout.net "Unable to resolve target system name wargamerscout.net." Good luck
  2. This one was vs the AI, my first real WEGO try against the AI since normally I play RT. Also playing a H2H game atm, will show some as soon as I can However, i'm not sure about any results
  3. No, the Australian Army doesnt count as a real army; they only play with duplo tanks. Sorry, couldn't let it slide As for 'good leaders' or 'good leadership', the point of view of the one calling out those terms comes into play. As the Shareholder of a company one might have a different view of how good a leader is compared with any direct subordinate of this leader.
  4. Hehe, I had the same and was in bad need of ALLL AT resources I could get. So just rushed my AT3 teams (expanded their missiles). Finally I saw one of my teams firing the RPG 18, however the round didn't arm (or was cought in the slat armour). My RPG-29's & T62MV's did the yob though From the side both of these take out an M1A1 SA with ease.. Ill try to get one RPG 18 on target again (in PBEM) and see if it can take out a stryker.
  5. I did notice there arent to many maps with playable RED ai against BLUE (us). Am I the only one enjoying Syrians VS USA?
  6. Finally the game proved to me the RPG 18 does exit Who said the US is no match for my Syrians ???
  7. Using JTAC's my f16's never missed greatly. Sometimes a little of target but allways still damaging the intended target. Didnt use m too many times though
  8. First parts of 73 showed heavy IDF losses against well prepared Egypt troops at the Suez Canal high elevations. Their AT 3 saggers (and what else) whiped out quite some IDF tanks. (Like ATGM Ambush scenario in CMSF ) I think IDF gaining back the momentum afterwards is more due to strategic decisions which had impact on the tactical scale and the big egyptian flaw of counter attacking waiting IDF brigades and therefore the Egyptians attacking under highly unfavourable conditions. If anyone is looking for that type of engagements, i think only a supercomputer would be good enough to simulate it in such detail as does CMSF. Large scale simulations are available but without any 3d or 1:1 represantation. If you are interested in such things, might as wel look at a company as a single icon. Would be nice though to command the egyptian attack on IDF Suez Canal fortresses with their Heavy WATER cannons blazing away the high sand fortifications and forcing a break through But what type of Forward Observer would serve to spot for the heavy Water Cannon batteries??? Perhaps BF could just include the heavy water cannon in the Marines Module to simulate that effect. Might ass well throw in that m113 then since almost all parties used it en masse. Ofcourse the Marines Module wouldn't be realistic at all without any water cannons. They're marines after all, aren't they? (the above is to be considered keeping the free speech law in mind (in my country it exists to some extent); furthermore it is purely my own biased opinion)
  9. Last time I used them they ware fired one by one and very accurate ( or it did fire hellfires on medium?) in Ash SHammas. They actually all hit the SF HQ which I was pounding, or very near to it. I think it shot 4/5 rockets per pass with 5-10 seconds in between. However, previously i also noticed the map wide spread. That was in previous versions though and I can remember that some patch addressed the grouping. Any1 had anything similar (small volleys instead of strafing runs)?
  10. Theatre Of War handles the 'edge' thing pretty good by restricting movement on edges but the visibility of the map doesnt end. The biggest current maps are just barely playable in RT on my machine so havin much bigger maps wouldnt work for me atleast I bet most of you didn't play 4x4 as of yet, thats a big map with plenty of maneuver space. For RT having more forces then currently possible would be unmanagable in my opinion.
  11. Since I already spitted my guts too much offTopic, here a compilation of In cockpit A-10 strafings, bombings, etc http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=10d_1184951532
  12. Splinty, I'm not saying every Coalition soldier does 'it' or that it's a standard policy. I'm also not talking about 'accidents', offcourse these do happen. However, torturing by agencies (cia) does happen on captured insurgents (egypt, east europe, guantanamo). There will also be innocent people among them as this cannot be avoided. Blackwater havin some incidents as well. By the way, the fact you didn't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen at all. I hope I don't have to explain that. Now, I don't intent to upset anyone and I am by no means comparing USA with Al-Qaida. However, the reasons why USA soldiers are in Iraq are a bit dubious to me. So does the whole (current) government in USA. Do you know who owns the FED (bank)? It's no state property for sure. Does the 'Carlyle' group rings any bells? The 'Iron triangle' in the USA (Defense, Industry, Government) is one big family. They monetize on the policy's set by themselves. Being in Iraq is not only (or not at all?) to help the poor Iraqi's install a democracy. Offcourse Saddam was a nasty dictator, but I doubt if it's any better for the Iraqi's now. Did the Iraqi's ask for a regime change? What gives america the right to 'bring democracy' to other countries? Even though when I think democracy is the 'best' (or better, least bad) of the stateforms we know, it doesn't mean we can help other people by bringing Democracy to them by a military regime change conducted by a foreign nation. This does sound like bringing the 'civilisation' that many European countries (like mine, The Netherlands) did during the colonial age. On one hand america is bringing 'civilisation' to other countries. On the other hand health insurance isn't even payable by most Middle income americans and many big cities have large problems with minorities. Is that the example they want to give the rest of the world, of 'Democracy'? Now I can go on with much more problems, but I think i made my point already. This double morale is the thing that frustrates me, when people (on this forum and elsewhere) keep talking about the US being Angels bringing peace and civilisation among 'the terrorist barbarians'. To be clear: I'm against any form of violence when not 100% necessary and especially against innocent people. I dismiss kidnapping and cutting of heads and disrespecting the dead, etc. However I accept that my view on the world is different then many people in, for example, the middle east. They're not quite happy about Israel's politics in Gaza. They see Israel allways helped by USA. They see 50 dead Palestinians for 1 dead Israeli. They are scared Western culture destroying their own traditions, etc etc etc. While maybe not always rational from my view, who am I to say that "WE" are right and "THEY" are wrong. That kind of arrogancy annoys me and makes me angry about the lives lost. If you talk about USA soldiers fighting insurgents in Iraq please use the appropriate words to indicate what you want to say. A little biased opinion is OK offcourse, we're all biased. But if i'm given the impression anyone is convinced USA is doing 'such a good job' in Iraq and in the world and spits gutter at other opinions, he'll hear it. And i'll happily start a discussion about it (in an apart thread). A discussion using arguments that hold value, not claiming facts because of what 'someone saw'. As a last notice; I wish all USA (/other) soldiers a safe trip home and hope the current violent extremists find their peace and live in happines.
  13. I fully agree. By the way, this includes both sides in Iraq. The difference is that one does it openly and the other sneakily. That said, I think you have made a cowardly post by first telling us your opinion, to end with 'start your own thread'. If you dont want a discussion, then dont react. This post asks for a reaction but at the same time it says 'go somewhere else'. I'm looking for the right word here; hypocrite comes close. Regarding usage of the word 'terrorist' as in someone that commits acts of 'terrorism' (and not: Terror), it might simply mean something different for you then someone else: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Definition_of_terrorism Your person serves as a perfect example as how shallow is the vision of the Global situation expressed in acts by the USA and vocally expressed by it's President: "You're eiter with us, or against us". In other words, you create your own reality and everyone that sees things different can drop dead. Perhaps I have understand your post wrong. This is just my opinion about the USA's global politics and not about all citizens of the USA. Ok, have fun with your thread. It was about gun runs by the way, might you have forgotten.
  14. ssshht... just payed two months rent aka 1000 Euros I see that's just about 1 Abrams shell, given the current EUR/DOLLAR exchange rate. Perhaps you could trade a EUR 1000,- for 1 cheap HE Shell delivered to my Landlord? Preferably you deliver it directly from the smoothbore So, do we have a deal?
  15. recently played it again 7 WIA 1 KIA. Arty does work. I like to go for quick missions (general ordinance) on individual buildings. Apache medium attack does some nice things as well. Javs & mgs 105mm's to finish m off. Take the High Tower with sniper mg's javs and spotters. take the barracks. advance to SF hq. cautios take the airforce building. pound the SF quarters.. give m hell. then push hard towards it. Got a total victory, both parties inside to SF HQ so both no points for that. Got the other 2 and some other conditions and gave me a total victory.
  16. I also didnt play the game for some months, mostly because of work and I fell out of playin it. Had some good games with Jmayer i think though, some months ago.. Multiplayer is really awesome in this game, apart from the bugs etc. I see the new mod is in place. How is it working? I thinking of startin it up again, however I dont have a lot of time.
  17. Lets call 'em 'Humans'; they tend to act like foolish heroes
  18. I dont really have big problems with infantry pathfinding. Most of the time they stick to their waypoints. Perhaps it is the way how you place them? I tend not to place them to close to eachother. I place them quite straight forward so they can decide the details for themselves. This has gotten lots better since I got the game (1.02 orso). The only problem I have now is how to clear houses cautious. Hunt works the best but i cant say im pleased with it. Ofc house cleaning is a dangerous thing and should lead to some casualties now and then, but i having an option to throw nades and or a choice between charging / cautious entrance, would be nice. Now its just prey and hope they spray Ok, now really off to bed :S
  19. Hehe, I still have Rainbow Six raven shield installed and strangely enough, there stil lots of players online who wants to receive 9mm FMJ rounds from the TMP OnTopic, just completed Ash Shammah (Airport, 2nd campaign mission) for the zillionth time (7 WIA, 1 KIA, Total Victory). This time the uncons seemed to be hiding much more as before. Quite realistic i think, who wants to pop out their heads when 5 strykers are driving in front of the windows and 80/120mm Mortar shells fly where bullets cant come. Didnt even mention those Apache's... I even had 1 of my grunts suffering from (post?) traumatic stress disorder. They came out a stryker and under fire in front of the Airport HQ. Then as he leaped over a wall he lost it. He kept leaping the wall front back front back [...]. One of his team mates actually became KIA trying to save him. In the end under lots of smoke cover he finally got back in the stryker. Now how's that for Infantry AI realism P.S., it might be a bug. Have some save files around that time, however I doubt if its reproducable since it was the first time I saw it. Might be stress disorder after all
  20. No personal offence meant It's just that your not the first one that posts about how they've uninstalled the game from their PC and shelved it behind 10 books, etc etc... Glad you like the forum, must admit that I too still come here even when I didnt play the game for some time. Ofc we all get bored sometimes. Since my post is far offTopic anyways; no i dont keep Doom installed on my PC I meant to say that I keep games installed when i'm a lil bored with em, happens to every single one of 'em. Games I uninstall are either really old or wont survive the HD for 1 day. And then I wont go into any forum talking about it, luckily I can spend my time better like here, ranting on guys who do Night night
  21. Those minigun equipped blackhawks are mean machines, thats for sure However I tend to believe this was just a show of force, no enemy's in the crosshair. Still, those miniguns even scare you away from a distance Not sure about it, but I think Apache's (longbows) are better in providing (night) cas. They have plenty of visual & nav systems which gives them ability to fire of from far away. Those miniguns might look impressive, i'm pretty sure a pilot would appreciate a longbow better. Too bad we dont have the possibility ingame to cut these choppers down
  22. One thing that bugs me, why people keep uninstalling games they get tired of (for a moment) and posting that fact on the very same forum of that game. If it bugs you, buy a reasonable HD and there is no need for uninstalling anything you intend to play in the next year orso... Otherwise, what are you doing on a forum of a game which was worth so little to you, you can't even allow it to take up a few GB's??? This information is not of any value to anyone that is in the CMSF forum I never uninstalled CMSF, keep two seperate installs but yet didnt play it for 4 months. Oh, I did uninstall COD4 recently and Blitzkrieg2 about 2 years ago. And [...] was uninstalled X years ago. Anybody interested in that type of info??? I can e-mail you about everything I installed and uninstalled the last 2 years. EUR 22,50 per e-mail, payment up front.
  23. Damn... I can understand you didnt get handihoc's joke after all that work
