  1. Probably the game is calculating the inf. assault on tank, droping handgrenades trough the open ports and hatches, same as happend to Ferdinands at Kursk, assaulted by inf without heavy weapons. br. Dr.Jones

  3. Flatline, the trick is to have after the destroying the AT guns, the tanks with enough AP rounds left to destroy tanks on the hill, first target the tracks of the tank and then the turret. The game usualy end also if the tanks are damaged (tracks blown off), just clear the infantry around the hill. br. Dr.Jones

  8. First don't rush with inf to the guns, it's suicide. You have to micromanage everything, so attack those guns only with 2 panzers, take Pz38 as decoy, and Pz4 as hunter, after you destroy a AT gun, go into retreat (drive backwards, dont turn around), and re-move to another location to kill the other guns, dont stand on the same spot when you kill the AT gun, try to face just one AT gun at the time, thats the trick. If you engage 75mm gun, you must destroy it quick (take great care to put in main hunter tank the best skilled driver and gunner). Oh yeah, loading and saving helps. br. Dr.Jones
  9. You reboted only in case that you havent had the directX9c, that would be the only reason to reboot. br. Dr.Jones
  10. Have you launched "Configure Theatre of War" in start menu for TOW. There configure to minumum options, sound off, etc, or try to read FAQ on problems/solutions on the top of the forum. Anyhow your computer should run this game with average framerates. You can even try somelong shot solution, look for spyware in your system, this is always my last solution. br. Dr.Jones
  11. Can you login, if you cant try reseting the computer and holding down F8 key you will be then asked a few options, select "safe mode" VGA ,and try to deinstall the codec. br. Dr.Jones
  12. You can't, you can only capture abandoned equipment. br. Dr.Jones
  13. But has anybody seen that your crew members die phantomly, becasue of snipers, or other x weapons, or just some random death because the hatch or some else was hit. The trench had a few AT rifles and probably some snipers. br. Dr.Jones
  14. Has anybody seen in this mission, that tank crew of PzIV were dropping like flies when assaulting the trench, and there were no other tanks left or AT gun. It was like crew member was disabled for clicking and was grey out first, then the crew member disapeared completely, but I noticed a hit in drivers or gunner view portal (but hits could only be made by hand held AT guns, no other major units arround, later I destroyed all the 4 T-34 mod 41), I lost a machine gunner and a commander that way. I was playing veteran level (always do). br. Dr.Jones
  15. Nobody has done the TOW mesh writer,or reader it would reqeure quite some work (time), but i think it's not that difficult atleast the base stuff anyhow. All units, have a lot of parts, and linkages of meshes and abstract parts with abstract and real data, for this you would need to write special model editor just for TOW, that my opinion. Scenario would be import some standard mesh (3ds) into editor (done in Max letsay) and edit data in this editor and this editor saves all necessary data as msh files and ini's, I guess. br. Dr.Jones

  17. I'll make a guess. I think the russian version was 1.0 and sold there, then BF saw the game and wanted to sell in Western Europe but with corrections and some new features, so I'll guess that's when 1.2 was made for us. br. Dr.Jones
  18. This would not be a problem, for vehicles, but the skinning of soldiers would be, because unifroms look very differently, just replacing texture on the uniform would not be enought. This would work on for contries with same uniforms. br. Dr.Jones
  19. Not theoretically, it can be done practically. This would be very easy to add new PzKpfw as old graphics but with new stats, also i found how to read ammo's. for more info email me. br. Dr.Jones

  21. I think my mission generator for S:HOWW2 was used as the basis for the Faces of War dynamic campaign generator - not sure, though. What was Faces of War like compared to S:HOWW2? (never played it) "Soldiers" was a fun game and in some ways the most realistic (at the time) in terms of vehicle damage and weapon modelling, physics, etc - shame the missions were so small and limited. If a map/mission editor had been released for that game I might have stuck with it. I also tried modding Blitzkrieg 2 but gave up due to the difficulty of modifying the campaign missions. I'm thinking of creating a mission/campaign mod for TOW, with more historically accurate vehicle types for the date and theatre represented in each mission, also soldier weapon loadout changes such as SMGs/rifles for officers (I'll wait for the patch first though - assuming it isn't released before I get the game in the mail; it's possible that this will make some changes to the missions). Not planning on doing any vehicle skins though, even if it is made possible, as there are many people here far more talented than me at this (and the default skins in TOW look pretty good anyway) </font>
  22. Hehe, it works, we can replace skins in TOW, this could work also for sounds! I replaced main tex for Tiger tank and it showed in encyclopedia br. Dr.Jones
  23. Just want to remind you all, that TOW support skinning of vehicles by date of mission and by the season, and also supports division insignias. br. Dr.Jones

  25. Hi, try destroying the at gun's with Panzer IV, they have better HE effect. Also in this mission there are a lot of AT gun, you need to distract the AT gun with 38t (because it has better armour, but low Ammo count, so spare ammo on this tanks!), then drive the Panzer IV from other side to the spotted AT and kill it, and after the at gun is destroyed reverse the tank backward, you need to do this for all the at guns which are before the hill in the valley. When all at gun are destroyed you get the reinforcements and then with those storm the hill. The main thing here is NOT TO RUSH all the forces forward, just use 2 tanks (Panzer IV and 38T), one as at killer, and the other as decoy. Try to use the inf as spotters (no fire command is a must, and crawl). br. Dr.Jones
