  1. yes very true... was just curious more than anything. Realtime is a bit of a double edged sword, the action is intense, but you can definitley miss things by focusing on one particular part of the battle too much... like accidentaly charging my infantry into an MG nest to busy to notice cause Im watching a panther get mauled
  2. HA HA!!!! just got TOW installed and operational.... this game kicks ass! sure there are differnces between TOW and CM... and maybe it still has a few wrinkles to iron out, but overall, nice job I say Congrats to Battlefront and 1C Rock on with ya bad selves Does anyone out there know if you can make TOW into a turn based game on sinle player... I read somwherre that this was possible, just wasnt sure if that was multiplayer or single. Cheers
  3. Just got XP on my iMac C2D machine in the weekend.... works perfectly! is now running CMAK without any glitches (although it would be nice if it supported a higher res.) TOW is also running sweet at full video settings - this amazes me, as Ive read loads of posts about people experiencing very low FPS on PC's. The only thing you need to check before installing bootcamp is that you have downloaded/confirmed the latest frimware is installed... then just follow the prompts and wait 1hr for windoze to install itself. Hermitage, if you buy a new mac you will also have 2 button functionality on the mighty mouse - 1 button, but it recognises what side of the mouse you are clicking. Buy yourself one of those new dual quad C2D suckers  ... youll be honking along without a care in the world
  4. Im running a 17" core2duo iMac with the ATI option. Im about to install bootcamp to get the TOW demo running. Everything Ive seen in the TOW forums seems to indicate that it will run fine, though I will probably have to optimise video settings to get it running smoothly... CMAK should be a walk in park I should be up and running in a couple of days, Ill post some feedback when everything is running smoothly *touch wood* Other than that, the Imac C2D machines are great, I havent had any problems with mine... even out performs my bro's dual 2.8(?) ppc on games like COD, Quake4, Doom3 etc
  5. Thought you guys might be interested in this. I was watching a programme on the Battles around El Alamein the other night. There were gun crews maning 2pdr AT guns that waited until the panzer 3's were right on top of them, easily within 15metres before they opened fire... and when they did, they were ripped to shreds. There was a bit of propoganda footage taken the next day showing them firing at these wrecked tank carcasses with the AP rounds going straight through and hitting ground about 100meteres away (they were firing through the sides on tthe tanks) I know TOW isnt desert warfare, but I think the tactics employed in terms of letting the enemy get close is pertinent. Who knows, I could be totally off the mark... Im still waiting to get XP for my Mac so I can get playing.
  6. excellent, will give the demo a try out tonight I think... thanks for the advice. I do have to smirk a little, when the macs running windows seem to be experiencing fewer problems... touch wood, than PC's running their own native OS Cheers
  7. Hi all, just looking for some feedback. From what Ive read on the forums so far, there only appears to be one problem that mac users have encountered with TOW, the old screen flip thing... which seems to have been solved. Im running a 17" 2ghz iMac core2duo, with 1gb ram... this should be enough to run ok? From what Ive read so far there doesnt seem to be anyone running TOW under bootcamp experiencing low fram rates? Thanks in advance
  8. Im guessing that it was probably unmaned... surely you wouldnt be sitting around with the hatch down so some sneaky little mutha ****** can blow your ride up
  9. Thanks for that Schrullenhaft, that link sounded promising... will just have to keep faith that MAC users wont get ignored. I held onto my G3 iMAC running OS9.2 for 6years so I could keep playing CMBO... If thats not dedication I dont know what is Once again, thanks for the info, you wouldnt by any chance know where I could find a copy of bootcamp would you? Cheers
  10. Hi there, Not sure I should be posting this here or not. Sorry in advance if it shoudl be somewhere else :-/ I have read through a lot of the posts here and am still confused as to what the decision is re: the progress of a native MAC version of CMSF? Am I correct in assuming that there will be no version available for PPC or UB MAC's? I havent run boot camp before, I dont imagine its too hard... but I was REALLY looking forward to being able to play CM on my mac again... under a MAC OS, not windows. I have a 17'' iMAC 2.0ghz core2 duo, ATI Radeon X1600 video (128mb?) card. Would this be suitable to successfully run CMSF under bootcamp? Sorry if all of this has allready been answered previoiusly... Im a bit of an Ubernoob when it comes to machine specs. Cheers
