  1. If you invade Egypt, Gibraltar should be a priority right after. Therefore, Spain must be Axis, by diplo or force With both (Egypt and Gibraltar), you can "lock" Med and spare a loooooooooot of garrisons. In fact, it's kinda difficult for Axis if they can't or don't want fully control Med. Africa should be evacuated sooner or later if it become too costly. Keep in mind the most important thing: Beat the bear, win the war!
  2. Axis : as much as possible. AF and tanks are more important if you have enough HQ, but i prefer buy an HQ than 2 armies Allies : scale with the built units
  3. I'm not sure that elimination of Hussein Saddam did anything for the US victory in Irak. As i'm not sure that it were a boeing that hit pentagon For war, it allways been the best "getcashforfree" action in history. Nobody is driven into war by ignorance, and no one who thinks that he will gain anything from it is deterred by fear.
  4. Italy is the only "major" country that doesn't receive (for free) an HQ. They must buy one (if the player want it). That's kinda strange when you see Spain and Finland have one (even at str 5). More important, they use a specific MPP pool, so they must do very difficult and important choices : research? air fleet? tank? HQ? repair fleet? Engineer? etc... I think they can produce up to 3 ou 4 HQ, but that's so expensive for them... Why Italy haven't an HQ at start or later (script?) in the Fall Weiss campaign?
  5. Unpredictable events are great. But there's clearly a flaw when my Russian army had BT-5 in january 1941 and IS3 in april 41 In another game as Axis, i had HT0 in 1943. Won anyway but i had chits in HT since late 1939... almost 3 years without any kind of improvments?
  6. Research is pure luck, sadly Sometimes, you have no hits at all and suddenly, you have multiple hits in 3 turnes... During a game (as ally), my opponent had IW3/AT2/motor2 while russia were IW1/AT0/motor0. And suddenly, i hit IW3/AT2 and HT up to 4 in few months... /shrug I really like the random idea in tech, but it should be mix with some kind of "fixed research" to smooth the process. No way you can produce IS3 tanks 3 months after BT-5
  7. Overall, i'd say that any amphibious transport shouldn't be made without a very important reason. Sealion is almost suicide against a good ally player. Norway and Sweden doesn't look a good idea for me, as you get convoys for nothing. Why should you invest MPP in amphib, maybe a fight against the RN and leave units in norway while you need them elsewhere? Maybe go for it when you have Leningrad, diplo Sweden (i love Swedish air units ) and Finland. Cities and mines will be at 8 instead this losy 5
  8. Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it. Instill fear of "others" in your population is a way to control it. History fact
  9. Maybe try to improve/modify the silent option on subs? It's useful only when you have a sub on/near a convoi route, so i almost never use it; it's way too risky with cruisers roaming on them, better be out of the way when you are not raiding those routes
  10. I don't think subs can give sea superiority to axis by themselves. But they can be a real MPP pain for allied player by just existing and roaming atlantic And when you see that UK needs only 2 fleets to lock the path to atlantic for germany, axis must battle to open a way to their sub...
  11. About attacking Russia from south: I tried during 2 games (multiplayer). 1) Only with italians : 1 QG, 3 armies My armies were stuck in mountains, impossible to go forward. And impossible to go back Won by crushing russia with germany 2) I sent an Afrika corps: 1 QG, 1 army and 2 panzers I achieve the capture of 2 cities and 2 oil fields with tanks, but then i was stuck too: the two cities were max supply 3 (impossible to operate) and my HQ were unable to reach them (stuck in the mountains) So i guess i need at least 2 HQ to resolve this supply problem? Another point about supply in north africa for axis : Cities and ports are allways at 5 supply. Can they reach 8 (or 10) by making Spain or Turkey join axis or the "detroits" (gibraltar and the turkey'sone) aren't land tile?
  12. This moral effect is way too powerfull. I understand it's a part of the gameplay and it make sense with the fall of poland, then France. But in 42, fighting for their survival, do you really think russians care if Tunisia surrender? :/ More important, players pre-DOW a minor just to avoid the moral loss/gain! It's clearly a flaw in the game when you declare war against a country to keep your country's moral... The MPP income you give to your opponent is nothing if you compare with the moral effect... "We are at war, things are bad. Let's declare war on Swiss!" A solution may be to add a fixed ammount of this moral effects, depending on the country. Poland and France should have a huge moral effect (like it were during the WW2) and neutrals should have a reduced but logical moral effect. My 2 cents...
