  1. WAW Playing Allied vs (+50% AI German) May 1942. US troops still cannot land in english port. US Air cannot operate to Britian. I assume US at war. bug?
  2. AA only chips away at air. It doesnt stop air attacks so it shouldn't be too powerful in the game. Just irritating enough;)
  3. Excellent mod. I read able to play pbem...does AI work too? well actually did a turn and it does but is it capable AI script like the original? If so..WW2 starts.......again:) Oh yeah.when is the new add on due out:)
  4. Good. Even different starting positions. The fact people are solving the battles the 2nd time around, more like the 5th time in most cases is because they know where everything is. That's wrong on all accounts..turns the game into a puzzle..and defeats the FOW which might actually be portayed very well here. I'd like to see a battle generator and able to pick your units..perhaps with the choice of a small battle or larget one.And of course a minmum 2:1 attack ration.
  5. That's the problem. You have to replay a battle to know where everything is before you can beat it. That's worse than all the non-realism anyone could find in a game. At that point the battle its just a puzzle to be solved. The attacker does not start with enough force. The the battles should be played 1st time only as that's the heart of FOW and sighting. That's why this game needs a battle generator..which according to the developers is hard coded and this can never happen. Therefore the game is ulimately doomed no matter how many amazing things there are and there are a lot. But thats the only real reason to play it. To check them out because they are infact cool.

  7. The Jadgtiger was near indestructible. It had a 128mm gun, a ton of armor and was a antitank killer, no turret thus low profile. Dugin on a hill it was a tough nut. The good thing is they didn't have many of them..and by then with allied air power..it really didn't matter.
  8. I guess I'm playing with the 1st beta. I have 7 Ger AF. 1943 and I'm just about done mopping up Russia..although I have yet to get past the urals into what's left of the russians..which is a fair amount. I might have shifted things to the west to quick and not left enough in russia. I attacked Vichy africa knowing the US likes to invade there. I pummel them with 1 elite panzer and 2 ital elite air...and 1 ital and 2 ger strategic air. I really like using them to attack ships and obliterate transports. Rockets move too slow to get much done in the east so I usually put them in france for defense.And if the allies invade they make for nice ranged attacks. I definitely like this mod..although I never played A3R...I was an expert at regular 3R:) Thanks for the work. Awesome!!!!!!! I'll wait for your hot fix to start another game.
  9. This game is well over Chazman's head. I'd like him to lay prone in the grass and with my excellent spotting abilties (scouting) see him whine when a bullet goes through grass and hits him. His only real gripe the game doesn't have is entering bldgs, not a game stopper but for him it is as he would like to hide in a stone bldg since grass didn't give him any cover. But then you'd hear him complain when a heavy artillery shell flattened him...at which time Chazmen is dead..stick a fork in him.
  10. I use a programmable device for the left hand.(Ch throttle) I get around with the camera so fast it's not funny. I don't even have to use the middle mouse button. The camera is actually superior to CM.

  12. Generally speaking..81 mortars and higher were off board at this scale. 50 and 60mm mortars were carried around. As to the Hummel and Wespe...they were used in emergency defense late in the war as direct fire weapons.....hence they're avail onboard.
  13. Ok I tried the save game..once..and once was enough. Utterly defeated. Of course this game *is* hard. Most of the PZ IVs were trapped within bldgs and facing the bldgs. So where's the ambush. Also a russian inf went thru town first..I'm sure he got a look at me:) 5 dead. 1 Russian dead.
  14. I hope the LOS concealment adjustments are true fixes of things that may have been off and not enhancements for people wanting more concealment...then again it's all relative and a tree can simulate a bunch of trees... And make sure the AI has the same restrictions...naturally:)
  15. Char B..ouch..even the rear is heavy.. Don't know the stats and I'm sure somebody will but....years of playing squad leader Char B's were no joy..except for the 88. I want my 88!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Whaco..did you read the thread on the developers explanation of it? There is no bug. It works how they intended..unless infact it is wrong. Clearly the manual states a colored icon can be seen. So why do people insist on first person view to be the answer of LOS, it's not. Furthermore you're looking at naked eye..not a maginifcation the gunner and commander see. Furthermore trees don't block LOS. Take some binocs and look thru a few trees..not a forest and picture a tank there..you will see it. Now one could complain there are no forests in the maps to hide behind.. What's different is it is different from other games where you are used to a tool that draws a straight line for you and anything that intersects it blocks it. Yeah I know LOS is the no deal breaker for you guys. But I read "if I can't see him then he shouldn't see me and that clearly tells me they have no concept of it.
  17. Ah ok..you had other issues with it...thats cool. If it was only waypoints I just couldn't see it. I'm not to fond of the enemy AI either..

  19. You may not like it...but waypoints and LOS aren't the problem..other things are. LOS is correct. waypoints..I mean really..that's going to stop you from playing and too high a price for a game "you like". assuming you liked it..which may not be the case.
  20. Yeah I agree on the missions..and the you get wiped out..get reinf...wipe him out..rinse repeat. It loses the feel of immersion. Things seem to die too fast too. I won a battle. Everything dead except 2 men and a tank crew from a tracked sherman. Lol..I exited the tank to finish off a couple inf..then took fire from 2 more so ran back to the tank to get them. Funny stuff.
  21. What makes you think radios aren't simulated Chazman. That's why you see opaque icons.
  22. ATGs were often a one kill wonder too. Once they fired and were spotted...armored columns came to a stop until the supporting inf took them out.
  23. I'm not really into micro managing each soldier..but I don't think I have to to win either as the default isn't exactly a lost cause. Sure you might get a little extra edge micro managing..unless I'm wrong and that is the only way to win The two things I don't like is capturing equipment and immediately using it. That just didn't happen that much. I'd actually like to see that part of the game removed. And then the sniper hunting ATGs might be a little too gamey. True enough there are stories of snipers holding up entire BNs. Of course an ATG is supposed to be protected by inf and if that stops the sniper then cool.
  24. "It should be obvious if something is hidden" ? See, that's what the past games have done to people..cues on what is hidden..los lines. If something is shooting you..you're not hidden and you wouldn't know you were hidden since you don't even know whats shooting you. That's actually how it was. I don't know if the code is accurate..but if it is...it's far more realistic than the games before with their sterile cues of los and hiding markers It's not hide and seek. If something is firing at you and you can't see what it is..get the hell out of dodge. Don't keep sitting there saying if I can't see him he shouldn't see me. You can look for muzzle flashes if you dare stay around but it's best to leave, back out if you're a tank ..and scout whats firing at you out there. It could be tank, an AT, or a howitzer.
