  1. Game don't have full access to its folder and can't save anything because of that. Your OS is Vista?
  2. Regarding gun disabling - we don't try to balance something by setting some % for disabling the gun. It's kinda complex modelling, not some probabilities. Gun is not just simple barrel - it consists of numerous mechanisms in the turret, etc. Because of that a hit into turret side can disable the gun in addition to killing/wounding crewmen. For example, Panther's gun gets disabled a bit more than, say, T-34s. Why? It's big gun mask occupies entire turret front, and a hit into turret which penetrates the mask will disable the gun. The mask itself is thick (110mm), but if Sherman 76 shoots from close (100-200m) distance it will penetrate it or at least severely damage gun mechanisms and kill crew behind it by internal spalling. And it's difficult to miss at 100-200m even for regular crew... go figure. It's one of the cases when physics model show it's teeth... we would like to be able to balance it as we please, but it can't be done easily without introducing artificial 'helpers', thus making model accuracy questionable.
  3. Run mission editor (Theatre of War\MissionEditor\Editor.exe), not the map builder. Deleting some enemy units will be safe in most cases, but may cause errors in triggers which result in strange AI behavior if mission designer assigned some task to this particular unit, not the group.

    patch?

Unofficially, i think there will be huge (~1.2Gb) patch with new visibility system before end of November and smaller patches for various versions with updated MP and other fixes near the same time. Visibility patch is so huge because all maps were recompliled.
  5. Sounds great! I'll try to help you in case of any problems.
  6. JSH 1.0 new mirror http://rapidshare.com/files/68584600/JSH_1.0_eng.exe.html Note: hotfixes are included, you don't need to download them separately.
  7. All is correct. Probably it's a problem with the image itself, it should be 512x512 24bit .tga file.
  8. Ok, thanks! Proper hotfix: http://www.zshare.net/download/47352323eb1798/
  9. Txema Could you please send first hotfix to fw190a8@mail.ru ? Mod authors kinda lost english one...
  10. New hotfix for mod IS-2 now available in one more USSR mission M3 and Sdkfz 251 are available in "Steel torrent" USSR mission Incorrect date in single mission briefing fixed All fixes from first hotfix are included <see below> [ November 07, 2007, 06:37 AM: Message edited by: Sneaksie ]
  11. Aerial photos are best, just like for CC maps. Or even sattelite ones, if you find them with high enough resolution - 1 pixel = 1m:)
  12. Patch - yes, at least one. Addon - i don't think so, many new features added.
  13. Yes. Basically you can shape landscape as you want. Biggest challenge is not height map though, but 2048x2048 terrain texture itself. You still need graphic editing skills (i use GIMP) for editing it or creating new one.
  14. For now, map builder just edits what map you opened and saves it to the location which overrides original map. This means that if you wnat to make new mission with this map and don't alter original map, you must make a duplicate map first (copy entire folder of this map with different name, for example Sandomierz_my instead of Sandomierz), but you can do this only if you unpack maps.sfs with Dr. Jones tool which of course is not officially supported. Officially for now only altering existing maps is possible, but maps targau_u and Prokhorovka_m are not used in any stock missions and you can edit them as you want and then use them for your new mission. Release of new map builder should make this more simple, in addition to landscape editing ability.
  15. BAT502 If your image is 'Briefing.tga' then corresponding .mat file must have TextureName Briefing.tga string in it, among others. Then in briefing.xml you also must to name the layer for default mission task in 'layer' string - Briefing.mat in this case.
  16. Lots of Panthers, more than platoon in some missions. You'll be satisfied;)
  17. Authors of JSH mod want to play war songs of various countries in the main menu in the next mod version. Where records of English war songs of that time can be found and what song do you suggest to be used (probably most popular)? They have plenty of German and Russian songs, but only Churchill speech for allies:)
  18. Stoppelhopser I understood you have German version, right? Battle for Normandy campaign was designed with lower difficulty in mind, so it's interesting to hear your and other players opinion about how it compares to original campaigns.
  19. "Panzer Lehr" Tigers were destroyed on railway station and were not used in Normandy;)
  20. Even more screenshots, as you can see, mod authors are deadly serious. Panzerfaust-150 and giant HEAT shell for 37mm PAK http://forums.games.1c.ru/?mid=1950564
  21. Click it with right mouse button - is there "Open with..." command in the context menu?
  22. New screens showing air support impovements which will be in next version of the mod: http://forums.games.1c.ru/?type=flat&tid=328692&page=1#1950141 First bunch of screenshots - Hs-129 and Il-2 with 37mm guns strafing tanks. Second - Bf-110 and FW-190 with SC-250 bombs, third - FW-190 and Il-2 using fragmentation bombs SC-10 and AO-10. There is Il-2 bombing german tank unit with PTABs on last group of images. 23. There is no version of Theatre of War for Macintosh and it's not part of CM series, it's a real-time simulation, but you can pause to issue orders. CM2 called CM: Strike Force is out now, it's set in modern times though. There are plenty of screens for it.
  24. Yes, it's correct for now, but new version of the mod is in the works, featuring new uniforms, various air support with bombs (including PTABs), guns and rockets and more.
