  4. AFAIK the only difference between Firefly turret and Sherman turret was only radio equipment set in external armored box. But since modders can only combine existing meshes in different way, there is no way without 3dsmax to make a proper turret.

For example, try running the 'Steel Torrent' single mission, and if there are graphical artefacts, post screenshots from this mission too. Do you have any graphical artifacts in other games you play, or in 3D graphics benchmarks like 3d Mark?
  6. Thanks, we received your letter. Absence of log.lst file indicates that the game itself doesn't even start. In BFC version eLicense dialog window pops up during first run of the game. Since you don't see it, i can only guess there is some incompatibility between your configuration and eLicense system (probably because of Vista). Please ask someone from BFC about this, because we don't have any information about possible eLicense copy protection issues. Also you can try to download and install Moscow addon for the game if you haven't - probably it contains updated eLicense modules which may work ok.
  7. Of course you can. You should look in Guns directory. There are nationality directories in it, and ultimately you need files named like 12_7mm_DShK_HMG.ini. About Lines and LinesH - Lines is obsolete and not used (this is old values when weapon ranges were scaled to 500m maximim range). Dispersion is inherent characteristic of the weapon, you can change it or change another factor - aiming error. It's AimDistance and AimRadius strings. The numbers in AimRadius are for 100 skill shooter, for example, 100 skill shooter will have aiming error of 10cm at 100m while firing this HMG. Of course, aiming error is greater for lower skill shooters.

  9. Not exactly, it was scheduled for addon. BTW, it doesn't mean that TOW will change it's scale. No, we plan to increase number of units, but controlling even one slodier and managing his inventory will be kept as one of main features of the game.
  10. I like it, but adding another fire emitter requires invisible 'hook' on 3d model which means - yes, reworking all tank models;)
  11. Are you sure you have 169.28 drivers? There are only 169.25 latest drivers on Nvidia site and they are beta. Please send file with dxdiag information (Start > Run > type dxdiag and hit Enter > press button to save all info to file) to dina@1c.ru.
  12. Make sure you have minimum processess running at the background (web browsers, Outlook, ...), they sometimes can interfere. Try also to temporarily disable antivirus. Please make a screenshot of the error you mentioned. Vista doesn't have Dx9 by default, only Dx10, while Dx9 is sometimes needed for games released earlier. You can download latest version of Dx9 from Microsoft.com and install it (then your PC will have both versions of DirectX), it may help to slove the problem. Please send screenshot with the error, log.lst file from game directory and DxDiag file report (Start > Run > type dxdiag and hit Enter, then save information to file) to dina@1c.ru, we'll see what can be the problem.
  13. Well, SlapHappy, your determination is admirable, but let's be more careful with assumptions:) None of weapon types was intentionally nerfed. Accuracy.ini stores values for Accuracy SKILL. Each successful hit at infantry using pistol grants the shooter 15 experience points, and hit using MG only 5, because it's easier to score a hit with MG spray than using a pistol. Note that there are separate columns for each target type - hit at infantry will grant AT rifleman 30 points for increasing his Accuracy, while hit at heavy tank 16 (much bigger target). These exp points are used in Skills.ini. Accuracy skill can raise during battle, btw.
  14. Hm, the game should work on ypur laptop... i'll consult our programmers later about interesting error you've received. Did you installed Moscow addon? Game doesn't run in both cases, with addon and without it? By the way, i assume OS on your laptop is Windows Vista - you should run the game in it with administrative privileges (right-click the game executable and choose 'Run as Administrator' from context menu). See if this helps.
  15. What graphics card was on your old PC? What video system is in your new laptop?

Don't forget about hit angle:) In addition, if there are no visible holes on the target it does not mean it was not penetrated - there are 10 maximum drawn holes per unit, after that they will not be drawn. Also, holes appear during near penetrations too (80-90% of armor thickness). Small early war rounds cause little damage after penetration. If you shoot into one point of the tank and achieve penetration after penetration, you can't kill creman who is already dead or disable the engine already broken:)
  17. With the new patch vehicles burn longer (as was requested here), also destroyed or seriously damaged buildings may burn too. Blowing turrets off will require serious changes to all tank models, so this is unlikely for near future.

  19. You can trade off some Paks and Pz4 for Jagdpanzers or Panther (if possible)... Paks probably won't survive the possible barrage. You can also position one tank on the bridge, blocking it completely and forcing the assault forces to mome the long way. What is most important is that you'll get HUGE reinforcement after random time or when your force is down to a few men. You probably decided that all is lost too earlier)
  20. No, map designers painted heightmap like terrain texture. You can imagine that lining up landscape with some bridge was a pain Maps of terrain types and such were also drawn by hand. I've replied about new triggers in beta forum.
  21. You didn't see window when it asks you to license/unlicense? It should appear before the game itself. Unfortunately, i don't know about possible elicense issues on Vista. Hopefully someone from BFC will be able to help you.
  22. Webwing Concerning trees - rofl added 8000 detailed trees and his FPS were at playable level. You can also try adding more than ~2000. It's cumulative effect of trees, landscape, statics and such that will slow down the game and potentially may cause loading problems when their count is very high. And there are maps with high poly count made by us too - Dunkirque for example, canals (sharp elevation changes) have many polys. I think, trees far away from camera were not displayed because of corresponding parameter in game graphics options. What is interesting is that most maps in original campaigns (not Moscow and Normandy) were made without this builder by hand (heightmap, grassmap and such editing in graphics editor).
