  1. Very good effects. You did good work. PS. Also like your blue icon mod. Never understood the logic for the green icons. Perhaps a second mod could be done with politically correct german flags as here the historical signs are not allowed ( I changed them for myself in a graphics program). PPS: All my mates also long since stopped playing TOW. It did not catch on well and the Kalypso patch tragedy hurt the german customers.
  2. Danke Uwe. But I never had JSH installed. Maybe will do so now. Got the LOS tool to work by another way. Downloaded the blue icons mod by forumite rofl because I like that more than the awful green. I denazified the mod in my graphics program and saw the new arrows. Dropped it into my TOW folder and since then LOS works for me Ortnit: Der mod heißt "blue_icons_uberpatch.rar" und wenn Du das in google eingibst findest Du den download link bei filefront. Ins TOW Hauptverzeichnis entpacken und gut ist. Enthält jedoch in der B-Rep unerlaubte Zeichen.
  3. Ortnit: I have the same patch number which should be correct. But I also can't make the LOS tool work yet. And by the way, after this long wait the map editor and the Battle generator manuals have not been translated or in IT language "localised"! I don't need these translations, me reade engleesh vell, but some other customers might have waited for that ... My neck hurts from shaking my head about this remarkable example of professionalism.
  4. Graphical nitpicking: The german tank man wears a fantasy jacket. Nothing like that was ever made or worn in WW2 by german forces. Officer and man should have a vertical cut in the jackets back (butt area). Otherwise they look nice to me.
  5. Danke Chris69 As this has taken more than 4 months there better should not be a single spelling error
  6. I believe it when I see it on my HD and it works without breaking TOW. Not a minute earlier. I read they only started uploading at 15:30 local and estimate at least 6 hours for that...
  7. So whatever happened to the Panther, Stuart, Marder and BA10 models and those interior house shots for the eastern front shown at least half a year ago ? How do they fit the scheme ? Soundly confused.
  8. Dr Jones, just to understand you the right way. In the future it might be possible to convert 3ds to TOWs msh ? That would mean one could make models with free 3D modelers like Blender, Wings3D and Anim8or and add them into TOW? Now that would be ultra cool.
  9. Thanks for your words of support SG1. This situation is ridiculous and I'm not sure all parties involved write the truth. So where is the german patch now if it was compiled and sent to Kalypso a few days before the sixteenth ??? February, March, April, May, ...? Thats not the way to treat customers.
  10. Impressive result Tartari! Hope this can be integrated. Works wonders for immersion.
  11. I'm one of the last mohicans which at least wants to have a go with the map editor and see the improvements of the patch for the product I paid for. The german forum at theatreofwar.de is as dead as a door nail of course.
  12. Thanks Sneaksie. First good news in a looong time. Sadly that company hasn't a person such as you for customer relations. Looking forward to see how long it takes them this time ...
  13. *up-gebumpen* Anything new on the teutonic Kalypso überpatch? Take your time, just 14 weeks so far ...
  14. Guess that happens to godless people Try to email BF with your payment data/ adress. Tip: Next time print it licenses and stick it to a cd case where you keep a copy of the download. I had to remember that too and now it sticks well with me.
  15. I still come to this forum, in the vain hope to find the überpatch german localisation finished after more than three months waiting ... Actually a few days ago an official from Kalypso stated in a german forum that TOW has not performed as expected. Make from that what you want. Back to CMAK for me, leading my brave italian tanks to glorious victory !
  16. Sorry to bring this up again, but some second class customers are STILL waiting, more than three months later. On a inofficial german forum this was written on April, the 28th: "Die deutsche Übersetzung wurde vor ein paar Tagen an Battlefront geschickt, die jetzt den Patch zusammenbauen. Der muss dann noch getestet werden und wird dann veröffentlicht." Any truth in this, any news BF?
  17. Go back to page 42 and check out how many of those names writing back then wrote in the last eight weeks. Then check out the natrue of the topics. I agree with Petrus58. Überpatch came too late IMHO, some lowly Kalypso customers don't have it even now, one year later. Should have come last August or September to make an impact when the game was still fresh enough. Most people since have moved on or are back to classics, even if they are "inferior" at first sight. Superficially TOW did everything right, WW2 real time, lots of action, nice graphics, even Tiger tanks. That should bring heaps of money to any game developer. But some design decisions did not translate well, especially with this Battlefront audience. It's not what I thought it would be and so I won't invest into it any further. Even if the next add on will permit the player to select the right cigarettes for his pixel men. I awaited a tactical sand box for ww2 which would fascinate me for maybe years and got a action oriented ww2 riddle game which lasted less than three months. And I learnt the meaning of waiting.
  18. Congratulations, that was fast Only a few more months to see the german release then ...
  19. Martin, no one in their right mind holds a grudge against Battlefront. The local publisher is the bizzare problem. Last time I was in Worms, there were plenty of german speaking people around . I cannot understand 12 weeks of technical problems. And by the way, the german briefings in the default version are not exactly good deutsch. Mission 10 briefing in the russian campaign also has been forgotten. Next time, send 100 Euros by Paypal to some guy from the community who knows military nomenclature and german and you're set. It would have taken me less than 12 weeks for sure...
  20. Thanks Gnasher, I will try them ! I admire your drive and dedication to a historical campaign. If it was not for you and a few dedicated souls one would think TOW is dead in the water after just one year. Don't be offended by my opinion. But this whole mess is taxing to the extreme and the game did not quite meet my tactical expectations which does not mean its bad, just not 100% my cup of Earl Grey. That's why I was so hot for the uberpatch with its expanded possibilities. Which my pathetic publisher somehow can't manage to release although the content is already done since end of January!
  21. "We had some technical problems" Imagine my technical problems when the button of my wallet gets stuck next time they want me to pay some of their games. Well, I got comfortably numb by this waiting. Took ages to develop TOW, took a while longer to get it up to Battlefronts standard, took longer to uberpatch, takes even longer to get a patch for the rotten Kalypso version. And even then I doubt TOW will give me what I want from it as I don't exactly see a flood of new maps ... Frankly this situation bores me sh!tless. So I will do what I was trained best in this whole affair - and just wait some more - but for the CM:Normandy game. This will be excellent and well supported as I see with Strike Force. Don't care about publishers, patches, Add Ons or TOW 2-17 anymore. Don't expect me to sink even one more Eurocent into this game. Stoppelhopser
  22. Have you played the latest demo? Then read some old posts from last April, when the game came out. Then play a second time. Best way to form an opinion. I found it does not captivate me and mostly stopped playing after just about two months but this is subjective. As I am also one of the poor beings waiting til eternity for the Kalypso (publisher in europe) patch I would say, if you buy - buy direct from BFC.
  23. *walks in on his weekly visit, looks around* After now nine weeks I see that exactly nothing has happened. And that will be precisely the amount of money Kalypso will ever see from me in their glorious future. See you next week in this surreal thread if I still can bring up the energy to bother about TOW.
  24. Well, its safe to say now that "Due march" was not exactly met However they can hardly be blamed by their customers, because they never stated which march, sly old devils that they are ... @all: Imagine now if Kalypso localise the add-on. If the add-on comes before 2010 I predict due 2012 "+ two weeks" for the Euro versions  See you next week to check if anyone at Kalypso Media GmbH has since moved a finger.
  25. Thork: You can't expect wonders. Everyone in the industry knows that a game patch localisation can't be done in under 8 weeks or whatever long it takes Kalypso to wake up . The patch content is now out close to two months (Jan, 28th). I and lots of other europeans are still waiting. Being a scale modeler (gluing and painting fiddly things),over 40 years old and a flight sim enthusiast you can describe me as quite a patient dude. But mark my words for the future: If I ever buy anything from Kalpso I bite my hands off in front of you all. They lost me as a future customer. Still, Frohe Ostern to each and everyone!
