Monitors and video card troubles...
Tim The Enchanter replied to The Hooded One's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
When swapping video cards from Nvidia to ATI or vice versa it is important to use a driver cleaning utitility to get rid of all residue of the old drivers that are left behind after you uninstall them. -
CMBO freezing during TCP/IP
Tim The Enchanter replied to Bogdan's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
Do you have your anti-virus schedualed for tasks at any particular times? Perhaps that program or another, perhaps even on his end disrupted the flow of traffic? How many times has this occured with CMBO? Maybe your ISP of his was having a problem? -
I don't know. What are your system specs? Maybe I can help friend!

Delicious! I do not view BFC as "Occupying Troops" and I do believe that they indeed have our best interests at heart. Mr.Smith are we playing the same great titles that BFC offers? I dare say that it all shows in the quality and care they put into these video games. In fact they don't even leave anyone out; including Mac users which I aplaud!

The Official Get off BFC's back Thread
Tim The Enchanter replied to Tim The Enchanter's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
Mr.Dorosh is it possible for you to just disagree with someone whilst stating as to why like the classy Redwolf has done? Redwolf disagrees but he clearly is not a troll, perhaps it would be to your benefit to take a page out of his book friend! Redwolf; I respect your opinion but was the 1.01 version of CMAK so bad? What I am getting at here is that the 1.01 version of CMAK was and is fun as heck! It's not like BFC is going to say the heck with it and not make improvements to their already five star game, but why not enjoy what we have rather than grumble about things that we don't? No offense to anyone but a few members here seem to come off as children whining that they can't open their Christmas presents in November. -
Greetings friends and sticklers! Let me remind us all that CMAK was perfectly playable and fun right out of the envelope. Sure we all like patches but have some of us forgot that BFC will be working diligently on perfecting CMAK whether people hop aboard the complain train or not? Patience friends! All will be well. In closing I would like to thank the good folks at BFC who created the games we all enjoy so much to play.

Playing without a CD
Tim The Enchanter replied to Ralph Beaman's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
Use the CD that you bought and payed for to play the game friend! If by chance you thought you would be cheap and pull a fast one; stop stealing and buy the game friend! Not only is it the right thing to do; it's worth every penny! -
Radeon 9800 Owners Please
Tim The Enchanter replied to Canuckgd's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
The 5900XT has superior image quality to ATI cards as well. In fact, IIRC; the 5900XT was the test bed in which they measured the compteting ATI card up against in the review that I read which contained screen shots of KOTR. You're learning the same lesson I did with Maxtor. I've had ill fortune with those HDD's in the past. I now use a Western Digital 80gig with 8mb cache. Simply put it is the best HDD I have ever purchased; so far so good anyway! -

Redwolf; the comparrison you are searching for is that of the ATI 9700 pro compared to that of a Geforce 4 generation card where yes; the ATI 9700 pro did in fact have a better image quality. Tests now show that in certain games it is the newer Nvidia cards that display the better image in Knights of the Old Republic for example. You can see that the light sabers are clearly more defined and symetrical than when displayed by compteting ATI cards. Hope that sheds some light on things. Redwolf; I recently bought an NV SIlencer heatsink/fan for my Geforce 6800 GT. It is a far more effective cooler than the stock one and is about three times as quiet. I beleive they make them for Geforce 5900's as well if you are interested. -

What Madmatt said! This really can't be stressed enough and is often overlooked, even by yours truly in this very thread! This really is a great forum, the Moderators are bright and of great assistance!
