Okay, addressing me as 'Mr. Achai', given that 'Seanachai' is as much a title as a name, was dim, but within the realm of 'well intentioned stupidity', but 'Mr. Rad', where a clear 'first name' and 'last name' are present is simply a rather poor attempt at smirking arseholery. I see that the 'Gaylord Wannabe' (man, talk about a lack of ambition!) has made his way here. Kwazy assures us that 'Tim' doesn't share the same IP as 'Gaylord'. At this point, my assumption is that Gaylord's family moved to another State. Possibly because even moving him to another school district didn't stop the name calling and abuse. Whether he is, or he isn't, I see no reason to repeat past mistakes, and without demur I say 'Coventry'. I anticipate no cry of outrage. See, Joe? Even my anti-Elitist, egalitarian, near anarchistic tendencies have a limit. </font>

Greetings friends! What is the Peng Challenge Thread? It's obviously not used as a tool for garnering the attention of others, but it's not your GrandDragon's oldsmobile either. Is it like one of those make beleive inside profound artistic displays like when that silly ole chap Mick Jagger was straddling the inflatable penis on stage? I am merely asking mind you, having read others explanations, but none of them seem to really agree on much. In this thread I sense that you all agree on much, so what better place to ask is there friends?

Notebooks that “really” can run games?
Tim The Enchanter replied to kipanderson's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
Check out some offerings from Alienware or Voodoo , they make laptops specialized in gamming - they won't crash. If I could personaly find a use for a laptop I would buy one, but I really have no need to buy one at this time, they are cool though! -
Kuni, Rambo, Why do we post at the GF?

At the same time I must say that Combat Mission is a fun series of games as well, the best in fact for a PC in my opinion if you lean more towards the tactical realm of things. I enjoy both SC and Combat Mission. I also look forward with much anticipation to SC2, and the next Combat Mission game. To each there own I say. -

I agree Rambo! Everyone is there own person, tis a shame most of them are too afraid to be themselves, and then perhaps even improve upon themselves. -
Recommendation for new graphics card

I made a mistake in saying the 6800GT requires a 380w power supply, it requires a 350 watt minimum. I think the card is fantastic, I even get fog back for CM. Remember, don't skimp on the power supply to save a few bucks, not all are equal. I would take a quality 350 watt over a crappy 400 something watt power supply any day. Antec for instance makes good power supplies, I have a silent 380 watt Antec that runs great. -
What do we want in the new CM game, Part Deux!

Destructable infrastructure, telephone poles, street cars, wagons, fruit stands, you name it. I think it would really add to the immersion factor and it would make misses alot more entertaining. It was something that worked great in X-Com APOC. -

RedWolf, the Geforce 6800 gt would fit in the mobo, the problem would be that the 6800gt requires a 380 watt power supply. It would not be overkill either, it would be over spending as a 1 gig cpu with I assume his PC is equiped with limited sdram combined with a lower rated front side bus/ dated chipset means that the CPU would not have the computing power to feed the card all the instructions it is demanding, so in essence his whole PC would be a bottleneck for that particular videocard. Graphics card without fan?

I have but one thing to add here, you have options. Very Cool Web Site -
I understand the "when it's completed" mantra and agree whole heartedly with it, but roughly when is this title due out, 2004, 2005? I ask because SC2 looks to be a fun game, and it apears SC already has a good group of gamers built around it. Want to see something funny? Cheers! ( I'm a 'Merican, does'nt it look extra silly acting all unrefined European like?)

If you are going for an Nvidia Geforce 4 series of cards, the Ti4200 is far cheaper and benchmarks pretty close to the others and is over clocking friendly though do so at your own risk if at all as it voids warranty. I'm running an ATI 9700 pro and it's fantastic though dated at this point. ATI will not disply fog in Combat Mission, but but 9700pro has better over all image quality than the last gen Nvidia cards. The new cards are pretty close but the edge goes to Nvidia, though the 6800 ultra takes up two slots. If all you play is Combat Mission, the Geforce 4 ti series will be fine.
