  1. Prinz Eugen, absolutely, Set up a thread in the BB forum,
  2. The loss of a tank will make people nervous. And I did hit you as you were moving, IE;exposed. Of course my troops are a tad edgy from being under heavy fire as well. Your troops reacted normaly,
  3. CMBB is 4 regions, Finland North Center South, Finland is mostly forest and swamps, North is lenningrad and the baltic forests Center is steepes, moscow, and kursk South is more steepes, Crimea, the Caucasus, and Stalingrad. The Italian alpini earned the respect of the soviets in the bloody retreat from the caucasus in late 42 to early 43, Try playing the 'Alpine Breakout' Scenario At no point did the war enter the lands known as Iran.(although the soviets did occupy the region) The more geographicly inclined grogs will correct me at great length I'm sure,
  4. Goodale; You sorry excuse for an ameoba, You issued the challenge, and I accept, A map by a 3rd party it shall be. So someone create a map for this Please, WITHOUT DENSE FOREST! I line my cats litterbox with your degree, I chuck HE and AP in ammounts that are effective,
  5. Prinz Eugen; Aww damm,. Ok, How does 1000 points, Allied attack, Center, February 42 Extreeme cold. Sound?
  6. LOL,, Cuirassier; that was a good one, Evzone; I'm not backing off just yet, Prinz Eugen; you want axis or allies?
  7. Prinz Eugen; watching your breech block shatter from cold is not fun, but most of my CM experience is in BB, and a lot in brutaly cold conditions,, your offer is accepted
  8. The only way the germans could have averted the disaster knowen as Stalingrad, Is to have never entered the city in the first place,.. The rest is idle speculation, and hypothetical "whatif" material, The germans were beat the moment they invaded poland in 39, it was just a matter of time., The only hope the germans had was in july of 44, When an attempt was made to kill the chancelor, Had Staufenberg gone back in and checked and finished off Hitler, But he didnt, Of course we can play "whatif" with this as well, (actualy I kinda feel like playing )
  9. Prinz Eugen, Absolut ly, But let me finish being slaughtered here first. I have 2 PBEM games on the go already, Not sure I could balance a third, But yes I think some steepelands terror would be fun,
  10. Ah humility, A noble vitue that a few on these boards could learn,
  11. I found the whole peng challenge rather ammusing, Like a mentaly and physicly handicapped neigbour in the comunity, Not very effective or inteligent, But funny to watch.
  12. teeps, not all crews are vehicle crews, a light MG crew was lost on my far right flank, Yes they were a recon screen, and no i didnt want to lose them, oh well Thats my mistake, You seem to know what you are doing,
  13. Pretty much, A Half squad is less valuable than a tank 2 men of a 3 man team is less than a tank. The tank wins, But you do hold all the other flags, so why worry,,,,,
  14. Dave H, I'll take your word,,,, What about Tony Stark? or is he already raving mad ?
  15. Prinz Eugen, bad jokes are the point and purpose of life, Let us celebrate the idiocy and depravity of state and empire, by making bad jokes, Let us look upon catastrophy and tragedy, and make bad jokes, For if we do not laugh, The sheer horror will make us all insane,
  16. steel, because you are infected, the sickness is already consuming you, its irresistable, dont fight it,,, let the maddness flow, Goodale, you wanna PBEM? [ August 28, 2006, 10:44 PM: Message edited by: Corvidae ]
  17. A silent force can usualy hear a noisy force from a fair distance, try it some time,, find a construction site,, with lots of heavy vehicles,, walk about 500 meters from it,, and listen, you should still be able to distinguish buldozers from dumptrucks by sound alone, Forest does baffle the sound a bit, and bounces it around to make it harder to pinpoint the source, but you should still be able to identify engine noises,
  18. Tanks dont do well in trees, In tall pines and in woods(forest) they are imobile, and in scatered trees, they are slow and easly bogged, But there are a few safe passages through that i saw, try using the SHIFT key, and the T, to hide the trees so you can see the ground, and use the LOS tool to plot a course in advance, Also zoom in close to the ground for a better idea of exactly what you are facing. Out of curiosity,,,, did you study the manual? If not you probably should, it says a lot about tanks and where they should and should NOT be opperated.
  19. I hear Engines, Possibly tanks, coming through the trees. but no contact yet.
  20. And unfortunately my men are french, and too stupid to recognize a disaster when they waltz into it, In all reality, I screwed up this battle, I moved too fast with a force best used at closer ranges, I'm now attempting to recover my balance as it were, Trying to consolidate a line with spent troops, Its going to get messy, Eventualy he has to close to bayonette range,
  21. My AT rifles plink uselessly at his tanks, The heat and dust are almost worse than the shrapnel from his bombardment of my troops, There are maggots in the escargots and the coffee is teppid, WAR IS HELL
  22. You did it right, and I expect you will do just fine, I sent you the next turn, ,,, Theres a lot of trees on that map, I hate fighting in dense forest, oh well, You may notice that I like to engage the enemy as far away as possible, I cant do that on this map, so I am going to improvize, This should be fun..............
  23. teeps, random maps, with random units selected by the AI, set quality to medium, set rarity to variable, and see what the computer generates for you, Accept what circumstance throws at you, and make it work, 600 to 800 points is big enough to be good, but small enough to be managable
