I heard Charles went to the Woodstock 40th anniversary Reunion and no one has seen him since.

It's the USS Midway and one could argue it's a tourist trap too. My definition of a tourist trap though, is something really not worth seeing. I think the major draws in San Diego really are worth seeing. Take the Zoo and Sea World for instance. It really is a world class zoo, and Sea World is a great Marine Park so if your into those things they really are a great day. If you like animals the Wild Animal Park in Escondido (run by the Zoo), is also excellent and allows you to see animals in a more natural setting. Old Town San Diego is very nice. There's also lots of things to do in Balboa park near the zoo. http://www.balboapark.org/ You can take a bus tour to Encinada in Baja for a day if you have your passport and there's lots of nice beaches in the San Diego area of course. Legoland is good only if you have children 10 and under.

Anyone know where to find the GMG Jackal?
Sequoia replied to birdstrike's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Excellent news. Now if we all put our heads together and find out how Snatch Land Rovers are organised in the British Army TO&E there's a good chance they'll add them too. Cassio you know you want to! -
M1 TankCommander, have you ever met any guys like that?

Must be some Beta Tester Mojo Mike is using. There were three types in the video released July 9th. Maybe it went the way of the Snatch patrol vehicle. -

A bump for this in case any one found the Jackal birdstrike is looking for. I'd like to know myself. -
Wire and mine obstacles and other assorted fun

If I understand things correctly, once they have the animations done for CMx2 Normandy, they can easily bring them into CMSF and slap modern skins on them. Maybe they have so much going on for the Normandy game trying to make it to a 2009 release they don't want to take the time to add a whole major feature in CMSF. Hopefully strong sales for the British module will encourage BFC to add new stuff to the next module and maybe even do another module after that. Have I become a sucker for this new module approach? -

Sequoia replied to zmoney's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
BFC has not made any new terrain types or flavor objects that might affect the map to this point, possibly because it would effect so many other things. I suppose there's hope as they get things done for WWII we might see wire making it into the game, if not for everyone, at least for those buying the NATO module, but I don't recall any hints about it so far. -
Lomir, I think Steve will agree with you if he thought about it some more. Otherwise how would one explain the Spanish Unit on the map?

Hardly anyone has asked they include Russia as a Red force, but a few of us have asked for additional Russian equipment the Syrians never ha,d such as the T-80. Even Battlefront once said they were going to have a "Non-historical" branch of Red forces, though apparently that's been put on ice. Some have argued that the T-80 would add nothing really to the game that's not already there. For me, at least, its sort of like being a Mod Slut. Does using Andrew's uniforms or Mikey's or Gordon's vehicles mods add anything to the game? Gameplay no, but I can't resist downloading another good Tiger Mod though I already have several. I love the British module because the British bring a Wacky Races collection of vehicles to the game most of which I was not familiar with before. I'm glad we'll get the Germans and am hoping we'll get the same with them AND something new Red even if it's the truck. Sure I can give the Syrians a USMC truck but it's just not the same,

Has any one had a chance to read the new "Essential Vehicle Guides" to WWII vehicles by David Porter or Chris Bishop? If so could you give a quick review?

Other Means, what I mean is players will use CMSF to recreate the WWII North African battles with modern equipment. Sort of a time warp fantasy sort of thing. EDIT: looks like AKD beat me to it.

Looking for legend of printed map that came with game

Once the Germans are done, you have all the equipment the Netherlands uses already done as well. Same with the Canadians. The French would take a whole new set of equipment. -
List of Tanks the US faced in Normandy

Good find. I was thinking of this Tank by Mad Matt himself: http://www.combatmission.com/MDMP/mdmp2.asp -

There was also the famous tank A. -
Yes, any Blue force can fight any Blue force. You can even have the Germans fight themselves. Same for Red. I think we're bound to see North Africa '43 with Abrams and Challengers and Leos.

I think a dirty bomb going off in Frankfurt, which is part of the premise of the whole war, would make any German goverment interventionist except possibly if the Greens were in power. I don't recall him ever saying definitely. I wouldn't hold my breath for Normandy this year, though as I read the tea leaves the NATO module has a good shot.

I need help with a new campaign
Sequoia replied to lomir's topic in CMSF Scenario and Mod Design Forum
Yes think of the map as an early Time Magazine version of what the media thought was going on. It's up to historians like yourself to come up with the actual events. -

Nope, that's a PZ IV. Wittman was in a Tiger I at Normandy. Surely you must have seen tank 808 before. -

Here is a thread where we were trying to decipher the unit designations on the map. I don't think the map needs to be considered Canon by any scenario developers. It's really just for flavor. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=87901 -

I don't know why, but I just like the look of this vehicle even though it was a marginal AFV. I really hope it is included. It wasn't in any CMX 1 games. The Germans will need something to shoot at all those Thunderbolts with that's mobile. -
Any of the new scenarios have t-90 or bmp-3s
Sequoia replied to Hannibal's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
There is one battle in the Repository by MikeyD that has T-90s vs. Challenger IIs: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=420 -
Cybertrand. People have been wondering about this before as seen in the thread link below but we've never gotten an official answer. My guess is the developers have given it a low priority and have been too busy to work on it if they are willing to do any work at all on it. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=82855&highlight=flavor+objects

Elmar, true but why leave out your own country? Cassio said they needed Dutch voice actors yesterday, so that confirms it. Hadn't they recruited you yet?

IIRC not only were they thinking of including the King Tigers with the Normandy Commonwealth module, but they were going to be Porsche turrent King Tigers. I doubt well see all those captured French tanks in the initial release myself. Maybe one. That's all CMBO had after all.
