Is a unit (tank) less likely to bog in wet ground if it is executing a "move" vs. "fast move" order? :confused: I have had several bog down in one scenario , one of which freed itself, but I'm curious to know if there is a way to reduce the likelihood of bogging by moving slower (or faster).

Sorry to bring this up again. I read all the threads (about 8) on this web site and they only answer one of my questions satisfactorily. The others are as follows: 1) do ambush markers need to be targeted by the units using them? 2) will moving or firing the unit that has assigned or that has targeted an ambush marker cancel the ambush marker? (in other words, is there anyway to cancel an ambush marker). THanks, guys.

Dschugaschwili: how can you tell what HQ is in command of particular weapons teams? If you double click on a HQ, will it include weapons teams under its command (MG, Mortar, Bazooka, etc. etc.)? I'm curious, because, apart from the HQ specifically assigned to a weapons team/specialist, I was wondering if ANY nearby Platoon or Company HQ could exert command over them. Please clarify. THANKS.

Actually, guys...I didn't know about EITHER of these logistical/command phenomenon! Well...would it then be wise to order your platoon squads one unit at a time instead of doing a "combined all-in-one platoon order" to the Platoon HQ? Wouldn't that prevent the "stray" squad (with the ad-hoc Cpy HQ platoon) from going off to his original commander (that is, following his original commanders orders contrary to your wishes)?

Good responses, guys. KC: what do you mean by the "rifle/pioneer squad" jumping up and marching off? Little unclear on that though I follow the rest of the post re: the tactical use of 4 vs. 3 squads.

The manual for CMBB (and CMBO) says that if a Platoon HQ is eliminated, a subordinate squad will receive the leadership bonuses of a Company HQ whose command the Platoon HQ was under. Will the squad receive the bonus from the Company HQ IF THE PLATOON HQ IS STILL ALIVE, but "OUT OF RANGE" of the squad???

All of you MUST pick up "Panzertactik" by these guys (JJ Fedorowicz). It is simply fantastic. Best war book I've EVER bought (and I have a lot). The photographs are phenomenal. Nothing I had seen before in other books. Also, the book is a German small unit armor tactics books extraordinaire. Covers all major aspects of small unit tactics. It's expensive though, but for you guys who love German armor and German tactics, it's a must.

Lisse and purchased a eVGA Ge Force FX5900 XT from Newegg for $185. I figured, "this is it for awhile...may as well do it; CM is just too fun, gotta do it right". I'm pumped up. Can't wait to see the improvements. Hptmn. Lisse reviewed my motherboard specs and model # and guided me right through. Only installation is left and he said he'd be there to help. Thanks for everything guys: you are keeping the CM fans in the loop and increasing their enjoyment through your generous assistance efforts. Kudos to you all.

Gentlemen: After networking successfully this past weekend (with the help of a good friend), I've decided to upgrade the video card in my Micron PC and let the wife and kids use the newer Dell Computer. Okay....I need Herr Schrullenhaft and Hptmn. Lisse's invaluable input. Here are the specs: Micron PC - 1 ghz Athlon processor 384 mgs DDR RAM (upgrade - was originally 128) 40 Gb Hard Drive NVidia Vanta LT card, 16 mg RAM (whew!!!! Scary, huh? !) The computer tech manual says there are 4 PCI expansion slots and 1 AGP expansion slot. I've had this computer for 3 years and it's been great. What do you recommend in the way of a video card that is reliable and likely a problem free performer (at least initially)? Do you recommend going with a PCI card, AGP? etc. I am willing to spend $150 or less. THANKS GUYS!

Actually, Hptm., I'm going to print this thread and get back to you guys when I have the cash to buy the video card.

You're right Herr Schrullenhaft, I purposely picked out the 256 meg card. If the one your citing is BETTER, than I have no problem with the marginally more money. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU THINK IT IS. By the way, is this an easy install? THanks again, Herr! :cool:

So, Herr Schrullenhaft....this new computer of mine is a Dell Dimension 2400 (I gave you the specs above). Do I have to worry about having the proper port to install the GeForce FX 5700 card, for example? Do I take the integrated extreme graphics card out? I'm really not very tech as far as computers go, but would like to do it if it's not too difficult. I appreciate your input greatly....

I have an "Integrated Intel 3D AGP Graphics Card" and a Windows XP Home OS. I am not very computer savvy and need help. I have tried hitting SHIFT/W several times to get the Fog graphics for "Fear in the Fog" (CMBO), but am having no success. The manual says I "may need to enable 'fog table emulation' in the control panel for Direct X and/or your video driver." It would be nice if the manual gave the steps to this resolution since most people are not technically as skilled as the designers of the game :mad: (and in some cases, like my own, are not skilled or educated in computers AT ALL)....PLEASE HELP. I want the full effects of the scenario visible. Give me the steps simply, PLEASE! THank you.

I tried playing "Fear in the Fog" and the Fog is NOT visible. I have an XP Operating System (home) and have toggled "Weather/Fog" effects to both "partial" and "high". Neither works. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I'd like to see the fog..THANKS.

Sorry Guys. I searched the web site for the previous post about this. Please indulge me. I am having difficulty limbering up a 57mm ATG to a nearby truck. What's the procedure? I issued a move order toward the truck which is a few meters away.....nothing is happening.
