  1. Most definitely, Ron. I'll let you know. I did a little experimenting last night since I can't wait for my friend to get the file back to me. I took 20 minutes last night to set the battle up as a hotseat game and positioned both sides per the current position of the units in the PBEM game with my friend. The AC took out the FT team quickly - never got off a shot, but the nearby "lead" pioneer platoon "panzerfausted" the AC - toast. Hopefully, I will get similar results tonight or tomorrow. I'll let you know.
  2. Thanks guys, GREAT answers! Will report back on the results.
  3. Thanks for the very simple but equally helpful response, Tom. Two things: my opponent DOES read this forum, but there is a LOT here and chances are he won't see this post as he has only tonight to see it ( he will be sending the turn back tonight and already has that armored unit about 40 meters from the hill plateau). I think he's toast as the unit is alone and my guy is going to be rotating toward the contact point while in a hiding position. I kept the FT team in the rear, trailing along. He just decided to send one harassing armored car into my rear and doesn't realize my other boys see the car and have alerted the FT team. Will be fun to see what happens. thanks again, jim lee
  4. I wondering if any of you have used flamethrower teams against tanks or armored cars and what results have you seen. I'm about to spring a concealed team on a friend of mine (our first PBEM of CMBO) and don't want to waste these precious German lives if unnecessary. Thanks.
  5. I'm brand new to CMBO and CMBB and love these games. I am playing my first PBEM game (CMBO)and have come across an interesting situation: I have a German flamethrower team on a flat area on top of a very small hill next to a road. The hill overlooks a town and I have a pioneer infantry sqaud out in front of my flamethrower team and in the LOS of the enemy village. My opponent just rolled out an armored car from the village and turned off the road and up the hill. I know he cannot see my flamethrower team which is lying down and away from the hilltop. He thinks he is swinging around behind the rest of the Pioneer Infantry platoon which is in plain view. Here is my question: The flamethrower team is HIDING and is facing 90 degrees away from the front of the approaching armored unit. Time is of essence as he is about 40 meters away. Is it necessary to "rotate" the flamethrower team to face him and fire upon him? Or can I just do nothing and let the unit fire from a hidden position like an ambush when the Armored unit crests the hill top? Would "rotating" the team take them out of "hide" status? PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU VETERANS WOULD DO to best deal with the armored unit in this situation (in terms of issuing or not issuing orders to the flamethrower team). I really would love to see them get off the first shot of liquid flame! THANKS.
  6. Thanks for the reply Slappy! Would just targeting "area fire" on the spot I think the unit will appear at work as well? Wouldn't that result in my unit immediately rotating to position itself for firing at that location? Or is rotating first and letting the unit fire on it's own the better way to go? Thanks for your patience.
