  1. Spolier warning! I just finished this operation last night and have a greater appreciation for the power of massed infantry and motars. I won this operation by taking each trench one by one and attacking the trenches from multiple sides. The 25 pounders and other spotters were helpful. Once I had captured one trench placing these guys in there not only protected them but also gave them a good field of view. Try advancing with infantry along the sides of the map to avoid the trenches frontally. Then sneak your troops to the sand dunes near the trenches and then advance your troops. There is some cover on the battle field but you have to look carefully. I also lost loads of Matildas from the 88's but I pulled them back and let my infantry supress them and then take them out. Those small 50mm motars are really good for this. But I have to admit I was really frustrated once all my spotters and motars ran out of ammo, it was tought but I stuck to it and finnally one. Also Italian troops make up a lot of the defending troops in the battle and so it gets a little easier near the end. But honestly I found the Matildas almost useless, my infantry and spotters did 90% of the damage to the infantry.
  2. I would love to play an operation based on the Isthmus battles. Anyone know where I could get one?
  3. I really enjoy using the minor powers in the game and playing against them. But one question I have about the Finns is this. What were the tank battles in Finland like? I understand that most of it was infantry but the Germans shipped an armoured force there and the Finns have tanks in the game. However it seems the Russian would have been able to run through Finland in a week with the kind of armour they possess. Balance of forces seem really off whenever the Russians have tanks. I would love to know what the armoured fighting there was really like in order to recreate it in CMBB.
  4. Is their a listing of the new battles/operations that are included in the expanded European version? I am specifically trying to find a battle that took place in the early years and had the the Russians attacking across a road using a bunch of t-26's and armorued cars. I also remember a battle where a bunch of ISU-152's were attacking a town with tank destroyers/tigers on a hill on the other side of the town. If anyone knows the name of the extra battles and where I could download them I would greatly appreciate it. These were the first battles I ever played CMBB and lost horribly I want to see how much better I have become. I gave this disk away when I moved thinking I could get the same disk in the U.S.
  5. Is air support guaranteed to show up in CMAK? I noticed sometimes that it never did in CMBB. Also, if both forces use air power and one of the aircraft is a fighter on a strafing mission does it scare away the other bomber?
  6. Help! I spent many hours last night making a nice operation. However I did not notice until I saved it that it was in fact a battle. I changed the file ending to make it an operation but I still can't change the paramaters to make it into a three battle operation. Any ideas?
  7. Thanks to Hpt Lisse, I tried your suggestion and after a couple of retrys the map was nice and the combat was fun. However, the AI still gave me a bunch of semi-useless support teams.
  8. I have noticed that too, I can't remember the last time a tungsten round was fire in CMAK. I really loved it when my Russian tankers would fire those off with no hesitation to the disapointment of the Germans. But in a related note, I have notcied that the StugIII has some crazy tough armour as compared to it in CMBB. In both games a Sherman in less then 500 meters was firing a total of 5 to 6 rounds at the flank of the thing and it kept going.
  9. I noticed last night when making a scenario that the drop down menu for anti-tank weapons was displayed on the Italian Paratrooper HQ unit. However, once I clicked it all the numbers were grey and could not be clicked. A bug perhaps? I would think the Italins Paratroopers would definetly have something to throw at tanks.
  10. Having enjoyed CMBB's QB's against the AI, I am wondering why I don't enjoy the QB's in CMAK. I realy like the pre-made battles but everytime I play a QB it just 'feels' artificial. Due to the amount of points I have the forces that I buy feel artficially contrived. Also, I think this has to do with the random maps the AI makes. The maps never end up looking like Italy-Sicily or any town I have seen. CMBB Qb's really made you feel like you were fighting in the Eastern Front, good randomn forces and maps. But I don't know what exactly it is, but QB's in CMAK lack a certain something. Let me know what you guys think.
  11. I witnessed something unbelievable like that yesterday. While my British Paras were fighting some Italians in a trench, my Spitfire actually strafed the Italians that were in the same trench. My troops were about 20m away and the Spitfire shot at the Italians. HAve you ever heard of something like that? Seems very unrealistic to me. I mean it's one thing to strafe troops in a trench but another to do it when friendly forces are in the same trench.
  12. Your right, so I guess my question is how do you kill German tanks with a 37mm gun?
  13. I don't know about that. In my game I can almost hear the German tankers laughing. Also, isn't that the whole deal with Matildas? They can keep getting hit but it never bothers them and they end up getting so close to kill your guns with m.g.'s
  14. I would love to see a compilation of your favorite screen shot posted on this website. Once I figure out how to post one I will, it features a nice Lynx getting toasted by my flamethrower. Needless to say he died shortly thereafter.
  15. I think I get it. The Grants are firing at Panzers and will keep firing 37mm rounds at it to help the 75mm gun, right? The reason I am asking is that every single hit that the 37mm makes on the panzers bounce right off or shatter. My gunners have been shooting this way for over three minutes now at around 400 meters I think.
  16. No, not hull down and in the video I can see the 75mm fire but then stop so they can fire three more 37 mm shots. Anyway I can make them stop wasting time with the door knockers and concentrate on the real gun?
  17. Thanks. But what happens if the crew continues firing the 37mm gun doing no damage? What can I do to make them realize they should stick to the 75mm?
  18. Which is correct the H7, or the A7 as the hull mounted 75mm gun?
  19. I am wondering what ammo loadout do you look at to determine how many rounds the 75mm cannon has used. I am talking about the ammo indicator at the bottom of the unit indicator when you click on them. I have watched over and over again my moves when using this tank and I have seen when either the 37mm gun and the 75mm gun fire only the first ammo loadout is affected. So how do you guys determine what gun they have been firing?
  20. I agree with most of the attitudes regarding FO's in vechicles. If I remember correctly was'nt that the main duty of the Daimler Dingos? Remember Michael Caine in A Bridge To Far? His only job was to call in airstrikes and the sort and he was riding in those little armoured cars.
  21. Nevermind I did another search and sort of found the answer. Still I have not idea why it's there.
  22. I searched this topic up but still not found an answer. Is it just an easter egg? Also, what is the name to the intro music?
  23. I did a search for this question and did not find anything so I hope you can answer this question. The Churchill I tank has listed as its armaments as 40mm + 75mm. The little pictures of its armament shows a cannon and a machine gun. I heard about the early Churchills with a bow mounted gun but I don't see it registed when it fires a round. So I want to know does this tank have two cannons and is it represented in the game correctly?
  24. Just my two cents about the upcoming patch. On pretty much all battles as the British, I always have Canadian crews in tanks. Also, when I was playing Bir Hachiem the flag over the fort was British and not French, also there was a lone British ATR guy there. I realize it may be for historical purposes but did not the French have ATR's?
  25. Newbie question:What does Mish-Mish mean? I know it means gossip in Uzbek. But what does that have to do with the original question?
