  1. Over on Reddit this image was posted claiming to be a barrel from the BMP. It looks like at 30mm barrel from a BMP-2 but I remain skeptical of most things found on the Reddit. At first glance it looks too thick for a 30mm barrel but curious what other here think. Of course the most interesting part of this pic is the difference in sizes of the sides of the barrel which is fascinating if true.
  2. On a related note what would the Italian, Spanish and Portuguese armies supposed to do? I understand their navies and air forces would be in use in the Atlantic and Med but with no borders on a Warsaw Pact country would they deploy to Germany? While Italy borders Yugoslavia they were not part of Warsaw Pact so would they deploy around Austria and help Germany? Also, why not include Turkey on the Soviet border!!!!!
  3. So the designers intentionally put the reinforcements into the M-60 line of fire for shock effect? Huh?
  4. I also saw my tanks get spawned right into the line of fire of the M-60s. Whats the point of this reinforcement if I cant doing anything with these units?

  7. So there is benefit to having a FO in a FIST but not an FO in the MT-LBu?
  8. I think my case may have had to do with ECM. It was like the turret was freaking it out, it was not tracking anything and just spinning like it was a show. However once it got going it did empty its ammo. I see this is a problem with the VADS. If this happens frequently does it make sense to add a support truck with ammo? Its weird to have a vehicle empty its ammo in only a few minutes and not have a way to keep it combat operational after that.
  9. Wow, thanks for this. I have no idea why my Shilka commander was ignoring the vehicles blowing up next to him being hit by a Cobra. It was really weird as once I closed him up the Shilka looked like it rebooted with the turret spinning around but not firing.
  10. Right? You would think the commander would be able to see the helo and decide to take it on. The VADS does not seem to suffer a similar problem which is why I unbuttoned my Shilka commander in the first place.
  11. I was paying Scouts out and was seeing my infantry and armor getting hit constantly while my Shilka just sat there in the open. I then buttoned him up and the turret started spinning for 30 seconds and then started tracking the air threats. It makes some sense that the commander would need to hit some buttons inside the turret but this is not mentioned in the manual.
  12. I also have had some luck with these. I suspect this has to do with fighting on longer ranged maps. They are good in a team but they cannot spot well.
  13. How do you get your pictures to Post here? Mine are always too large.
  14. I still love how great the TOW missile is but I am still shocked how bad the BMP-1 is. It cant see and the main gun is barely adequate and when the squad leader leaves it becomes even more blind.
  15. Was this also true for their WARSAW Pact allies? I assume so but maybe the East Germans had other thoughts. I would love to see them and the Poles in the game. And some Soviet Naval Infantry.
  16. So the Hinds were meant for CAS? Those seem made to help the infantry on the tip of the spear.
  17. I did like seeing my Redeye gunners getting credited with a kill and seeing and hearing an explosion off the side of the screen.
  18. Watch out for Soviet airpower they are effective and do show up. Its a different feeling when playing as the Americans and having to worry about not having complete air superiority. I cringe when I hear jet engines and realize I did not call for any air support. However, I am surprised how effective the Redeye missile is.
  19. So are there any scenarios which more accurately depict the CW way of fighting? Id like to play those.
  20. I always fear fighting in cities with CW forces for this reason. Is there a guide for using CW forces in a built up area? Its one thing when you can call in artillery or tanks but what can you do on the attack when the streets or buildings prevent you from calling on this support?
  21. Resurrecting this older thread so Panzershrecks and bazookas can now fire inside of buildings? I had thought the blast effects would prevent this but got my last Sherman destroyed by a panzershreck last night from a german firing from 10 feet away on the third floor of a building.
  22. I am also interested in how WP works as I thought I use target smoke on the unit I am trying to hit but when I have used it the target comes away fine.
