  1. Your 'bone' post got me laughing so I almost choked. I'm not sure what's left unshown! I suppose they could give you a glimpse of the complete Panther interior or show you the concrete German pillbox. Ah, I don't think they've shown the cathedral yet. So there's still more stuff in the game to see after all. :)

Did we see a cow or bren tripod yet?

  2. Who are you commanding?

I find that I save and end ofter a battle because I find setting up and the advance to contact the most mentally challenging.

So on campaigns I have a look and reboot when not so tired. If I deploy and move out tired my pixel troops take casualties. Oh, yeah casualties are more likely late game when feeling I have it won. Dropped a damned 120mm smoke round on 2nd squad, 2nd platoon about 3 mikes from red capitulation at the weekend- doh.

  3. That's actually not possible. Each Team within a Squad occupies it's own Action Spot. They never purposefully occupy each others' Action Spots, though it can sometimes happen when guys are passing through and get hit with suppressive fire. Which means no matter what Command you use for a 3 Team Squad the end disposition is identical to the start disposition in terms of density. Terrain considerations, however, can influence spacing within an Action Spot. However, that is purely influenced by the terrain and not the Command.

This feels odd, because like you know, it's your game. But it sounds like you are talking CMSF as well as Normandy. And well I get the bunching with Assault so much I'd say "all the time". There was a sizable thread about it in SF forum and consensus was yeah, that's a limitation of the command. Since then I used it less because two teams in one action spot is another risk to factor in.

Also in SF when giving the command I think only one action spot highlight appears at destination giving the appearance that it's working as designed.

  4. Welcome to Shock Force froum.

There's load of fun to be had with the yanks. Not just the campaign and battles that come with it; there loads of user made stuff. and some Red v Red.

Some of my personal favourites are insurgent type battles.

Also worth bearing in mind is this: Generally speaking the battles got tougher with the new modules. Partly due to less armour and firepower of other western nations, and also in large part due to the battle designers learning to be dastardly. One simple change of having less windows in building in some later maps has huge change. So you could view the yank campaign as a good training session.

Also, for me it was well worth an expansion just to move from the Pardox patches to Battlefront, and in case you were not aware you can buy direct from them. (There's a patch on the way for Nato)

    Happy CM'ing.

  5. this is how i see it. "sorry bud, can't put you out, we're still testing the fire extinguisher"...

Ha ha, yep that captures it perfectly. I'm not burning yet, but I got the fever.

I hear what the beta are saying. I beta'd for a grand strategy game and learnt that when it was released it no longer felt like a new game, so effort are appreciated.

Longleftflank- escaped from a dungeon. After that one I learned to walk away early if I any madness started showing.

  6. BF doesn't release the Normandy to it's CM addicts for the holiday.

Comparing bastige acts, yeah you may say worst things happened in history. Some French weren't too pleased with Caen being levelled. But anybody care to compare personal bastige experiences with the dealer holding onto Normandy and letting the Beta have their fun.

I had a girlfriend make me sandwiches for an early morning road trip once. So driving in the dark I took a bite and, grrr it tasted dead. So I turn the light on. Not a few spots of mold the whole freaking bread is deep green- no white to be seen. I thought dozy bitch, until weeks later somebody told me she was laughing because she did it on purpose. Anyway, didn't mean nothing compared to holding out on Normandy over the holiday basige.
