  1. the sc1 forum seems pretty dead but to bring a bit of life to it i wish y'all a Merry Xmas and a Happy Newyear and cya next year
  2. @seamonkey: the setting is nice, good musically, beautiful graphics for the genre.. it is a panzer general-like where you cannot amass production points yourself, cannot repair units during the battle. The production phase happens after the battle (campaign mode). In a skirmish you decide how many points each player will have, there is a defender and an attacker. The attacker will have to occupy a certain amount of cities to win the game. The only thing i really liked about it is the EU occupying Washington DC
  3. btw i dont understand why most of u pple think tiles will suck.. i dont think it will make a great difference, game stays the same: you dont play Sc for the hexes, its much more than a tactical game (like panzer general) its a GRAND strategy game, with units that r represented in an abstract way, where entire countries wage war, not only some tanks in a wood. Its all the power of a country you will have to face..
  4. @kuniworth: its only natural to be disappointed.. when you very much want something and when finally the thingie is in your grasp, but someone takes it away.. it IS frustrating.. but then again Moon is right, better a good product that came in a little late than a game with flaws that we wouldnt play more than 1week
  5. you have the heart of a game designer edwin personally i think this option is too much..this would complicate the game needlessly. im a bit reluctant towards the way on how to obtain guerilla, it could be something apart, but not related to techs
  6. @Bad Luck: man you cannot miss the chance of your life, order via Rambo and you'll get the beautiful autograph with it.. i wouldnt hesitate ;D
  7. mm interesting.. by replacing the axis airfleets by 3 lvl 5 rockets from the beginning, and by adding the countries you named before in this post to enhance the axis mpp base, the game could be more of a challenge at hard xp +2. Of course as allied played you should handle a houserule: no air strikes on rockets before the fall of paris
  8. lol condor, about guts: ive played like 80% of my games without realising that sneaky little info on the top of the screen while you are about to click on an enemy unit.. what makes me a natural too , only by instinct will you show the enemy the most beautiful moves.. all those pre-made strats are cool and very tough, but they r not worth the guts
  9. should be a worthy challenge indeed.. but in the end an experienced player will kill the ai, even with those settings. The ai airfleets always strike first, before its ground units. That makes it rather difficult for it to break through a line. the ai mostly fights erratically, without focus. It attacks 10 units a turn, instead on focussing on 2 and killing them effectively. Once you know how the ai plays, you can exploit it and the challenge is gone. Indeed pity they didnt put more work in it.. but maybe is it very difficult to create an ai able to play as a human, too many coherent choices that it must take
  10. ok thx for explaining... what is the reason behind that policy Moon? wouldnt it be smarter to release a demo before the game comes out? so that the game gets to be known
  11. seems pretty cool indeed... looks like ive somewhat underestimated the graphics..
  12. about the release date: just don't give any if it is impossible to maintain... this Sc2 soap is going on since 2 years or so. Dont get me wrong, i respect little developers, it must be hard to work with a limited group on a title like Sc2. But soon it will be 2006 and a game that should have come out in 2004 , with the graphics of 2004 (and in the case of SC2 graphics of 1996) will be hard to sell. I for my part will buy it, i like SC1 and most probable will like SC2 a lot, but i fear for the total sells.. the real strength of sc however lays in the strong community, we should all buy 5 copies each to help HC develop SC3... in 2015
  13. any idea when the demo will be released? coz if the game ships in in december, the demo should be available now? or arent there any plans to make a demo available
  14. thx terif for the useful explanation
  15. hi pple! id like to know what the trigger hexes are for the siberian legions..
  16. hexes or no hexes.. pff who cares. Strategic command is a grand strategy game, thats what so cool about it. U play countries from that time battling each other, what you need is some good strategies. If you think the tactical elements r the most important feature, i suggest you take a look around (1day)games like panzer general
  17. yes, that game should turn out to be very good. What SC lacked , SC2 will possess. I dont buy many games but ill definitely buy this one

@pino: all you say is true, but as i consider myself BELGIAN i dont care how much capital is moving from whatever side to whatever other side, as there r no sides for me. + according to a inquiry of the MR (walloon liberals) who wanted, of course to weaken those facts, all aspects of the transfers must be taken with caution, as a lot of money that flanders gives 'away' in fact is redirected towards flanders itself under other forms. Belgium will never split. Too many people like me out here, who know both languages, both regions (i live near namur but study in ghent). The close-minded morons (on both sides) will try but they will fail. @JJ: ur right, culture is something you learn about, stupid pple r not confined to fronteers..

@pino: the transfers from north to south are a myth, i can know i am belgian.. if u think the walloons suck, then u are a rascist, how would you react if i told you that flemmish pple are outdated, close-minded and cold @the others you cannot say that the us has 'more culture' just because a lot of cultures live next to each other. the american culture does not exist in se.. except maybe some cow-boy stories. Culture is something that is built over time, and we wont start to argue about our founding data, will we

@rambo: maybe it is good for your wallet to live in the states, but there are other things that influence a choice to live somewhere, like family&friends, a job, the feeling you have with that country, when you walk in its streets.. the culture you share Belgium rocks, whole of it pino

let me summarize: u care about each other, except about walloons you do not have to state your hatred of them on this forum, thats rascism..
