  1. How is the AT Grenade fired? Is it with the same mechanism on the Kar 98? So they have a total of 5 grenades the rifle can fire, 2 specially designed for AT?

    Thanks,

    Gerry

The anti-tank rifle grenade is a "special item" and therefore you get a picture. That's the grenade with a count of "2". The 30mm HE is the standard rifle grenade. All infantry anti-tank weaponry is considered special. All infantry-carried anti-INFANTRY weapons and ordnance is considered normal and sits in the black window.

  2. Hello GaJ:

Thanks. But there is no CMFI tab. It cannot located my CMBN or CMFI installation.

When I try to Add an Install it asks me for those two folder locations above. If you can tell me what's wrong with the 2 entries above, I will be able to give it a go.

Thanks again and for the application.

  3. Hello:

Still not working for me. Here is what I tried to set up:

    1. Installation directory

    D:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\Battlefront\Combat Mission\Fortress Italy\Game Files

    2. Drop Box Location

    D:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\Dropbox

    What am I doing wrong.

BTW, it couldn't find any CM application by itself, e.g. CMBN.

    Thanks,

    Gerry

  4. Hello All:

I have used H2HH before with CMBN without problems. I just need some reminders how to install 1.6.2. for CMFI. I am using XP so the Games folder is under Documents and Settings.

When you launch 1.6.2, it prompts for 2 locations:

    1. Installation directory - I believe this is the folder where the CMFI .exe file is located?

    2. Drop Box Location - Is this the Games folder under Documents and Settings or is it the Dropbox folder under Documents and Settings\My Documents?

    Thanks,

    Gerry

  5. Hello:

Looking for one opponent to start playing CMFI PBEM.

    Two requirements please:

    1. Small battles first.

    2. Consistent log return. I prefer a file a day. I lose interest/track if someone disappears for a while.

    Let me know.

    Gerry

P.S. If you are a strong player and would like to give me some lessons and a whooping or two that would be also fine.

  6. It was an infantry-rich target so it looks like they got excited.

    Gerry

Yes, thanks akd that makes a lot of sense. What puzzles me is the OP saying the mortar fired for an entire minute. I wonder if they obeyed the 'target briefly' and then decided the target was enough of a threat to take matters into their own hands.

I have experienced that regularly - mortar crews are quite liberal with ammo, raining down death on even the most innocuous truck in the distance.

  7. Some caution is definitely needed. Scouting/maneuvering, lather, rinse, and repeat as MikeyD says.

I also try to gauge how I am doing by dividing the map into say thirds and comparing my progress to the time used. Gives you a rough idea if you need to speed up.

I have also done what Sublime says. Want to move across some terrain say, but giving it one more minute or so to apply more suppressive fire first. Have caught myself doing this a lot. Many scenarios have 45 - 60 minutes so you really do have more time than you might think. I was used to the 7 turns in ASL so I feel I have lots of time usually.

  8. Hello:

Playing first battle in Advanced Training Campaign where you have to control the N and S sides of a bridge. I got points for both even though I had no troops in the victory location areas.

The enemy was shattered admittedly but still I thought you had to have troops in the VL (both are Occupy VLs).

    Thanks,

    Gerry
