  1. panzermartin, sorry about the size, I only wanted to do a small game too because I realised how unmanageable a large one would be! Didn't even realise there was a squad in my setup zone! doh! That game *was* set as an ME, but it didn't feel like it; the objective (when I found it) was virtually in my setup, and the icon showed a US attack! Maybe a few more bugs to squash or at least investigate here

Ha ha, gotta say it was the same (minus the bugs!) from the syrian side, although that 20 jeep rush out of the mosque at the start was probably not the most coordinated way for me to kick off the game Got to admit that the pace was a bit crazy, I'm getting used to the interface but even so I found that trying to manage a few troops semi-properly meant that the rest got massacred when I wasn't paying attention! The significant tactical thought and depth that CMx1 games felt like they had, has temporarily disapeared in the CMSF RT mode and been replaced by mad clickery. Having said that, the tactical play is still there, but the interface and pace seems to hide it! Will give it a few more shots though and BTW the RPG-29 is lethal to Strykers; one 'lone syrian' managed to take out 3!
  3. No, I will do later and report back, but shouldn't elite only increase the friendly FOW? These were the only units of mine on the map that were alive and as the bottom screenshot shows according to the relative spotting model the IED is spotting!? Which it shouldn't do at any difficulty level. Should it? :confused:

Hi, was just messing around in the editor and whilst playing a scenario on 'veteran' difficulty noticed this strangeness: This screen is from the syrians side and this is the FOW info I have when no Syrian units are selected (which is meant to be the sum of your FOW intelligence i think), all the US units are displayed: The next two screens show the info with my two remaining teams selected(left click) individually in each screen: Fighter team 1 (US units turn to '?'): HQ Team (US units turn to '?'): And finally this image shows the IED (left over after my trigger man was killed) selected: Now I could be wrong but it looks to me like the IED is providing all the spotting of the US units - either a) Those syrians have got some pretty smart bombs lying around . I don't really understand the new spotting/FOW rules (Does anyone yet!?) c) Some sort of spotting/FOW bug.   6. Don't particularly want to defend Play, but they aren't dodgy operators - anything I've ordered always arrives promptly and is the same as the retail versions, but cheaper!

  8. Hi, I'm not sure whether to buy direct or go to Play.co.uk. I guess the thing that would swing it is the printed manual. Anyone have any information as to what this is going to be like? - big and meaty, or a bit of a runt

  16. Hi, I posted this in the screen shot thread aswell, I think that they should be in as they are a significant tactical factor, used for spotting and sniping. I could understand if they are a major problem to code as they would be a 'special' building type - but I thought that the new CMSF architecture allowed for things like this to be added relatively easily?
  17. Hi, just a quick point, the mosque in those screenshots doesn't have any minarets, are those likely to be added at some point? I think that they would be a tactically significant feature - Observation, sniping, broadcasting messages of peace and love etc... Apart from that the shots look fantastic!

  19. Further to the above, just noticed this in the comments section: Would be good to see visuals that simulate rounds cooking off etc. in CMSF.
  20. Here is a vid of a knocked out M1, but again no context, could have been hit by an IED or just immobilized and then destroyed by US forces. I should imagine the crew were evacuated well before the rounds start cooking off and the gimps with the camera arrived. Jim
